I am trying to get together a schedule of what to ride the first day and the second day at Disneyland. We will be going on a Wed (3/1)and Thurs(3/2). Fri (3/3)will be spent at Cal. Adventure.

So.. here's a couple of scenarios. We plan to be there when the park opens or before to get in line.

1) Send the guys in the party to get fastpasses for Indiana while moms take the kids to fantasyland. Do all those rides that we can and then move on to Adventureland and Frontierland.

2) Head straight to Adventureland, get fastpasses for Indy. Do Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Pooh, Splash and BTMR.

We will do Early Entry Thurs which is Fantasyland so I thought maybe we should wait to do those rides on Thurs but chances are that we will do all the other rides quickly and then head to Fantasyland anyways and then have huge lines.

What do you all think? Just trying to figure out whats going to be better as far as wait times.

TIA,
kelly

I was there yesterday and I would say definately do Fantasyland first. Send the guys to get FP to Indie and have moms go to Fantasyland. If there is more than one adult going to Fantasyland I would put one mom on line at Peter Pan while the other mom takes the kids around to all the other rides in Fantasyland. Based on what I saw yesterday, unless you RUN to fantasyland at rope drop (might not be easy with kids) there will be a line at Peter Pan when you get there. All the other rides in Fantasyland will be walk on until 10am with no lines at all.

I was able to do Pirates of Carribean twice yesterday in the middle of the day. There was a line but it went VERY quickly. So I wouldn't waste precious morning hours there.

I did Jungle Cruise yesterday at around 7:30 pm and there was no line, so I would wait until later in the day for that too.

I would get FP for everyride that offers one and save them for the end of the day. Do the rides without FP earlier on. You can save your FP for as long as you want...they don't hold you to the window at DL.

Thanks. Great advice. I think you are probably right about the lines in Fantasyland.

I just recomend to someone in another thread, that if you are really intrested in getting the most rides in- sign up for www.ridemax.com Its about $15 for 3 months or $25 for a year. Pretty cheap compared to the price of the trip. You will tell it what day and time you'll be at the park, as well as when you would like break (for parades, meals, etc). It will give you a schedule of what rides to do in what order, as well as when to get fast pass. Even if you dont use the plan exactly, you can run the numbers a couple times and decide which day and times to do which rides. If you are there multiple days I recomend using ridemax one day- so you can really focus on rides, then just taking in the sights and sounds of the park at a slower pace the other days.

One good technique is to have each family member pick their #1 choice in each land, then make sure you honor that prior to repeat rides.Sometimes, something someone was really looking forward to was never the "logical" choice.....but DL is ultimatly an emotion based place. :)

OMG that is so true! Our last day at Disneyland last September we HAD to do those canoes because my daughter just had her heart set on doing it. We missed out on the parade doing those dumb canoes I had been putting off each day we were there. But she loved it so it was worth it. And when we went with my parents in December of 04 we had to ride the Mark Twain Riverboat about 5 times, its my 80 year old dad's favortie thing. Now every time I see that thing I tear up knowing we wont' ever get to ride that with him again, so I am glad we rode it as many times as he desired since that what Disneyland is all about.

Thanks for all the great advice. You are totally right about not getting to certain rides. DH really wanted to ride Indiana Jones last year and we had fast passes but couldn't seem to get back over to Disneyland from Cal. Adventure on our last day there so he missed out. Unused fast passes are a real bummer!

We will make sure everyone gets to do their top choice this time and maybe not worry so much about the rest. I'm too cheap to pay for ride max so I'm trying to just come up with a loose schedule. Mostly so when we get in the park we dont say " Ok, what's eveyone want to do?" and not have a clue where we are heading first. That's just wasted time.

Thanks again. These are some great things to think about.
