Hi everyone

We had a fab time on Tuesday at Buckingham Palace.
Although it rained and we go soaked through, there wasn't a single lady that's dress wasn't see through and you could pour the water out of my lovely red shoes!

(There are a few pics, but you are not allowed a camera and we had to sneak a few on a moble phone as we left the party)

But we had a good hour and a half in sunshine before the storm.
We stood in line to greet the Duke of Edinburgh and then had a lovely tea a stroll together around the lake before the freak storm.
There was then screaming and old ladies crying and after 20 mintues they let everyone back inside the palace and we drip dried all over the beautiful furniture ha ha ha ha.

We didn't let the rain spoil our day.

We then went to The Dorchester hotel for a meal with one of my BIL's.
The food was out of this world, but then I would hope so for £381! I nearly died when the bill came!

The best thing about the whole day, was spending it with my husband with no children and not having to rush back to Bristol for a babysitter.

The red cross were everywhere handing out blankets to lots of elderly guests!
They probably were helping, we had to help elderly and wheelchair guests, there was no emergency thunder storm plan lol

Wow what a fab event. You must have been very excited. Just as a matter of interest can you describe your meal. What did everyone have? Did that cost include expensive wine? Must have been lovely.

I had Crab to start, it was three towers of dressed crabt with a crab mousse too and the chef also brought us a red pepper soup with chilli oil to try.

Angus Rib eye steak with new potatoes and selection of vegetables

Chef then brought us a Blueberry and summer fruit compote to try.

Dessert - A conversastion of chocolate. Which basically was diiferent types of chocolate mousse and a warm choc brownie and a what I can only describe as a sausage roll but made of chocolate.
I ate the whole thing with a tiny silver teaspoon to enjoy every mouthful lol.

We also had Chillian wine and dessert wine plus rose champagne.

Oh and coffee with Petite Fois

It was yummy :thumbsup2
