First I want to say that it was my wifes idea to go in the first place, but I'm glad we did go. We stayed in the Paradise Pier Hotel. Great hotel, quiet (we were on the 7th floor facing the California theme park). Weather was great not too hot or cold. Disneyland was even more exciting than I thought it would be. We have been to WDW lots of times and even own a DVC timeshare at Old Key West, so I thought that all the rides would be mirror images of the ones in Florida, boy was I wrong. The rides and everything else was BETTER at Disneyland and I look forward to going back there someday soon. The one thing I did notice is that most of the employees there have a lax attitude towards their job. What I mean is that when I would thank them and I hardly ever got a response back, but maybe its a California thing, don't think that I'm complaining cause I love it there, its just that the people down in Florida seem to be more friendlier. We're from Kansas so we are in he middle and can go to either coast in the same amount of time. In short, going there brought back memories of watching the Mickey Mouse Club on TV in B&W back in the late 50's. :happytv:

Thanks for sharing. We're WDW veterans (go at least once a year). But me and DD6 are making a special trip to DLR next month.

I haven't been there since they added CA and DTD. We can't wait.

How was the food compared to WDW? I've noticed that the prices seem higher. Any dining recommendations?

We ate at the PHC which is in Paradise Pier hotel, great for breakfast, they have a buffet and Lilo and Stitch characters running around plus Minnie and Daisy. Its a little pricy, but the food is not bad. Tried to get into Goofys Kitchen but you have to make prior reservations, its a popular place to go at Disneyland hotel. Also ate at Storytellers in the Grand Cailfornia hotel for dinner, its a buffet and not bad. We also tried the Whitewater (I think thats what they called it at the Grand California hotel) just down from Storytellers, they serve sandwiches and small things to eat thats reasonably priced. Now if you want a cheap place to have breakfast and don't mind eating outside, there are several places in Downtown Disney that we ate at that don't cost much. :thumbsup2
