Our Timeline

this is why we hesitate at resale: you've spent the $$ but still have no product. Sure your product is there just not available to you.

Keep in mind, the seller also doesn't get the funds until everything is completed at Disney, in our case, we got notified that our sale closed on 3/19. Its been recorded on the OCC site and our DVC Member Account(online) shows the contract pulled. So I guess there is a lot of faith in the Title company from the Seller and the Buyer perspectives. Normal RE closing, the checks pass around the table and you walk away with your proceeds and the buyer walks away with their deed and keys!

Our time frame was fast(lucky I guess), listed on 2/28, offer made and accepted that day, ROFR returned by DVC 3/8, closing Docs returned to Title Company on 3/18 and closed on 3/19.

I agree with shwn and my AKV contract went to ROFR the same day as their AKV contract (I think we were both 100 points too).
We just closed not long ago. Here was our timeline:
1/19-1/20- Made offer and negotiated (settled on $66/point for 100 AKV Aug UY)
1/21- contract e-mailed and signed and sent back with deposit
1/22- contract sent to ROFR
2/20- passed ROFR
2/27- closing docs received, signed and overnighted back with final payment
2/28- our docs and payment received by closing company
3/8- deed recorded on orange county website (I did not look this up until 3/18 though)
3/11- notified by broker that we closed
3/19- see AKV showing up on DVCmember.com under our existing membership (HH points) in the morning and w/in a few hours points were loaded. We booked a Xmas trip by 3pm (2BR and studio at AKV-Kadani).
3/25- got letter with member # (which we already knew)
still waiting for member cards, though we were already members and had same UY, so not sure if we'll get another set of cards
