Here's Bella. (Take a look at those eyes and guess where her name comes from! LOL! Now that we know her personality better we realize she should have been named Alice. But she knows her name now, so.... :upsidedow )

Someone dropped her off. She's such a sweetheart I can't imagine someone dumping her. She's so well behaved. great with the kids. Good witht he other dog and cat. She's really just a doll. We've all fallen in love with her. :lovestruc Especially DH. (shhhh....don't tell him I know! LOL!) He's not a *dog person*. He's said no more Dogs. And absolutely no more inside dogs. I told DH to take her to work and see if anyone wanted her. He wouldn't do it. He *let* her stay in the laundry room at night when it got cold. (She then chewed the molding and part of the sheetrock off the wall! ACK! I just knew she was a goner! LOL!) Night before last he bought her a $100 kennel/crate. Guess who let her run all over the living room last night? And who decided last night she would be an inside dog if supervised? Yup...DH! She's got him wrapped1 :rotfl:

We haven't been to the vet yet. Probably won't be to the vet until after the New Year. We've spent a ton on food and bed and crate/kennel just to KEEP her. Now we have to scrape together another boatload of money for that first vet visit. We think she's very young, but can't tell HOW young so we don't know if she's finished growing. She LOOKS like she should be a large breed. But I'd guess she's about 30-35 pounds. Not nearly as big as she looks like she SHOULD be. And she's a WEIRD (!) color brown. The girl at petsmart called her color *mocha*. She's a greyish brown. With a little blond thrown in. Anyway, here's her pics. (Sorry they're not good pics) She's SUCH a sweetheart. :)

Any clue what she is?

She's adorable. Thanks for the great story. Too many sad dog stories lately. No guesses from me on what she is :confused3

Where did she get dropped off? Just in the street?

I have no idea but with the coloration and that face, she looks a bit like some sort of retriever.

SO cute. :)

My guess is she's a Heinz 57/Labrodor. Thanks for taking her in! One more dog to have a happy home! :thumbsup2

I think she has some Lab in her. If that's the case, they have wonderful temperaments but can be terrible chewers! You gotta take the good with the bad!;)
She sure is adorable!!!:goodvibes

We live in the country. We are the 3rd to last house on our road. (Well not really...it's about a 4 mile long *through street*. There are 2 houses after us and no more for about 2 miles) So we get LOTS of *stray* (dumped) dogs around here. She just showed up in our yard. We asked around and she didn't belong to anyone around here, so.....

For all the lab/retriever guesses....we figured that. We can't keep her out of the water.

Did you see the snow pic? She jumped in the puddles that day! :scared1: She jumps in the pond when it's 35 degrees out!:scared: (DH says <with a *duh* tone> that it's probably warmer in the water. Yeah....ooooo k....:rolleyes1 )

I just wonder what else she has in her because she's *petite*... then again....maybe she'll grow some more. *shrugs*

With those eyes and color you described I would say there could be a dash of Weimaraner in there.

I had that thought too....but again...she's tiny for a weimaraner mix.

I'll know more when she goes to the vet in Jan, but it's going to drive me crazy till them. I would love to know if she's going to be huge. ;)

Her eyes are just beautiful though. So strange colored.

My lab is almost 2 1/2 and he's still chewing. He's in trouble this morning because he got my dd's stuffed animal and de-stuffed it and he ate a big lollypop which was still wrapped. Labs are great though :thumbsup2

She is beautiful :lovestruc ... God Bless you and your DH for keeping her and giving her a good home :goodvibes ...

I think she looks like she has some labrador in her ... her ears look exactly like my dog's ears and he is a lab/shepard mix ... I know that most labradors are usually black, chocolate, or yellow, but there are grey labs too ... :)

she looks like a chocolate lab with maybe some border collie mixed in?

As the Mom of an 11year old Weimaraner.... I'm pretty sure I see some Weim in there. They do have a long haired Weimaraner- Our weim weighs about 70 pounds and she's a bit on the chunky side. I'd say Weim/lab/golden mix.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever is my guess.

She looks like she is still fairly young too. How old did the vet say she was?

ETA: oops - reread that you haven't been to the vet yet!

I was going to say the same thing!!!

And that is a good looking dog!

Thanks for taking her in and giving her lots of love...
