Our oven now only warms - the stove top does still work

We do have a microwave, toaster, and free standing rotisserie that all work.
We may wait till President day sales
We need a free standing oven/broiler with a stove top.
We are electric, not gas.

I found good review for a GE 5.3 cu ft Freestanding Electric Range with Self-Cleaning - Stainless Steel model
Model JB645RKSS
Home Depot & Lowes has it for $809
Best Buy has it for $854
It is a 2022 model

So I am hoping in Jan/Feb 2023 it will go down in price

Anyone own it ?
Do you like it ?
Any comments welcome before we go out an buy it

i have been tracking this same model, different finish, since before Thanksgiving. I wish we had purchased it right away as it was lower in price. I thought it might be cheaper as part of post holiday deals. Nope.

The non-discounted price remains the same as pre-Thanksgiving. I am also hoping for a sale in Jan/Feb.

Reviews are positive as was Consumer Reports.

Based on error codes and the alarm sound the oven made when malfunctioning, the circuit board needs replacing. It is no longer manufactured by anyone. We are not comfortable purchasing a refurbished board.

If they have a good sale at Best Buy - we are GEEK members - we get free haul away and free delivery - nice perk
We bought our new washing machine and dryer there - after 25 years of use of our old ones - yes the new ones look and work better - they gave us free delivery and free disposal of our old appliances - just being a member of the GEEK squad :)

right now my DH thinks it is a Range Oven Temperature Sensor for $45
So I ordered one - if it does not work - them we will do a sale on a new Stove/oven free standing appliance :)

Not exactly sure how old our stove top and oven are but I know they stopped manufacturing them in the 70's. We have been in the house 25 years. My husband replaced a part a few years ago. Now the temperature is way off. When it started going it had an area on the dial that didn't change anything. From about 300-400 degrees just didn't happen. Now the temperature is going all over the place and not consistent. Parts are getting harder to find and more expensive. I am leaning towards a convection oven/microwave combo to fill the gap until we do a full renovation. The kitchen is about 2 or 3 renovations behind an average kitchen and I know it is time, but can always think of a reason that keeps me from pulling the trigger.

We are leaning towards the MER8800fz by Maytag
On sale at best buy = we will get it in 6 weeks
Hey we have been surviving without an oven for 2 months
We can survive a bit longer :)

Ours quit working and it was the heating element. Bought a replacement on Amazon, paid a repair woman to fix. Cost like $100 for the part and labor, total. Probably could have done it ourselves but nervous about messing up something that uses that much power.

The replacement element is about $60 at Ace Hardware. All you have to do is turn off the 220 power, snap out the element, and snap in a new one, turn the 220 back on. Why spend hundreds on a new oven when just about everything can be fixed cheaply.
