I had decided to have Saturday as our "free" day, so we got up and after a breakfast in the food court (beignets, cinnamon buns, and Mickey waffles for the boys), we headed over to WinterSummerland for some miniature golf.
We love this place! We did both sides and neither was crowded, but we got there right as it opened (10am). By the time we finished the second round we were all hot and ready to hit the pool area! We enjoyed the refreshing water (even I went down the water slide!) and had a snack at the poolside bar (nachos and hot dogs). After several hours of waterplay, we went to get ready for dinner.
We drove over to Boardwalk (the only day we used our vehicle was Saturday) and walked down to ESPN Club for dinner. When we got there, we were pleasantly suprised to see that Rod Woodson was there that evening! Because both boys and dh are huge football fans, this was a great thing! We asked for and got a table up close to the stage. Our server was the worst we had all week (Matt P) with hardly a stop by our table to check about anything (of course all of the groups of women probably kept his attention elsewhere! :-( ). But, my boys barely noticed that they never had a refill since they were so excited to see Rod! We got autographs and pictures afterwards, and my youngest ds was so awestruck he asked Rod a question that he swears was a different question!
After dinner, we took the ferry over to YBC to finish with dessert from Beaches and Cream. Wow! First of all hard to find, since we had never been there before, secondly, the CROWD!!! The line to get a table inside was way too long, the line to get something to go was out the door! While dh grabbed a table, I stood in line - first to order, then a second line to pick up my order! The servers were wonderful however, and I would love to go back on a less crowded night (what was I thinking on a Saturday!). The nicest gentleman helped carry our desserts out even though he had been waiting a longer time for his food take-out. Such wonderful people you meet at Disney!
Walked out past the Stormalong Bay, headed back over to get a boat to Boardwalk, was told there wouldn't be one! So, we had to take the boat to Swan/Dolphin and walk back over to Boardwalk. By this time we were exhausted from the walking, headed back to the hotel so we could get an early morning start on Sunday.
