Our Thanksgiving Fantasy - Nov 22-Dec 1 - COMPLETE!!

I thought I posted reply, I didn't. Love the cool stuff you got.

Dinner looked really good. That is the one thing that has me question taking a cruise. I am not one of those girls that likes to get dressed up, never have been. I don't even own a dress or skirt. I have a pair of black slacks that I wear to wedding and funerals. I blame Jim. We had to go to a company party when we were dating and for some reason I walked over to his house to leave from there. I had on a dress as it was somewhat formal. My bosses orders as I worked with some interesting people. Jim burst into hysterical laughing and his mother laughed that I actually had legs. No dresses for me after that.

I asked Jay if he would like to take a cruise and he said NO!!! He likes Disney, not boats. The catch fire, people get sick, they fall overboard, etc. I think he doesn't like boats but I could be wrong. :rotfl2:

Wearing dressy pants would be fine. We saw everything from tuxes to some teen girl practically dressed like a hooker, so I would say the dress code was loosely followed in the main dining rooms. But for Remy and Palo - you do need to dress up.

Just a little update for now. I need to work on a quilt that I promised someone by Christmas. So that will keep me busy most of the day.

I ordered a photo disk at the end of the cruise and when we got home .....it didn't work. Said it was corrupted. After a little back and forth with the photo company, I managed to convince them to send me another disk.

And I just got it yesterday. So here is our boarding photo from the first day.

They take this photo so they can do facial recognition on all of the photos that are taken of your family. I like how bright the blue is in DS's eyes on this one.

Anyhoodle, I am off to the sewing room ...... more updates later !!

Wow, 100 kids signed up for the kids meet? That's amazing!

That was a great idea with the scavenger hunt for the kids! A great way to get them to try to open up to each other.

Dinner looks yummy at Animator's Palate! I love the fact that they have a lighter fare menu.

Okay, so this is totally random, but your boarding picture made me think about it (love the picture by the way).

When I was 7 we took a huge trip to California, like we were gone five weeks. So we took a whale watching tour (I believe in San Diego). So before you board, they take your picture and give it to you. So my oldest brother, who was 13 at the time, asks my Dad "why do they take your picture before you get on board?" And my Dad straight up says "so they can identify you if the boat sinks...."

:scared1: That was the equivalent of my brothers face and it was hysterical and awesome at the same time.

Okay, random story time done. :rotfl2:

OMG - that ..... is hilarious !!!!

Day 3 – Part 1

We did our best to sleep in on this morning. We got up around 9 AM and went up to the Cove Café.

This is the place where you can get some real coffee. Don’t they serve real coffee, you ask?? No. No they don’t. They serve Nescafe and it is disgusting. So we go to Cove Café for REAL coffee. You have to pay extra for it, but we didn’t care. Cove Café is in the adult sections of the ship, so it is nice and peaceful in there.

We got a couple of little pastries to eat – these were complementary.

We didn’t want to eat too much, because we have Palo Brunch coming up in an hour. We were so looking forward to it.

I took some more photos on deck 11.

We picked up a couple of things from Cabanas for the kids for breakfast and headed back to the room to get ready for Palo Brunch.

Palo is one of the super nice restaurants on the boat. Brunch is a very popular meal to book and the slots fill up fast. There is an upcharge of $25 a person. We got dressed and headed up to deck 12. Palo has a dress code so we had to dress up a little.

We checked in were seated right away. We got a nice big round booth with a lovely view,

Once you are seated, your waiter takes you to the buffet

He shows you all of the sections and explains all of the options to you.

On top of all of this, you get to order an entrée as well.

Word to the wise …… PACE yourself !!!

We helped ourselves to some food …..

This is my plate and I got a chocolate brioche, a cream puff, some anti pasti, some eggplant parmesan and some fancy veggies.

DH got similar items, I suppose. I didn’t get a photo of his plate. We both got complementary mimosas.

Now, for our entrees ….

DH ordered eggs benedict.

And I had salmon.

And I just have to tell you ….. this was the BEST salmon I have ever had. It was tender ad cooked and seasoned perfectly. DH enjoyed his meal as well.

Then we went back to the buffet to get some of the delicious desserts.

I got a cream puff, a chocolate cake, a cherry tart and some chocolate mousse. Our waiter brought us coffee and that went well with all of the chocolate.

These were DH’s desserts.

Here we are at brunch.

We very much enjoyed this meal and we were so glad we booked it. The food and the service were excellent. Very enjoyable meal !!

Nice to see you in so many photos! You two are a cute couple!

That brunch looks awesome! I would have a hard time pacing myself!

Real coffee is an extra charge!? Do they view it the same way as liquor? I've only been on one cruise about fifteen years ago and I don't remember this.

I'm enjoying your photos. Very cool ship!

Loving your TR! Especially the pics. It's only 15 degrees here so I'm daydreaming through your posts!

SSR is our home resort.
It does seem cheap by NYC prices.
Vinny will not cruise but someone told him he should while we were there and he might be changing.
The brunch looked delicious.

We learned to do so from a pervious experience. You must pace yourself at this meal.

Well, you can drink the sludge they serve at Cabanas and on deck for free. But if you want a really good cup of coffee, then yes, there is an upcharge. It was really good coffee so we didn't mind.

I'm enjoying your photos. Very cool ship!

I can't wait to go back !!!

Finally joining in, I'll try to get caught up soon. :)

Brunch was amazing and you and Vinny NEED to go on a Disney cruise !!!

It is actually Nescrapé, FYI.

Well that food looks amazing.

Day 3 – Part 2

After brunch, we went back to the stateroom to check on the kids.

Those are all of DD's stuffed animals that she snuck in her suitcase. She loves her some stuffies !!

We got some fish extender gifts !!

I think that was Cuba – not sure though.

DS went to do his thing and DH took DD swimming. She loved the Aquaduck !!

While they were doing that, I delivered our fish extender gifts. It took a bit of running around, but it helped burn off some the brunch.

I saw this cute little door.

I’m not sure what the story is there.

Anyway, I came back to the room and rested a bit and then went to the DVC desk and they were giving out pins.

I checked out the shops and enjoyed some time alone.

DH and DD came back and we got ready to go to our Mixology class. Someone on our facebook group organized a private mixology class through DCL. We had so many people sign up, we had to split it into two groups. One group went at 2 PM and ours was at 4 PM.

So we took DD to her club

Cute art on the way

DD’s club

And we headed to Skyline to meet everyone for mixology.

We were excited about this experience and getting know our new friends better. Stay tuned !!!

That was Pepe's door from the Muppets Detective game!

Jill in CO

Hey Jill, thanks !! I knew there was a reason for it. DD played the detective game, but she wanted to save the puppies instead of the Muppets.

That AquaDuck looks like a blast. They captured some really pics of your DD on it.

It appears the stuffies needed their own suitcase!

There were 12 of them on our disk. Fun stuff.

It appears the stuffies needed their own suitcase!

Don't even get me started. She has WAY too many of them !!!

Caught up again. That looked like a nice brunch.

DD's stuffed animals look like my granddaughters room. There is no place for them to sleep on the bed and the took them in my car last year when we drove to Disney.

Ok, been away a while... and this will probably happen again next week, but I'm all caught up for now. :rotfl2:

I'm glad you were able to catch the Osborne Lights being turned on. As awesome as they are any time, it is just absolutely magical standing there in the dark and all of a sudden seeing those lights and hearing the music. And I too, am glad to see the manger scene being kept there.

Your cruise looks like it is off to a good start too. It seems like the kids are enjoying their various age appropriate activities, as are mom and dad.

Seeing your DD's stuffed animals all over the bed lead me to wonder though... exactly how big is her suitcase? Did she even pack any clothes??? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:
