Hello All!

I always love reading everyone else's dining reviews and thought I would do one for our trip.

A little background: We have been to Disney World on two previous trips, so this is our third. We went in 2005 and 2006. We had a tripped planned in 2007 and one in 2008 and had to cancel both due to financial/job reasons. So, hence the name....third times a charm! I was so praying we wouldn't have to cancel this trip.

We, are Me 41,like most things other than most seafood and fish
DH also 41-very adventurous eater
DS14-very adventurous like his dad!
DS10- chicken nugget/mac and cheese kind of kid!

I was worried about some of the restaurants we picked because DS10 is now considered at adult in disney's eyes. He did pretty well though. I was proud of him.

We were on the free dining plan. I will do day by day of the restaurants we tried. I will also give the cost of each meal, if I have the receipt!! Sorry, there are no pictures as my camera decided to go on the blink on the trip. I was able to get over 400 pictures between my broken camera and DH's cell phone. The camera would take pics fine for a while, then give me a red screen other times. I don't know what is wrong with it! Anyway, it was just too tiring trying to get pics in the parks to mess with it at meals!

Okay, enough rambling on to day one!

By the way, we were at Disney October 24th through November 1st!

We arrived at Port Orleans Riverside around 4:00pm on the 24th. We checked out the resort before taking the boat to DTD. We had a 7:15pm reservation at T-Rex. We paid OOP for this meal. DS10 birthday was on November 4th, so we let him pick a special restaurant and this is where he wanted to go.

We arrived at T-rex around 7:00pm and checked in. We were immediately seated. We sat near the Mammoths and the pteredactyls ( hope I spelled that close!!!).

DH ordered the Boneyard buffet which is the rotissorie chicken and mega mes-o-bones (ribs). It came with two sides. I think he had the mashed potatoes and baked beans. He loved it. Pretty much finished the whole plate and it was a big plate full!

I ordered the Triassic tortellini. This was really good, but I didn't care for the dried tomatoes that were in it. They had an odd taste to me. I liked the meal but probably would order something different next time.

DS14 also had the boneyard buffet. I think he got french fries and baked beans with his. He shared a few bites of the chicken with me and his brother. It was very good and tender. He didn't leave much on his plate.

DS10 ordered off the kids menu here. He had the mac and cheese with french fries. Must have been pretty good because there was nothing left.

This meal cost us close to $100 out of pocket. It was different and interesting, especially the meteor showers. BUT, very LOUD! Don't know if we would try it again or not. Food was really good, but rather expensive and the restaurant was just too loud for us.

DAY 2

October 25th:

We went to Animal Kingdom today. We had an 8:05 ADR for Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. We were impressed with this breakfast buffet. Everything we had was hot and tasty. I have read of others having trouble with the way the lines move, but we didn't encounter any problems. We just jumped in where ever we wanted as did everyone else. Between the four of us, I think we tried almost everything that the buffet offered. We liked the way this restaurant is set up in individual rooms. It was packed, but wasn't overly noisy. Upon recommendations from this board, I tried the Jungle juice and loved it. My DH and 2 DS all tried a drink of mine and wished they had ordered it!! This meal would have cost us $82.42 before tip.

Character interaction was great also. We would definitely eat here again.

Since we ate a big breakfast, no one was hungry for lunch. For dinner, we ate at the Riverside Mill at POR. The food court is very easy to figure out and overall, we enjoyed all our meals that we ate here. Tonight we had:

DH: Double bacon cheese burger with fries and a brownie.
Me: Salad your way and a brownie.
DS14: Double bacon Cheese burger with fries and a cookie.
DS10: Double Bacon cheese burger with fries and chocolate cake.

I loved the salad your way. There was a choice of two lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, two cheese, carrots, broccoli, peas, chicken, beef, cucumber, and several other veggies that I don't remember. I think there was four or five dressing to choose from.

The boys all loved their bacon cheese burgers. We took our dessert back to the room with us for breakfast tomorrow morning!
