Well, I guess they aren't all that new, LOL, I have just been too busy to check it out. I added a screen porch to my house awhile back and have a doggy door on it for our dog. He is too stupid too go through the flap, so there is just the hole there. Well, month or so ago, I kept seeing this little bird out there. First I thought it was getting in by mistake, but it kept getting in and seemed like the same bird. So, yesterday, my cats wanted to get out on the porch, so I closed up the hole, so they wouldn't escape. All of a sudden I hear all this loud bird chirping and went out to find two little birds on tree by the porch, screeching at the top of their little lungs. So I got the ladder and checked in the rafters and found a nest with 8 tiny birds in it! They had all their feathers, and looked almost as big as mom and dad. They were so quiet, but they were wide awake. I guess mom was telling them to be quiet or something. So I put the cats in and opened the hole and in came mama, checking on her babies. I wanted to take a picture of them in their nest, all snuggled up together, but when I came home today, they were all flying flying the screen porch, practicing flying. I pulled a table up to my door so the cats could watch. Torin said it was Cat TV, LOL. Here is a picture. I think they are Carolina Wrens. I am sorry if it's too big, I don't know how to resize it.
