Pre-Trip Planning/Information:
Cast of Characters:
Alex - my wonderful husband, age 26, fourth trip to the World.
Marsha - that's me! age 25, sixth trip to the World.
Our last trip to our favorite 47 square miles of Florida ended on November 3rd, 2001. Alex and I took my brother-in-law to Walt Disney World for ten days as a high school graduation present. When that trip ended, I was under the (totally wrong) impression that we would make an annual trip to the World for the rest of our lives! (Talk about the perfect opportunity to buy into the DVC! LOL Still working on Alex for that one...)
Well, obviously, life happens. And it sometimes throws a few curves. Since November 3rd, 2001, we have been through job promotions (3 for Alex, 1 for me!), the purchase of our first home (yay!), my mother-in-law getting a kidney transplant
, my grandfather-in-law passing away
, etc, etc. Like I said - life happens. We spent the last two years focusing on updating our house and becoming more financially stable. Unfortunately, that meant no trips to Walt Disney World.
Our fifth wedding anniversary was May 21st of this year. We had talked about taking a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate, but, somehow, (I wonder... LOL) the subject of Walt Disney World came up. We have been undergoing some major fertility treatments and even though we know there was a definite medical reason for it - we thought that maybe a nice, relaxing trip to the World was just what we needed. While we were looking into dates, I came across the Spring Dream Maker package deals and we decided to move our trip up one month (from May to April).
We were booked for four nights at the Pop Century Resort (March 31st - room only because we arrived in Orlando 10:15pm; April 1st-April 4th Spring Dream Maker with Silver Plan) and two nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (April 4th to April 6th - room only, which forced us to relax a little bit! LOL). Alex wanted to book the whole trip at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but once I told him the price difference (he was intent on getting the Dream Maker Silver package), he was more than happy to split our stay. LOL
PS - remember that little bit about us going through major fertility treatments? Guess what?!?!?!? THE DAY BEFORE we were scheduled to leave for vacation, we found out that we're pregnant! As of today (6/04), I am 14 weeks along. We are SO excited! We had our first ultrasound on April 19th and we found out that I'm carrying just one
There was a chance that we could have twins or triplets... we are just as happy with one!!
