Our parade float yesterday

The Homeschoolers had their very first float in the big parade yesterday. Some of you may recall me asking for advice here and why they judge the floats... Well guess what we got?
A 3 foot tall trophy!!! Woo-hoo!

If anyone has ever even half way considered doing a parade with a group and hasnt, wow, I suggest you give it a try at least once! We had about 40 kids and as many parents and it was an absolute BLAST for everyone! We really kicked off the Christmas Season in a great and fun way!

One of the most fun parts to me was handing out all that candy! We had almost 200 pounds and gave it all away. It was great fun! I was giving it to all the adults and elderly as well as the kids... and I feel like I made so many smiles! The adults, and certainly the grandparents dont expect to get a lap full of candy. FUN!!

Our church created a float for a local parade for the first time last year. We had a great time and we also won a prize.
I didn't walk the parade route and hand out candy but my dd did and she said it was a lot of fun.
