Hard Rock Cafe was wonderful!! We had lunch there while at Universal and the service and food was great. The selection and portions were large. Loved looking at all the stuff. A++

Mythos was not good. The selection was slim for lunch. Two DD's had the raviolli, one had the adult chicken, I had the oriental salad - all overpriced, small portions and blah. We're not picky, and I don't mind paying for the atmosphere if the food is good, but the service was poor also. DH had a spicy chicken pasta that was good though. Maybe desert would have been a better idea here. D-

Oh, we had icecream bars in the Dr. Suess area that were really good (especially the one with nuts).

Do you really think the Asian chicken salad portion was small? I swear it is the largest salad I've seen anywhere. It is very tasty too. sorry you didn't like it.
I certainly wouldn't say the selections are slim, did you happen to only look at the quick lunch menu and not the full menu?

I was there last week and wanted to try Mythos and it was closed. I can't remember which day, either Tues or Wed (it was a busy week!) I was surprised it was closed though, it was in the afternoon, I thought for sure it would be open??

Sometimes Mythos closes after lunchtime (3:00 PM is when they used to close)

Sorry you had a bad experience there, I always eat there and have never had a bad meal or service.

I wanted to eat there! So, we went to the Enchanted Oak, we ate there 3 times last week! I love the burgers there, and the vibe. , It's our favorite.

I couldn't finish my oriental salad. It was huge!!!

Sorry, that you didn't enjoy it. I love their bread. I could eat just that and their caesar salad and be happy.

Was this the oriental salad you had?

Was a massive portion the day we went :confused3

WOW. That's a big salad! I really want to go to Mythos.

This post reminds me of my daughter. She takes photos of her food she's eating with her cell phone. (She had pics of one lone egg roll on a plate, some soggy cereal, etc)

:rotfl2:

We finally decided to try Mythos on Friday evening, we drove over to the parks and to our dissapointment, it was closed for dinner. It kind of looked like they were cleaning up after some special event or something though.

The park was PACKED with middle school children too, so maybe all that was related.

David R..... they usually aren't open for dinner

It depends on the park hours. If the park is closing early, Mythos does too.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience. We ate their twice on our last trip and loved it both times. It was definitely the best theme park food we've ever had! The portions were also HUGE, and the atmosphere was amazing. We'll be going back a few times this summer!

A good attack plan for IOA, is to do the thrill ride tour, going clockwise (skip Dudley and Popeye). After your rides on Dueling Dragons, it will be about 11:30am, when Mythos usually opens. Go in for lunch at this time.

I recommend the Cowboy burger or the Wrap of the day. This will easily fill you up. If you want to save some money, two adults can share 1 meal, and then you can try some of those shot desert glasses. You get free bread to start, and a sandwich comes with plantain chips.

If you each try a sandwich, you'll be stuffed. You can take the left overs with you.

Either way, it's best to head back to the hotel room after lunch, rest, and come back to the parks later in the day at 4pm.

I agree with HRC being a good value, not neccessarly gourmet, but more than adequate with fast service and good drinks.

Tip: did you know there's a park entrance behind HRC that's usually quite dead for fast entry to IOA? ( or was it US?) On a very busy Friday afternoon there was only one attendent at this entrance and she was bored and reading a book....meanwhile, every middle school kid in Florida was waiting in line at the main entrances.

Mythos...I had the oriental salad based on the recommendations on this board. I found it pretty good and not too small. Prices were up there for in-park dining, but Mythos was well worth the wait....which was my only complaint. We waited for servce 30 minutes after being seated at 1:30, and it took another 45 min for our selections. Over two hours total. By far, the slowest service we received all week of our spring break.

My salad did not look like the picture above. It was smaller and didn't have much flavor--maybe there was a different chef the day we went??

We were only given one menu, so I don't know if there were more options. Our waitress was not friendly at all either. The restaurant is cool inside, but for us it wasn't worth the price.

crap, now thinking about Mythos Im craving that BBQ Buffalo chicken wrap with mashed potatoes...good healthy (lol) food...

Where is this? I remember, years ago there was a walkway to the Hard rock. I remember passing the Pycho house while walking to the hard rock. I think this walkway was in the studios, but I don't remember where. I don't remember seeing it on recent trips.

from inside US, you walk down the "alley" next to Jimmy Neutron. The entrance/exit is across from the bathrooms that are next to the old Nickelodeon studios
From HRC(if facing the building) you walk around the right hand side of the building.

I am planning on going to IOA 5/13/06 and i will have to stop in at Mythos and see what has changed to cause the slow service comments. I have not been to Mythos since just before Mardi Gras so i am long overdue for a meal there. :smooth:

That was the old hard rock cafe, which is not used anymore, but the building is still clearly there behind the Curious George play area
