:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Good for you! Enjoy both trips!

No letdown here! We went over Christmas 2006 for our 2nd trip and had a great time, and I was anxious as DS turned 18 while there, and he was not thrilled at first about going. The morning we were leaving I asked if he had a good time, and he said yes, he had more fun than he thought. As for the rest of us, we enjoyed ourself and can't wait to go back!

For us, the second trip didn't quite measure up to the first. I think it was the whole awe factor the first time - we were so impressed with the details. I remember running around the room going, "Oh, look! Mickey soap! Mickey heads on the wallpaper!" And I remember being amazed at the shrubbery and trees shaped like animals and such. The second time, I kind of just expected the details. However, each subsequent trip has gotten better - it is fun to find our favorites and bask in all that is WDW! Of course, our first and second trips were without kids.

Now, our fourth trip was the first with kids and that was better than the first trip - it was so fun watching the kids experience WDW for the first time. The second trip with kids was also pretty good - we got to experience some stuff that we had wanted to do with them the first time but were unable. I am already looking forward to next years trip and trying out a couple of new experiences - there is just so much to see and do that it has never been the same trip twice!

We have been to Disney 2 times in 2 years and going back in June. You will not be letdown at all. We actually enjoyed ourselves more last year becasue we knew more about the parks and how everything worked.
We also stay off site due to being on a budget also. I have found a great villa about 15 minutes from the Disney gate. If you are interested send me a message and I will give you the contact info. Have a great trip!!!

Well I guess if you saw everything and did everything the first time it may be a bit of a let-down. Of course I can't count how many time I've been there as a kid and now with my own kids- and there are still things I have not seen or done yet. :) I think quite the opposite- as others have suggested you will probably get more out of your trip since you already know the drill a bit. Have fun!

I never get bored as Disney! Each time I have gone I leave feeling like "ok, I have my Disney "fix" and it's over." But instead it starts anticipation building for another trip of things I haven't done or even knew about before but then I start planning for another trip every couple years so the anticipation continures to grow. My DS-17 admitted last night that the only he gets let down is because as an only child he doesn't have anyone to have fun with! Can you imagine not having fun with a mom who loves Disney?!:rotfl2:

We've been taking our now five yr. old ds since he was ten months old a couple of times a year. As sooon as we hit I-4 we start looking for the signs and then we all get excited as we drive off of I-4 onto one of the Disney exits. That excitement intensifies :jumping3: as soon as we drive under one of the Disney 'arches'. Our ds is an old pro at going to WDW but he still gets excited and so do we. There are always new things to see, do, experience, and eat.

Every trip to Disney gets better and better every year. They always have new things going on and you discover new things each time. Since you have already been before, your family and you know what you like at Disney and can eat more and different places your second time. Later!

This is the situation I am going through right now. Last year was DH & DS9's first visit to WDW (I've been twice before). We book 4 weeks out so everything was rushed and full of excitment. This year we book 11 weeks out and so far (other then actually booking the trip) I have yet to fully get excited about going again. Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to our trip, I'm just worried that everything went so perfect last year that this year won't.

I think part of it is the extreme stress I an under at my job (anyone ever work with lazy people who do nothing but criticize the job that you do :furious: ). I do know it'll be nice to get away from this FREEZING COLD (w/c -20 brrrrrr).. When will I start getting really excited??? Hopefully soon

Sorry for the rant :(

You can stay at POR in the Bayou rooms w/ 5 people. They have trundle beds - the mansions do not. We stayed there last year - the resort is beautiful and offers so much! Enjoy!

Its hard to control the situation sometimes. On my last trip this man was very rude to my son on the airplane. I put him in his place but my son seemed traumatized from me yelling.

You know We had our first trip last year in May and we were blown away by how much we loved it. We never would've thought in a million years that we were Disney people...whatever that meant. But from the second we came home all I thought about was going back. Out of sheer luck my husband struck a conference in January at the swan/dolphin....we joined him and all stayed at CBR(our new favorite) and I don't know if it was going at a different time of year or different resort but we loved it more I think. The weather was different but still good and now I wanna go again. I don't even know if I can wait until next January. ...
I think we will go again next January ...but CBR pool will be closed so it will force us to go to a new resort ...probably POR. I just can't stay away from these boards. I come on every day and each day try to think of a way to come back in August for some free dining ....any excuse really to get back before January/
You know Sunday my husband actually said to me "What do you think a Disney cruise is like? You think we should do that?"
I just about cried....he is addicted as I am. He doesn't know about this site yet though.....Keeping that one to myself.
Yeah.....
Each day after I shower I put on the body shop orange lotion that I first took to Disneyworld and each morning I close my eyes and it reminds me of there. (someone told me to take a new scent away with you and you will remember it as a disney smell when you come home....it works.)
Every time my 9 year old son smells me with the ltotion on he says "you smell like disneyworld"
Ahhhhhhh
Have a Magical Day.

I think you will find it as exciting as the first time, and as others have said you will be able to enjoy things you did not get to go to previously, or know exactly what you really want to go to. I have been several times and still have not made it into the Robinson Tree House. This past Sept we finally rode the railroad which was a pleasent trip through MK, so I really don't think you will be disappointed............

OK, let me be a voice of caution. We went to DisneyLand and six yrs later to Disney World. Well, we were expecting 'World' to be different and were let down by that. The whole time we were like, we have already done this and this etc. Now the way to have combated that would have been to look forward to the Fav's and to see the smaller things we missed out on, but instead we spent an extra day at EPCOT which I found truly amazing and I cant wait to get back this summer. So really, its more on how you approach it, dont go expecting lots of changes and see the things you didnt last time and youll have a great time!

For us the 2nd time was just as fun if not more. Definitely alot less stressful! Seemed like there was so many unknowns the first time. But, from the moment we got there we knew we would be back. It was THAT great for us. The 2nd time we went to some favorites, saw some things we didn't see the first time and just relaxed because we were at WDW.

You will have a great time. There is so much to do, there will be plenty of firsts the 2nd time too!

We LOVED our first trip to WDW last Sept! The kids were 11, 4, and 18m and had an absolute blast. We stayed at POR in two rooms and had free dining - - really had a blast.

I'd love to come back again this coming September, maybe even get free dining again, but we'll probably have to do some belt-tightening and either stay in two rooms at POP or one room at a Deluxe with our family of five. God forbid, we might even have to stay offsite.

So anyway, my question is this: is the second time back to WDW as wonderful as the first? It seems like it may be a letdown, since everything was new and the thrill of discovery was everywhere. Especially if we're on a budget this time, although the kids won't notice where we stay or that we eat CS a few more times than we eat TS...

Can anybody share their experience returning to WDW with kids? Were they still thrilled, or starting to get a little "less impressed"?

Thanks!

I have to say ours was better!!!! Eventhough I had done some research on the dis, I still felt overwhelmed and felt like I had to rush to see everything, this second time around we were way more laid back and had a fantastic time

We have gone to Disney so many times that you would think our kids would be bored with it :rotfl: But they look forward to it every single time. You're right...it doesn't matter to the kids where you stay as long as there is a great pool:banana:

We have done the budget way and the top of the line way and it was always great!:cheer2: You and your kids will have a great time each time that you go! Keep us posted on how it turns out!:tigger:
