One last stop at the Calypso Trading Post as I wanted to buy the Mickey Pants Coffee Mug, and I had to show DH the coconuts that you could mail as a postcard. Not sure how customs would react to a coconut in the mail so we left them there.
We checked out, it was a long slow painstaking process. Only two checkout windows open and both were trainees, which is fine, they have to learn sometime, but there was a long line up so there should have been more than two windows.
We hit the highway, or more to the point the tollways and we found our way to the Kennedy Space Centre. We really enjoyed our day here especially to presentation of the Lunar Landing and the Space Dots. Yep the icecream. DH had three servings and we could have done nothing else all day and he would have been happy.
Then we started the long journey home. We drove to Fort Lauderdale looking for the Outdoor World store, so DH could do some more shopping but took the wrong and exit and got lost, by the time we found it, it was closed. We tried to find a hotel but they were all full or too expensive. Note to self for future trips....Miami and Fort Lauderdale are cruise terminals - Cruises all leave on
Sunday so hotels are all full on Saturday night - make booking in advance. We drove onto Miami and found the same thing. Fnally around midnight we found a room at the Comfort Inn at Miami airport.
We were exhausted, we grabbed a quick bit to eat and a drink and feel asleep.
The next morning we had breakfast, returned our rental car and flew home.
Now we are already planning the next trip!
