Our neighbors are paying for it!

There is a man in our backyard fertalizing, treating our yard. Went out and told him he has the wrong house, we didn't call for this. He said our next door neighbors called them to treat their yard and ours, and they are paying for it! How nice and sweet can you get! Maybe she saw DH whacking down all the bushes/weeds and felt sorry for him. (or maybe she doesn't want a crappy looking yard next to hers, and knows we are cheap)

That's good that you can feel that way about it, but my DH wouldn't care WHO was paying for it, he wouldn't want anything done to our yard that he didn't think should be done. I think that's pretty presumputous of them, to tell you the truth.

LOL This happened to us earlier in the year. With only one treatment we've had a fabulous looking lawn all year! Yippee!

I'd a blew a gasket if a neighbor did that to my lawn without asking first. Oh, wait I did blow a gasket years ago when a neighbor started mowing and trimming branches several years ago in my yard. He even pulled up a surveyors marker.

I know a few people who have actually done this to neighbors lawn. All of them had the same reason for doing it....weed encroachment! Weeds kept spreading into their lawn from the neighbors. Even if you spray the yard for weeds, as long as there are weeds nearby they will spread.
My side and front yard is currently under attack from the neighbors by some weed that spreads out like a vine. We are thinking about having their sideyard sprayed as well to get rid of it. We will talk to them first though before having it done.

Found out it was just a fertalizer treatment, now DH is really gonna have to cut the grass.

Guess Simba and Cali weren't doing a good enough job....

Don't know what kind, maybe it is a Boo treatment since Simba and Cali's wasn't good enough.

My husband feels like treating both of our neighbors yards for dandilions and weeds. They seem to get blown into our yard from both sides.

Keep in mind that not everyone feels comfortable with having chemicals (herbicides, pesticides) sprayed in their yard. I have several pets and two young children. I'll live with the weeds.

Are they putting their house on the market? I know dh and I have discussed asking the neighbors if we could weed kill in their yard if we end up selling.

That sounds like something I've considered. My neighbor's yard is full of weeds that love to migrate.

This is back on page one! It was just a fertalizer treatment, no pesticides, fertalizer to make the weeds grow bountiful.
