Tuesday dawned another rather overcast morning so acting in my tour guide mode I suggested that we head to the studios as there were a lot of inside shows plus lots of Characters for Hannah to meet. We entered the courtyard and Hannah spotted her first character Donald Duck. Whilst the Blackies waited to get a photo with Mr Duck we took our little Miss on one of her fave rides The Flying Carpets.
As soon as we got through studio one we noticed some big changes from last year. There were lots of fenced off areas and two large concrete structures, one which is now obviously looking like the TOT . The other I discovered from posters is going to be Crushs coaster as part of Toon town along with a new Cars ride. After Hannah had rejoined us for a second go of the flying carpets we headed of to my favourite show - la la la la Animagique ! The girls loved it (and us big kids too!). After that we spotted that Mickey
was at his caravan (between Cinemagique and The TV studios)with only a small queue so Hannah and I rushed off to meet him whilst the other grown ups had a coffee and stayed with Jess.
It was almost time for the Moteurs show
and since wed seen it last year we parted from the Blackies again and headed into Cinemagique instead (which we had missed out last year as we thought it might be too old for Jess and as it had been so sunny
wed played under the singing in the rain umbrella instead). We neednt have worried Jess loved it as much as us and was fascinated about the man being able to go in and out both worlds although the woman couldnt. It was nice to hear her perspective though as she has more of a fuzzy line between fiction and reality and she didnt think it was odd that the man could go in but was more confused that the woman couldnt follow him out.
We came out to a very rainy day and walked up to the Moteurs show exit to wait for our friends. The show was running late so we managed to get a slot for the parade whilst we waited. We all watched the parade together. Kenny had been trying to convince one of us to go on the rockin roller coaster all morning so on ( a mad
)impulse after the parade went passed I grabbed his arm and on we went thankfully with little queue so I had no real time to change my mind.
We then headed into Rendez-Vouz de stars for a reasonably nice lunch , although I think we confused one of the counter staff be ordering pasta with Jesss fish instead of chips (my daughter is not a big chip fan but they seem to go with almost everything at DLRP especially on the childrens menus).
The Boys then headed off to Armageddon and Jenny and I took the girls shopping.
Jenny and Hannah are obviously more serious in this pursuit as by the time they came back out Jess was dancing in the street (literally ) in studio one. We caught the Cine Follies show and then headed back home.
That night we had our poorest meal at a restaurant near the Marriot resort (and the delivered Pizzas from the night before took some beating in this category) so our recommendation for future Marriot guests is to eat at Disney before heading back. The Daddys stayed out after this ,although not too late as they closed the hotel bar round about them( they came home as very grumpy old men - Kenny even woke me to tell me how unimpressed he was with this
. WE (Jenny and I had bartered this for a shopping evening on Wednesday) so we had already arranged that the all girls would head out earlier the next day for our first visit this trip to Salon Mickey whilst our grumpy old men had a lie in with their now non-existant hangovers .
