I've been losing posts so I wanted to seperately post about our two new experiences. Both were for breakfast.

We finally made it to Spoodles. Our eldest son had the fruit plate which was beautiful and huge. DS2 had the all you can eat child's plate which was the perfect amount of food for him. My husband had a frittata which he said was good. Unfortunately I ordered the poached eggs on toast rounds....the Italian I believe. The tomatoes and other veggies that accompany this dish formed a soup that drowned the eggs and toast. Good flavors but I don't care for soggy toast. Our service was fine and I'm sure we'll be back but I'll order differently.::yes::

Our other new restaurant experience was Fresh for breakfast. My husband is not a fan of buffets but based on Uncleromulus' review we tried it and it was a hit. This will be a must do for us when we're at BCV.

Freshly squeezed oj and Starbucks coffee are included in the price. Various more exotic juice combinations are offered too. I tried the antioxidant which included about 8 different fruits that am as well as the detox which was beets, blueberries and something else...maybe ginger? Both were good. My husband requested his own combination of fruits which he loved.

Eggs are made to order and our omelets were very good. The rest of the buffet was great too. There were little chocolate croissants that were delicious. I had one which was just enough to satisfy my chocolate tooth.:teeth:

Service was great too. We'll be back next trip.

Thanks for the reviews - you've made me even more excited about trying Fresh in December!

I'm sorry to hear there were problems with your trip, especially ones involving a trip to the emergency room. I hope that everything if fine now, and I hope that you still managed to have lots of Disney fun in spite of the problems! :D

Trust the ER visit was a short one??? And nothing serious--

And I think you are right about that anti-oxidant juice at Fresh-- I recall a taste of ginger.

Would be interested in your experiences at AP and CG.

Thanks for the good wishes, Kaycee and Uncleromulus. All is well now. The ER visit tool 7 hours and I think an unnecessary test. I'll be doing my homework before next trip just in case we ever have to visit an ER again while at WDW. I was so unimpressed with Celebration ER....lots of nurses standing around chatting...very little patient care. We gleaned more info from a book a pharmacist loaned us at Walgreen's than we did from the DO or nurses. There must be another ER somewhere!

End of rant!

natalielongstaff, lunch at CRT is a tradition for us although my husband never eats there other than soup some days!;) He is a good sport and humors us. DS1 and I had the Coachman salad which we both enjoy. DS2 had the child's cheeseburger and helped me with my sandwich...another tradition.

We did see Cinderella in the lobby as we checked in around noon. She was lingering for pictures that day. You can't count on a character but we've usually seen one either before or after lunch.

I do apologise for posting like this but I'm tired of typing away only to have my posts disappear. I am a slow typer however!

Kaycee, be sure to let us know about your experience at Fresh. Yum!

Uncleromulus, CG was great as always.

My husband had the romaine salad and salmon. DS1 split a Triple Cheese flatbread with his fiancee and then had a mango chicken flatbread as his entree. He was trying to find fairly bland foods. DSF had the fish of the day which I believe was halibut. DS2 had the goat cheese ravioli and then the three cheese flatbread. I had the beet salad with goat cheese which is a little different than it used to be....different beets I think. Still very good. My entree was the filet in tamarind BBQ sauce. Medium rare, tender and flavorful. We also ordered the warm Valrhona chocolate cake and two of our party split that.

Everything was wonderful except for the chicken mango flatbread. Lots of mango on it which made it mushy. We all tried a bit of it and no one really cared for it.

Gary was our server and did a great job. He also offered my husband samples of 4 different chardonnays which was a very nice touch.

I would be interested in hearing about Kona Cafe, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe and Brown Derby.

Thanks!

Well I tried posting about Artist Point and of course it disappeared. I'll try again tomorrow which might be better anyway because I forgot what was included with the Chef's Selection which my husband ordered.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe was good as usual. We had lunch there on Saturday and it seemed busier than usual for lunch. I've heard that it is a favorite for locals and this might confirm that.

Our server was Janel and she did an excellent job. We shared calamari as an appetizer. It has a heavier breading than that at Mama Melrose but the fish itself was tender. The sauce that is served with it is unusual but Janel asked if we would like some marinara sauce too.

My husband had meatloaf which was a special as I recall. Veal, bacon and I don't remember what else. Very, very dense and served with mashed potatoes and gravy. He declared it good not great. Our son had the kids cheeseburger which was a very good sized burger. I had a special combination of a "mini" pizza combined with a salad. You could pick any pizza. For an extra two dollars, I chose the spinach salad. The pizza wasn't mini at all...I could only eat half.

We all enjoyed our meal and will return.

This is pretty bad. It looks like this thread has lots of replies but almost all of them are mine!

Brown Derby was very nice for lunch as always. Two of us had the Cobb salad, two had the steak cobb salad which is a 6oz. filet on top of a scoop of Cobb salad on top of Texas Toast. Our younger son had a cheeseburger which is not on the menu but when we've asked we've always been able to get the last few years. My husband had a Amber Bock on draft. The Cobb salad is very finely chopped but very flavorful. I avoided it for several years after we had experiences when we couldn't recognize the turkey. But it has been excellent again for at least a couple of years now...probably much longer.

Rhonna are you interested in Kona for lunch or breakfast?

Sorry to hear you had a trip disruption! If you find out a different hospital to go to, let us all know. I'm going with three seniors in February, and you just never know. My uncle just had hip replacement surgery and I have visions of one of the performers at Hoop Dee Doo plopping down in his lap and....... Well, you get the idea.

Jenifer, what a special treat for your father and relatives. Have fun!

OK, for the Chef's Selection at Artist Point my husband chose a tomato and mozarella salad (he thinks), the salmon and the berry cobbler. One son had the free range chicken, the other had salmon, DSF had the potato chive potstickers as her entree which she enjoyed but found to be spicier than she expected. I had the pork chop on Tillamook cheddar cheese macaroni with a Maytag crust. We all enjoyed the entrees. I also had the beet salad which had very thinly sliced beets of a couple different varieties. I enjoyed it. Two berry cobblers, a vanilla ice cream and one piece of very rich chocolate cake (which I could only eat half of) completed our meal. I did the flight of wines but have no notes. I gave my ice wine to DSF because she enjoys it so. We also had a bottle of Colmbia Chardonnay for the table.

Our server was friendly but service was uneven. One appetizer came out and she stoped by about 10 minutes later to tell us another would be out soon!

We all enjoyed our meals but it took 2 hours which is a little too long for a 3 course meal for me. I was getting antsy! Everyone else was fine. Just can't take those moms anywhere I guess.
