Our Spring Break Trip with 3 kids 6 and younger

So some of you know that I am friends with a very special person. She makes superhero capes for children with life threatening illnesses!! She does a lot of events locally that I have helped support numerous times and she has recently done events outside the state of California (Bay Area specifically) that I have also helped support. After she heard about the tragedy in Boston she decided that she wanted to send every child there a cape to make them feel like the superhero's they are!! So last night a group of SAHM's who do in home parties (Mary Kay, Juice Plus+, Paperly, etc.) held a fundraiser in her honor. We sold raffle tickets to items we donated and raised a whole lot more money than I thought we would. We raised almost $500 for capes for the children in Boston!!! She was in tears when we gave her the money. I am blessed to have very healthy children but I have seen the pictures, heard the stories, met a couple of the kids who have received capes and this is something that I hold close to my heart!

I haven't kept this TR updated like I would like to but it takes a lot of my time shuttling my 3 kids around and then getting ready for this event. This weekend I plan on relaxing (well as much as I can with 3 kids, :rotfl2:) and doing some major updating!! Just thought I would share this with you. If you'd like more information on this organization please pm me. I don't want to post her website here because I'm not sure if I can or not. You can also purchase capes for your own child. All 3 of mine have one, my DH has one (shhh I didn't tell you that!!) and I just got mine last night!! I'll be sure to post some pictures once I get some taken.

Thanks!! We had a fun night!! I forgot to mention she's doing it for Children's Hospital of Boston!!

I hope so too!! Even though now we're talking about going to Great America tomorrow!! Got to use those season passes!!

Sorry for the delay in getting an update done. Things just got busy for me and I never found the time to do one. But here's a couple for you!!

The post with no pictures!!! How did I manage that?

Uhh Where’s my earing?

After getting off Autopia Jeremy decided he was going to run ahead. Very far ahead!! When you get off Autopia you have to go up a set of stairs, then head down a ramp and it’s very, very dark! I yelled at Jeremy to stop and when I adjusted James he rubbed against my ear and all of a sudden I felt something very light hit my chest and fall. I reached up and felt my ear and my earing was missing!!! If these were a really cheap set I wouldn’t have cared but no these are the earrings I wear on a daily basis. These are the earrings my DH gave to me the day before we got married because he wanted me to have something special from him. So I finally get Jeremy to stop, I step to the side and start looking in the dark for a very small earring. I found the back but no front. I decided then it was probably gone but let’s give it one last look so I set James down (I was still holding him) and my earring falls!!! It had landed between James and I!!! Thank goodness!!!! Needless to say Jeremy got into very big trouble and had to sit in the stroller for a time out (for running ahead, not me almost losing my earring!) Then instead of riding Matterhorn we rode It’s a Small World!! Sarah and James were happy, Jeremy not so much!!

After Small World we went ahead and headed back to Matterhorn and rode with our rider swaps from earlier in the day. I love rider swap because we aren’t restricted by a return time like fastpass. I will miss the day we are no longer able to use the rider swaps because everyone will be tall enough for everything.
After Matterhorn I’m not completely sure what we did. I think we said towards the Tomorrowland side of DL and rode Space Mountain, Star Tours and Finding Nemo. This is also the night I watched part of the fireworks from Tomorrowland. It was a different experience. Still a beautiful show you just miss a lot from that area!! By then our long day was wearing on us and we headed back to our hotel. Day 1 was full of a lot of fun and a great meet and greet!!

Up Next… Let’s meet some friends for breakfast.

Let’s eat and meet some friends.

The next morning we had made an early morning reservation to go dine with Minnie and her friends again. We really enjoy being able to get into the park an hour early, eat and then we’re ahead of all the people waiting for the regular opening time.

After we walked in and were being brought to our table we met Chip!

Leading Jeremy to our table.

Then Tigger showed up!

And Max.

I love how Jeremy is all about the characters now. No more crying or fighting!! Rafiki and Max with Jeremy.

Sarah showing Minnie her skirt and shirt.

James playing with Eeyore.

Sarah and Minnie.

Eeyore took my seat and James thought it was “too funny” (his words).

Jeremy’s favorite Captain Hook!

Jeremy showed Hook his shirt. It has Peter Pan and Hook on it. But Hook is over the crocodile’s mouth. He didn’t appreciate that very much!!

Playing with James. He had the same shirt on that Jeremy had on. Hook tried to check it out but James kept hiding his shirt with his hands.

Then Dale made an appearance.

James was in love with Pooh!

Overall I could care less for the food. I go mainly for the characters and to get into the park early. After breakfast we headed back into Tomorrowland to get FP’s for Space Mountain. After that we headed over and Found Nemo again. The kids love this ride and we only do it when the line is short because it’s a very, very slow loading ride. For some reason I have no pictures between now and that night. And the only ones from that night are one’s I took with my phone. I think we were more into the moment of enjoying ourselves than taking pictures. I know we headed over and rode Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh and Splash Mountain. I’m sure we did more but can’t really remember all we did. I thin the crowds were starting to get to us so back to the hotel for a break and naps. It was probably around 1 pm when we went back.

Up next Fantasmic and Fireworks!!!

:scared: about your earring, so happy you found it!

love all the photos of your breakfast, its nice getting in early! looks like you got lots of extra attention from the characters too!

Enjoying your report. We ran into the same Flynn the other day. He was very good with my son and not rough on the eyes! I thought the cm's in the theater area were amazing as well. So nice and good with kids.

It's funny, I read your trip updates but scrolled through the rest but for some reason I stopped on the one about the capes. Very moving.

So was DH!! Especially considering he was waiting by the stroller with Sarah wondering what was taking us so long to get off the ride since he knew we went right back on with no wait.

Thanks! They kept coming back to play with the kids. I didn't get pictures and forgot to post but Captain Hook wouldn't let Eeyore back in after he went out the door that was right by our table. Sarah marched up to Captain Hook and told him "Be nice to Eeyore!! He's my Grandma's favorite!!" and opened the door for Eeyore. It was pretty cute considering she pretty much hates having anything to do with Hook!!

Thank you for joining in!! Flynn was awesome!! I loved how he got down to my DD's level to talk to her and show her the crown. Still can't believe I missed that shot!!!

Thank you!! The owner of the company is a very special person and I love seeing all that she does to help put smiles on all those kids faces. That's why I help out whenever and wherever I can.

Thank you for the Mother's Day wishes!! We had a pretty relaxing day today. Went to a late lunch with my mother in law, then went to my step mother in laws to drop off her card.

I hope everyone had a very Happy Mother's Day today!! You all deserve it!! :flower3::grouphug:

As some of you may have read the kids and I were in a car accident today. We were in a parking garage heading up to the higher levels and a guy coming down hit us in the driver's side front corner! I saw him coming so I stopped to make sure he had enough room to make the turn (it's very tight in there) and he must not have been paying attention and he ran into me. All three kids were of course locked into their seats and are perfectly fine!!! I'm also fine but after I finally calmed down and called the insurance company my left shoulder started hurting and has been hurting ever since. So not fair with us leaving for vacation on Monday!! Everyone I've talked to and who has seen the pictures all say it's his fault. He hit me when I was stopped. Here's the damage to my poor van. The fender right there is actually pretty bowed out. More than it looks in the picture. (Please ignore the green paint. That's from about 5 years ago when I was pulling into my garage and rubbed it on the frame!! I was still learning how to park it into our small 1 car garage.)

Oh know. I hope that your shoulder is okay. I hope you have a good vacation anyway!

I did see this on Judy's thread....so thankful you and the kids are okay!
hope you will feel better before you leave and that you can enjoy the cruise!

Thank you!! It's not bothering me like it was so I'll just see what happens. The insurance company does know it is bothering me. Good thing is the claims rep I talked to understood how you could start hurting hours after the accident.

I saw you're in a rental now!! That's at least a step in the right direction!! Hope you're able to get all the problems fixed!!

Thanks Lisa!! We plan on enjoying the cruise and leaving everything behind us!!!

Now on another note why does it seem like when it rains is pours?

We had another adventure today:

They say bad things come in 3's so I'm really hoping we are done for a very long time!!! First my DH sliced open his hand last week at work (no stitches were need thank goodness!!), then the accident on Thursday and now today Jeremy thought it would be a good idea to mess around on his bed (him and Sarah are in bunk beds and he's the top bunk) and he fell!!!!! He split his ear open!!! :scared1: With everything going on and with us leaving on Monday I really didn't need the 3 hour Emergency Room visit!!!! He is ok thank goodness!! He ended up with 8 stitches. I couldn't believe how brave he was. When the Dr was stitching him up he never moved but my poor baby did cry. :sad1: Which I told him was perfectly fine because I probably would be crying too (and I almost did!!!) I had to stay strong for him during the procedure but later after all 3 were in bed I had a good cry. I really needed it. Here's how his ear looked after his stitches. (Before was just really, really bad. You could see the cartilage coming through.)

This one was taken while we were waiting for the Dr to come stitch him up. He wanted one with me. Jeff was at home with James and Sarah.

already posted on Judy's thread.... for Jeremy and you! hope he heals quickly! and everything with the car will get covered by the guy who hit you!

pixiedust: for a wonderful, relaxing time on the cruise pixiedust:

I feel your pain on Jeremy. When my son Loren was about 20 months old he go a cut on his nose. I called his pediatrician and they fit him in. They had me give him a big dose of Benedryl before he came in. Then I had to hold him down while the Dr stitched him up. It was one of the worst experience I have ever had as a mom.

I hope you have a great cruise!
