Our Tenative Food plan

Arrive Monday- AK open late, so we may just head there. Counter Service for this day

Tuesday- EPCOT- Teppan Edo (Any Suggestions??) We are rather unsure.

Wed- Magic Kingdom- 1900 park fair for Supper

Thursday- MGM- 50's drive in (we have a kid on the spectrum who is rather sensitive to a stern voice so that may limit Prime TIme Cafe as an option)

Friday- Breakfast at Ohana and then on to Magic Kingdom

Saturday- We are thinking EPCOT again or Magic Kingdom or a pool day. We are thinking Downtown Disney for supper at Capn' Jacks.

Sunday- We are a Grand Gathering and we are doing it this night. It is my birhtday. We chose the Gathering at AK.

If you would have any suggestions or changes, I would appreciate it. Travel Party is 8 people. One person has Type 1 diabetes and the two boys have special issues, one is ADHD and the other is on the spectrum.

If those are your tastes then I don't see much wrong with it.

IMO, if you have any restaurants like Tappen Edo near you, the food is probably better, the price is probably better and the "show" is probably better by you than at TE.

Also, are you going to 50's Prime Time Cafe or Sci-Fi? (You kind of meshed the names of the two places together.) If you are eating at 50's PTC, in my experience the CM's don't push it too much if they see that they are getting either a negative response or no response at all. It is all in good fun, so don't worry that the CM's are going to get carried away with things.

If you have a word with the servers before you sit down and caution them about your situation, they will no doubt be very sensitive about it. They deal with special circumstances on a regular basis. Having said that, if you go that route, make sure that the type of fare is what you are after as you wouldn't have the "experience" of the place - just the food and the setting. It may be what you want. I understood from your post however that you intended to give it a miss,but you may want to consider the foregoingto open up the option to you and your family.

Biergarten is a good choice for a party of 8. I would do that instead of Teppan Edo.

I also recommend Biergarten in Epcot! Good food, fun atmosphere. In the Magic Kingdom we like Crystal Palace for dinner too (Much better than 1900 Park Faire) saves the trip of having to leave the park....

I was very disappointed in Biergarten in October. Maybe my expectations were too high based on the hype here on the DIS, but the food was mediocre at best and the entertainment was very short in duration.
We love Teppan Edo. It is a beautiful restaurant, has warm friendly servers and the food is good. The tables are for 8 so that should work perfectly for your Grand Gathering. The chefs entertain as they cook and it is a must do for us each trip.
Are you considering 50's Prime Time Cafe or Sci Fi Drive In? I couldn't tell from your post. We love the 50's and we feel that the servers are in tune with the degree of interaction you desire. But if a gentle "reprimand" will bother your child you might want to consider somewhere else.

I would also recommend Biergarten. We went there this past September as a party of 7 and had a great time. Having a larger group is no problem there as they have long tables and there is a good variety of food so everyone can find something they like. The potato leek soup is scrumptious! Hope you have a great time!

I have never been, but heard biergarten's is very loud. You may just want to consider. Have a great vacation, Linda PS and also vote for crystal palace for dinner, a must do for us every time.

AK: Y&Y or Flame Tree are my suggestions...

EPCOT - Teppan Edo is a FAMILY TRADITION...we do this EVERY TIME... I can understand PP's suggesting that it is not unlike your area Hibachi...however I have found it is better than my area hibachi...and there are those that can not have this experience because it is not offered in their area... PLUS ...they do have a "DISNEY" take on the hibachi..it is special...

Hollywood Studios: There is "50's Prime Time" and "Sci Fi Drive in"...you are mixing the names....hence the confusion... I have no advice either way...have done H&V and F! Pkg many times..... have BD reserved for May.

Breakfast at "Ohana: LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! Been there 4+ time..... HIghly Recommend!

AK in a extra magic hours night is a little pointless there isn't much to do there, certinally less than all the other parks when they have their extended hours.
