This was our first trip staying at a vacation home (June 30-July5). The home was nice - 4 bedrooms (1 adult 3 kids) 2 bathrooms and a private pool for $110 a night. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the waterparks (we did the main parks while at Pop Century earlier). I was not happy with management. We had to "buy" insurance from them for the house and while $39 is not much it was unexpected. We also had to provide our own toilet paper, paper towels, dishsoap and trash bags. Not a huge deal, but had I known, I would have brought things from home. The teenagers loved the privacy but the 10 year old and I preferred Pop Century. We will be staying at Pop Century for our next trip in 2 years.

The "insurance" is usually instead of a security deposit. We have paid out $200-300 as a security deposit which we get back a week or two after you leave if there's no damage. That's normal with most homes. As far as the toilet paper, paper towels etc that is what self catering is about. You have enough to get you started but you have to buy the extras. Also normal with vacation rentals. :)
