My dd will be turning 4 in July. We are inviting an even number of boys and girls to her party. She has decided she wants to do a Pirate and Princess Party. I was planning on doing Pirate goodie bags for the boys and Princess bags for the girls. I'd like to do a combined Pirate and Princess theme on the invite. I've been looking for invitations but all I can find is either princess or pirate, but not both. I think I'm going to have to make my own. Does anyone have any creative ideas to incorporate both pirates and princesses on the same invite??? Thanks for the help!

I would keep it simple if it was me...I'd just do a little rhyme

Are you a princess
dressed up like a lady?
Or maybe a pirate
with a ship and a matey?
If so - come on aboard
and join the fun!
We'll have games and
cake for everyone!

Or something like that - you can just do some clipart with some magic wands and swords or pirate hats all over the border.

We are going to do the same thing! My DS turned 3 in January and DD will be 6 in July. We celebrate his half birthday along with hers, so we will do a pirate and princess party this year. Looking for ideas, too...

At my DS's 4th birthday party, we also had pirates and princesses. Just an idea that was a huge hit: At our local craft store (Michael's) I bought each child a put-it-together-yourself foam treasure chest. The kids made them at the party. I also went to the party store and purchased tiaras, rings, bracelets, chocolate gold coins, etc, and hid a big "treasure." After the kids made their own treasure chests they went on the treasure hunt and got to divvy up the loot. I thought it was a cute idea, and was something to actually DO at the party, but the kids really really loved it. And so did the moms - if you could have seen us all sitting around working on those treasure chests. It was a riot! :-)

I think the party sounds DELIGHTFUl. Just a word of warning with having princess and pirate treat bags. It is very possible that you will have a girl insisit on a pirate bag or a boy on a princess bag. A lot of the little boys in our preschool are VERY into the princess thing. Just might want to have an extra or two of each to prevent tears!!

We are doing a variation of this on Saturday for my dd's 7th birthday. She's having a Mermaids and Pirates party. We've got the different themed goody bags, a treasure map table cloth, and I made a Pin the Tail on the Mermaid game for the kids to play. They will be making sea animal and pirate ship crafts at the party. The cake is going to be the ocean with Ariel on a rock and a pirate ship sailing on the water.
