Part 1 - HOW IT ALL STARTED
I love reading everyone's trip reports so I am going to attempt my own starting with a pre trip report for our upcoming vacay in August.
However, I am not great with technology so bear with me as I figure this reporting out as I go along. So, fingers crossed this will work and be helpful to others.
I love to travel and have always enjoyed the planning aspect of vacations -especially as a type A personality.
Me and Disney:
As a kid:
My name is Michele. My first trip to Disney was when I was 10 with my parents, sister and favorite Aunt and Uncle - that was about 40 years ago. We stayed offsite but did eat at the Poly and while cutting into the Mickey butter I announced I would be back in ten years and stay at the Poly.
Adult:
Fast forward and I did indeed stay with my sister at the Poly 10 years later and laughed when my sister reminded me that my pronouncement had come true.
Married:
Years later I honeymooned at GF RPC and we stayed there again two years later. Those were the times I was so depressed when I returned from Disney. Indeed, in those days I just loved Disney and couldn't wait to go back -but life got in the way in all the best ways and we did not return as a couple.
First born:
In fact, it wasn't till 8 years later that I made it back to Disney. That time with my son (4 1/2) and my sister and her family. We stayed Poly club level. We just loved the Poly.
The following year I was blessed to stay again at the Poly CL with my son for a trip with his best friend and family for the boys' 5th birthdays in November.
My baby girl:
My husband lost all interest in Disney after our adult trips- which was not a problem because it was great spending time with my son and hubby could be with our young daughter. Unlike many people I don't believe there is any reason to take a toddler to Disney if at all avoidable.
Last year- Mother/Daughter:
So fast forward -my daughter started asking to go to Disney about two years ago.
Having saved enough money for such a trip I planned a once and done family Disney extravaganza.
However, my son was not interested in another Disney vacation -which pleased hubby immensely because he did not wish to return either so the boys went to Texas to see some Pro baseball games and visit Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. They had a fabulous time.
Well, the boys bailing frankly made the Disney trip planning much easier. Indeed, I could focus the trip solely on my daughter and her likes.
However, during the planning my husband could see how very excited our daughter was about the trip and after reminding her she wouldn't be able to do everything she wanted in one trip he offered that if she wanted to return in a year she could. What?! Who was taking her on that trip?!
2015 Trip:
I must say I did a really nice job planning our trip last year. But, I must admit that Disney has changed so much and I found the trip more stressful and way less fun to plan than my past trips. We stayed the end of August, 5 nights, courtyard room at WL. We had a fantastic trip!
Most of my photos from last year are too large to upload here for some reason but here's one from Crystal Palace that seems to work.
This year's Mother/Daughter trip:
So, of course before we even left on our trip last year my daughter knew she wanted to return this year. The only question was where would we stay?...
