We have just returned from 5 days at POP. Our Mousekeeper kept the room spotless and we had towel creations 4 of the days. (I think she was off 1 day) I know not all Mousekeepers know how to do these, so we were pleasantly surprised each day. I told the front desk how pleased we were with her and I left a note to be given to the Mousekeeping Supervisor. I'm sure they get enough complaints, I wanted to be sure they heard something positive. BTW, I found every CM there I came in contact with very pleasant and helpful. :D

we just got back today.... :guilty: and i am sooo sad...but our mousekeeper didnt leave ONE...NOT ONE LITTLE TOWEL CREATURE.....NOTHING....we were loooking in all the other windows...christmas trees.....candy canes.....baskets....us....NADA...ZILCH!!!!

I didn't get anything either but when we moved over to ASSp we got one towel critter but my sons Mickey was lost.

all the candy canes, decor in the windows, etc are usually made using the guests "stuff" at least that's how it was when we were at pop... my kids toys (esp ds' sword collection) made it into our window daily... and while we had no fancy towel animals/creatures, we did have a lovely sculpted towel toothbrush holder that the kids got a great kick out of! (plus lots of interesting poses for the stuffed animals and dolls we brought along for just that purpose! LOL!)

For those without towel animals:

Did you Tip Mousekeeping Daily?

Only reason I ask is that we stayed at POR last year and figured we would tip at the end of our stay.....

First two days...no animals

on third day we noticed a different mousekeeper and asked if they change schedules/rooms often. She said they do vary from day to day.

I felt guilty :guilty: for not tipping day to day.

After that we left something everyday.

Guess what....after that we had a new towel animal/creation each day.

Just a suggestion from my own experience.

I made up Mousekeeping envelopes for each day and left them next to the TV and no one ever took them! So after 2 or 3 days of doing this, I stopped. Instead, I left them all out on the desk when we left. I hope they got to the right Mousekeepers...I even put the day of the week on each envelope. We didn't get any towel animals, but had cute turndown service each night with my DD's stuffed animals. :flower1:

Yep I tipped my Mousekeeper everyday and no towel animal. Even my kids toys were not put in windows or doing special things. Not that it matters but just goes to show that tipping doesn't guarantee these things.

They did a great job with our room.

We've stayed onsite about five times I think, (POR, YC and WL) and only had a towel animal once when we stayed at the WL in a junior suite. The mousekeeper made a cute rabbit with our toothbrushes inside! As a matter of policy, I always tip $5.00 daily for our family of four. I leave a note that says, "Mousekeeping, Thank You!" and sign it with our last name. There's no way that they wouldn't know the tip was for them. I'm sure as others have suggested, that it's a matter of the mousekeeper knowing how to make the towel animals, and then having time to do it. I'm embarassed to report how thrilled I became when we were lucky enough to get one, however!
