Our (My) was May now September 2014 trip plans

No front of line passes for Cabana Bay, no big deal though.

We have 4 days, decided on 3 park days and one pool hopping day :) then check out on Friday and head to Boardwalk Villas.

Cabana Bay is a no frills but really, how long do you spend in your room? It has a tv and small fridge, it'll be fine :)

Not that I'm trying to get you to second guess your decision....but......

We stayed at RPR and the FotL pass was invaluable for us. Admittedly we were there in early October and you're going to be there early September; but with Diagon Alley opening up, the crowd levels at UO are likely to be up.

DS was also tired out when we finally got to UO (it was right at the very end of our trip) and he spent a bit more time in the room than we had thought. The FotL pass allowed us/him to get to the big attractions he wanted to ride without too long a wait; and after he was comfortable in the room, it allowed us to run back to the park and hit more rides again.

FYI - When we were there (mid-week), some of the standard wait times were up there with Disney wait times e.g., Despicable Me was 40 - 50 minutes, Transformers was 50 - 60 minutes, Spiderman 30 - 40 minutes, MiB 10 - 20 minutes, Shrek 30 - 40 minutes, RipSaw was over an hour. We by-passed most of the queue and in some cases, we went back and did the rides twice or three times.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to join PIO on that one. I was visiting in the quiet month of September and found the passes invaluable (worth every added cent of the hotel cost).

Those parks are so big and hot, and even without queuing I found my nerves fraying towards the end of the day. At least with the express pass, you can see more in less time.

Plus you get to feel a bit important bypassing all the queues.

Does Cabana Bay have early entry to WWOHP as that is also invaluable? Our queue for Forbidden Journey was about 40mins during early entry. I dread to think what it would have been later in the day.

I don't even know if I have a reservation or not LOL

If I don't I can revisit my thoughts quite easily, can't believe I did that big stuff up :headache:

I think we'll have until 2nd Sept to change any Universal reservation, thats what the confirmation (with the email I never got) said when I *thought* i'd made the booking.

I made a reservation yesterday at Cabana Bay resort for 5 nights (or so I thought), no confirmation email received, deposit not taken.

Great, waiting on an email back from them.

I didn't take down the confirmation number because it said it would be emailed to me shortly

:rolleyes1

What was I thinking?

Oh that's right, I wasn't really...

This is through the Universal website? I'm not at all surprised. One of the most rubbish websites out there. I remember trying to book tickets for the special fireworks package a couple of years ago and the site sending me in circles to the point I just wanted to throw my computer screen across the room...! I haven't even thought about booking my park tickets for this year yet - gotta be in the right (super relaxed) frame of mind lol

I hope your email eventually comes through! Is there no way to login with just your email?

I booked on the Universal website, yeah, still waiting, no reply as yet :worried:

It isn't all that user friendly but I thought it was just me LOL :rotfl2:

I should have an email in the morning I think (hope)

As i'd hoped the email was there waiting for me this morning, I think i'll wait and see what crowds the HP expansion brings before I change our resi.

Exciting times!

Oh my goodness!

Time really is flying.

Universal is definitely booked after a little hiccup and not getting my confirmation email.

Still wondering what to do with our free week though.

SF would be awesome but with accom prices up there with NYC :scared1: PS would be more relaxing and cheaper.

Who relaxes on holidays anyway??? :rolleyes1

Becpee,
In regards to your spare week, if you are thinking about something relaxing Had you thought about maybe flying to Cabo San Lucas, a short 2 1/2 hour flight from lax, beautiful beaches, cheap accomodation....
Our friends went last year at the end of a US holiday and loved it, just a thought!

I'm just thinking something drivable I think, as we get into LA on the Saturday night and have already booked our flight from MCO

Such a hard decision! :confused3

I'm with Gogo on this one. Might be worth going somewhere to relax....somewhere you haven't been before....with golf and resort and spa.

WAMUMOF4 I am loving the turn the dollar is taking :D
I even got online last night and bought myself some clothes at Macy's because it would he cheaper than buying the same sort of thing at Myer ;)
Every couple of cents means more USD for us ;)

Did you see the $ :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Had quite a jump just today... :scratchin ahh, RBA minutes came out - likely no more rate cuts this year. “If the economy evolved broadly as expected, the most prudent course would likely be a period of stability in interest rates.”

Time to buy! :thumbsup2
