In Dec we planned a trip for late April. We were going to surprise the kids. In mid Jan we found out my mom has esophagus cancer. She was in horrible shape when they diagnosed her. She was unable to swallow, so she was dehydrated and couldnt eat. She was going down hill FAST. She has had 22 rounds of raditaion and 2 rounds of chemo. She is now eating again and feeling pretty good. She isnt well enough to travel with us like we had planned, but she is well enough for me to leave for a few days.
Today I called and paid for our trip! I'm so excited. Just about 6 weeks to go!
We were going to go for 6 nights, our longest trip. Then a few days ago we decided to take a couple days off to save time and money. The more we talked about all we wanted to do, the more we realized we need more days. So, we took one day off and are going for 5 nights. Staying at our favorite motel- the candy cane.
