Day 8 – Saturday, September 23, 2006

Our last day…

After getting in around 1 am from MNSSHP, DH and I decided to let the girls sleep in, I had plans with Miss SMIG to go to MGM that morning, but no way, she was sleeping like a little baby… actually they were both sleeping like little babies, so we (DH & I) decided to go for a dip in the pool. You are not going to believe this one, but the pool was closed again. I really wanted to sit in the spa for a while, but I just couldn’t.

I was not a happy camper, it was 6:30 in the morning and all I wanted to do was relax in the spa for 20 minutes… well anyway, DH and I went to get more coffee (yes for me), and I noticed that Fulton’s was open, I knew that I had a package shipped to Fulton’s, so I stopped in and picked it up…

We had 11 am ADR’s at 1900 Park Fair, so I new I had plenty of time to finish packing, which I did. We took the bus (believe it or not, it was all 4 of us), to Magic Kingdom and then hopped the Monorail to the Grand Floridian… What a beautiful hotel, I walked in and turned to DH and said “the next time we come, we are staying here!” He wouldn’t answer me.

So we went upstairs to 1900 Park Fair, oh how beautiful… not what I expected, we had a great breakfast, Miss SMIG not only received a birthday crown, but a placemat too.

She was a happy camper. DH decided to go to see if we could ride the little speed boats, well luck have it we were able to ride them there. And we did just that. Knowing that we had to catch a 3 pm ME bus, and having taken our luggage over to the luggage hold area, I still haven’t checked out…

From the Grand Floridian we took the bus to Downtown Disney where Miss SMIG needed a birthday present, Miss SMIG has a REALLY HUGE problem, she can never make up her mind. Time is ticking and it is getting closer and closer to the magical ME hour, we had 4 counters left, so I sent DH and HollyLynne to Earls to pick up some sandwiches for the plane ride home. Earl’s was crowded, so DH and I decided that he would wait and I would go back to the POR get our carry-ons together and check out, but this time it was after 2 pm. I got a little nervous when we stopped at Typhoon Lagoon, when I really wanted to get to the POR… well I did get lucky, the drive pulls into the French Quarter, next stop is my stop…

We finally get to the bus stop, Miss SMIG and I run to our room, double check and then check again, looks like we got everything… (but I still can’t find my Magic Kingdom magnet… got to be somewhere), Miss SMIG and I take all our carry-ons, and off we go to the front desk to check out. By this time it was 2:45 pm, ME would be coming shortly and I still had to claim our luggage (airport computers were down so we had to check in at the airport), I go into the lobby and see this huge line, a wonder CM was walking out of the registration area, I stopped him, and asked him if he could help me, I needed to check out, that our ME bus was coming at 3 pm. He was wonderful, took care of everything for me… I got a printout of our bill, we charged a few things to our room, but it really wasn’t that bad, I have seen WORSE…

Off to the luggage holding area, had the bell man bring over our luggage, DH and HollyLynne are getting off the Downtown Disney bus with food in hand and just as I am ready to set down our ME bus come, just a little past 3:00 the ME bus arrives.

Then it is off to the airport, which had not line to check in with the airline, to security, quickly maybe 10 minutes including my laptop, but noooo it can’t be that easy. One of the nicest TSA employees asked me if I have snow globes in my bag. It did not occur to me snow globes… water… snow globes… AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – well, I had a carry on that held the not one but TWO snow globes – so we re-packed the bag, placing all jackets around the snow globes and off I was to check the bag… Well since I had checked two bags, the lady at the counter today me I couldn’t check anymore bags, my husband.. he only had one bag checked, well that worked, I got it tagged, and off I was to security, which too me about 30 minutes to get through and I had NOTHING on me but my boarding pass and ID… but still the TSA workers were taking the bottles of shampoo/condition and even a can of PAM away from someone.

Well anyway, I finally got to the gate, we thought our flight was going to be delayed due to weather, but it wasn’t. We arrived in Newark, I waiting for our bags, and of course, the last bag to come out was my snow globe bag. But the snow globes were safe, they made it through with now problems…
