Day 3 of our vacation was Friday, October 22nd. I woke up to Mickey's voice on the telephone. Is there a better way to wake up?! My DH went to the airport to get my sister and we tried as hard as we could to relax all day (yeah right!) since tonight would be our very first MNSSHP! DH, my sister & I all decided we would just wear Halloween shirts & the kids were to be in costumes. We had wised up from the day before & took Disney transportation to Magic Kingdom. Wow! What a difference! Well...we got to the park at 4:15pm & there was no way my DS could wear his Buzz Lightyear costume & not sweat some pounds off his 35 lb frame, so we decided he would wear his Monster In Training shirt until it cooled off a bit. Thankfully this was alright with him as he was too busy Pin hunting. We went to Casey's for some hot dogs & my little Minnie ran into her 1st of many Minnies that night! She was so excited that she must of picked the best costume to be, because there were MANY MINNIES! We went & did some of the park before being shuffled to Tomorrowland. Most of us wanted to rides & DS wanted to trade pins! We managed a bit of both. Right before we went to Tomorrowland we stopped & put on DS's Buzz costume. He was now starting to get in the Halloween spirit! We rode Buzz Lightyear twice & took DD on Space Mountain (her new favorite). Just then the kid parade started & DS was in his GLORY. There for the first time ever in person was STITCH! My Son is just crazy about Stitch, so to see him in the little parade walking by him was 1 of the highlights of my night.
We trick or treated some & made our way over to Toontown, which we had completely skipped the day before. We got to see JoJo & Goliath & Minnie. DD was VERY excited to see Minnie to show her she chose to be her! Minnie was equally excited!
The place was pretty crowded but it was such a festive atmosphere that is just didn't matter. We started Trick or Treating down the back path that links Tomorrowland & Toontown. DS was excited because the Cards from Alice in Wonderland were the ones handing out the candy & he really likes that movie. I think he feels cool that he likes it & his sister has never really sat through it, so he knows it & she doesn't! Then came the BEST part of our whole night!! We get to the end of the trail & we're basically back in Tomorrowland by Space Mountain...but out stroller is in Toontown. So, we start backtracking and as we're walking my DS spots a Card, the 6 of Hearts to be exact, and he starts running after her saying "I'm following you, I'm behind you". Well, she's got a big ol' heart covering her head and can't hear him. But believe me, that did not stop him! "I'm following you, I watch your movie, Here I AM!" It was so cute & now he's running after her...so DH says loudly "Buddy, she can't hear you" to which she stops in her tracks & turns to my son on 1 knee & says "Are you talking to me?" And goes into detail in her British accent about how the Queen must have sent him to check on her. He's cracking up & she's asks him if he'd like to go on a roller coaster. Let me say loud & clear My son DOES NOT like roller coasters! So, he's a bit leary & DD is jumping up & down thrilled that a card is talking to us. So, we start to follow her up the path back to Toontown & she's talking to DS & DD the entire time. As we get to the beginning of the path a Cast member tries to send us away saying you can't come back through this way. The 6 of Hearts tells him we are with her & through we go. We felt like Royalty! We get to the front of Goofy's Barnstormer, which none of us had been on before & she says "No, no, this is all wrong" and turns around & walks us up the exit. There was a bit of a line but not for us! When the next car got there, she tells the ride operator there are 6 of us & on we go. My sister in the back, then me & DH, then the 6 of Hearts with 4yr old Buzz on 1 side & 6 yr old Minnie on the other. Connor is asking her the whole time "how scary is this" & she just told him to hold on tight to her because she was scared too! They both screamed the whole ride & when we got off, my DS kept telling us all night how he held the 6 of Hearts because she was scared! It was too sweet. We took a picture of her with the kids & bid a fond farewell to our new friend before the Queen caught up with her. Wherever you are 6 of Hearts....From the bottom of my Heart...Thank You! What that did for my little guy you could only imagine!!
We weren't quite sure how we would EVER top that experience so we didn't try. We did some more rides and then made it to the castle to see the fireworks then back to the Hall of Presidents to get our photo taken & get good seats for The tale of the Headless Horseman. That was great & the parade was AMAZING! Seeing the characters in costumes is a must see! By now the kids & DH are fading fast & our candy bags were pretty full so we start to make our way to the front of the park. We're sleepy, excited & Oh So Happy! Thankful to not have to drive back & to actually get a seat on the bus, we made our way to our rooms (grateful my sister has a connecting one) with our sleeping angels. It truly was a Magical Night
