WDW!

I love when everything is decorated for Christmas. So beautiful.

I'm with you, Waffle House is nasty! SSR looks great all decorated for Christmas. I've stayed there once and really enjoyed it.

It really is. I like the food OK, but ..... I always want a shower when we leave. The kids love it though !!

Yes, LOVE SSR. It is our home resort. Very lovely !!

I remember seeing the coin purses on Facebook! They are so cute, and I'm sure everyone loved it.

I find the Waffle House to be polarizing. I think you either love them or hate them. There's no in between. :rotfl:

We'll be staying at Saratoga in January. We wait listed the Boardwalk and the Grand Floridian, but neither one has come through yet.

Love your comment about needing a shower after eating at Waffle House! I've only eaten there a couple of times and feel the same way.

Cute picture of Hannah on the carriage!

Nothing prettier than Disney at Christmastime!

I don't mind the food so much, but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. Some of them are just disgusting.

I think there all DVC resorts are wonderful. We like certain ones more than others, but even if you stay at SSR, it will still be so nice !!

WH is gross. The food is OK, but some of the restaurants are just nasty.

Thanks !!!

Christmas at Disney is so special

Love the dirtyness of the WH !!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Maybe because we only go once or twice a year !!!

Okay crafty girl....... More TR........

Can I ask where you found the Disney punches? I have been looking for them and cannot find them anywhere!!!!

Girl - that place is nasty. I know you love it though. Jerry always takes the kids and I stay home. Except when we are travelling. Then I have to go.

Hey !! :welcome: and thanks for following along !!

I got the Mickey Head punch at Joann's It was about $7. I got the castle and sideways Mickey head at stamp-happy- dot - com. They weren't super expensive either $5 or $6 a piece plus shipping. I think they have the Mickey head one as well, so you can just buy them all from the same place if you want. :)

Following! :)

Excited to watch this post, as we're boarding the Fantasy in just over a month for our first cruise!!!

Hi! Would you be willing to share the pattern for your crayon roll? It's super cute and I'd love to give that to the kiddos on our cruise

You can just google "crayon roll tutorial" and all kinds of blogs will pop up. Great stuff out there. I used this one http://thepleatedpoppy.com/2010/05/crayon-roll-tutorial/

I made mine smaller though. Hers was something line 16" long. I made mine 10.5 x 6 inches (enough for 8 crayons) and added a pocket behind the crayons for some print outs for the kids to color. I had to use two elastic bands sewed together as well because just one wouldn't fit.

I hope that helps !!

It looks like you put a lot of thought and effort into the fish extender gifts. I'm thinking 17 rooms X maybe 2 - 4 people per room = a lot of sewing. :faint:

That's great that your room was ready at check in at 10. Always makes it nice to kind of get settled in after the drive.

Yes, it was about 70 people all together. We planned pretty far ahead so I just did a little here and a little there. I enjoyed it.

It really does make a huge difference. You get all of your stuff settled and then you can hit the parks without worrying about dragging everything up later after you have worn yourself out. Of course for this trip, we left all of the cruise stuff in the car. We just had an overnight bag for this first night. No need to drag everything up.

Day 1 – Part 2

We got our stuff settled and then headed down to the dock to catch the boat over to Downtown Disney. We had to renew our annual passes that had just expired the day before.

The kids get irritated by my photo taking.

DH will smile for me

The boat is here !!

And this happened

More photo reluctance

They dropped us off at House of Blues, so we walked ALL the way down to the Marketplace.

Doorway in front of House of Blues

Splitsville

Lots of Disney Springs construction walls.

We got to Guest Relations and the line was LONG. It moved fast though.

Soon we had our new AP’s in hand. Ready to hit the parks for another year.

Christmas décor

It was lunch time so we headed to our favorite to get some grub.

We got the same thing we always get.

DH and I split the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf and as always it was delicious.

Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf - mashed potatoes, port wine sauce and crispy onion rings $15

I always take the bacon off my portion because I just prefer it without. The rest is very yummy though. The onion straws are particularly amazing. The meatloaf is really good and the port wine sauce adds a nice element to the dish. It is much better than gravy, I think. We share this because it is plenty for two people and it saves money. We were not on the dining plan this trip.

The kids split the Chicken Tenders

Crispy Chicken Tenders and French Fries $12

These are your basic Disney chicken tenders. Good and crispy and kid friendly. They give them plenty, so no one left hungry.

One of the waitresses dropped a bunch of plates right next to us. It made a huge mess, but we helped her clean it up. I used to wait tables back in the day and you always feel terrible when this happens. As a thank you, she brought us an extra plate of fries which the kids scarfed down in 30 seconds flat.

We looked around in Goofy’s Candy Shop for a bit

I always wonder if anyone ever buys those huge things.

It started to rain so we hopped on the boat right there at Rain Forest Café to head back to SSR to get the car so we could head over to Hollywood Studios.

I love the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" shot of hubby and kids. Haha! Clever!

I'm a big fan of Wolfgang Puck Express, too. That was nice of you to help the server. I also waited tables years ago. It gave me an appreciation for waitstaff and to tip a good server generously.

I've often wondered if the cast members get to enjoy the day old treats that don't sell. I hope they don't just throw them out, right?

They kept covering up their faces so it seemed like something fun to do.

I always tip well, too.

That would be tragic. I imagine they stay good for several days, though.
