We just got back yesterday and thought we'd give our opinions on the restaurants we ate at.

Breakfast
Tusker House - We liked it a lot, the food was hot and fresh. The characters came around and didn't feel rushed. They signed autographs and had pictures taken. We don't normally take long with characters so others might find it rushed. We had an 8:15 ADR but were seated closer to 8 and we were done and out in the park at 8:50. Unfortunately, there they let people in early and there was already a long line waiting to get on Safari.

Whispering Canyon - This was a disappointment. Service was slow and the food was just ok. We got better food at Roaring Forks for a cheaper price.

Kona Cafe - The food was better than WC, but nothing we'd go back for. 3 of us had the Tonga Toast, it was good, but I had it once and that's enough. DH had blueberry pancakes and he said they were good. I'm glad we tried it, but probably won't return.

Crystal Palace - We had an 8:00 ADR and was seated pretty close to that. As soon as we got back from the buffet, we saw Eeyore. The others characters followed close behind. By 8:40 we were done eating and had seen all the characters. Again we didn't feel rushed but others might. The food was fresh and hot and we enjoyed it.

Lunch

Sci-Fi - DH and I split a burger, it was good, but nothing special. DD had the popcorn chicken and she liked it. We split the candy bar dessert and it was just ok. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but it's not a place we'll likely go to again.

BOG - I really only booked this to see inside the castle. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. DH had the braised pork and he said it was really good. I had the kids turkey sandwich, and it was good, but I had them leave off the sauce. Would have been better been with some mayo and cheese. DD had a grilled cheese and fries. The best park were the desserts. We had the chocolate cupcake and an eclair. Delicious!

Dinner

Garden Grill - I always enjoy this restaurant, it is a relaxing meal. The food was good, but I didn't care for the dessert. I don't like berries, but everybody else liked it. DD shared her cupcakes with me! We saw all the characters and some twice.

Trails End - I've always wanted to try this restaurant and it never seems to fit into my plans. We really liked it, very good food. The fried chicken was awesome. I think it is a really good value for a Disney buffet.

Whispering Canyon - Although we didn't like breakfast, we really enjoyed dinner. 3 of the people got the all you can eat skillet and I ordered the chicken dinner. I asked about switching out one of my sides for something else and the waitress just said don't worry about it, he (DH) ordered the skillet. So while it might not be the normal thing, I could have eaten some off the skillet had I wanted. I did eat a couple pieces of cornbread. DD had macaroni and cheese and french fries. The waitress played with us a little, but it was good fun. DD doesn't eat ketchup and people kept asking her if she needed some, but we heard lots of other people who need ketchup!

Ohana - The food here just wasn't the same as it has been in the past. It was still good, but I didn't leave wanting to come back. DH liked the chicken and steak. There didn't seem to be very much ice cream on the dessert. After we went for the first time a few years ago, DH found the dessert recipe online and I've made it several times. I think what I make is better than what we were served this trip.

BOG - My in-laws went here with DD. They said it was good. The only down side was that when they were finished and went to meet the beast, he was on break. My mother-in-law said the line was really long and they finally just left without meeting him.

Overall we enjoyed our dining experiences. This will be the last time we go to some of these places, mostly the buffets and all you can eat meal simply because DD will be considered a Disney adult on our next trip and I can't justify paying the adult price for the amount she eats.

Glad you liked Crystal Palace breakfast, we tried it for the 1st time this year and had a great time.

Glad you enjoyed Trails End. Its probably the best OOP value for a buffet on Disney property and I was impressed. I hear you re 10 year old kids & prices on the DP. When I take my youngest niece in the future, we will likely just go OOP and eat mostly QS (sharing) with 1 or 2 favourite TS (again, mostly sharing) because she simply doesn't eat enough to justify the up front price.
