WHAT WE PLANNED ON HAPPENING:

We'd set our wake up call for 7:30am, get up, shower, and get dressed. We'd also call both sets of parents to let them know we'd arrived in one piece (and we wanted to check on Noah). We would head down to Classic Hall by 8:00am, re-check-in, eat breakfast, and be on the bus headed for the Magic Kingdom by 8:30am. We would arrive at the Magic Kingdom at 9:00am and ride the rides of our choice before eating lunch at the Crystal Palace at 11:55am. After lunch, we would ride one more ride and then hop on the monorail and head over to the Contemporary for Alex's parasailing session. After that, we would hop back on the monorail (riding in the front with the pilot) and then catch a bus back to Pop Century to relax and swim for a couple of hours. After relaxing/swimming, we would catch a bus headed for the Magic Kingdom and ride the rest of the rides we wanted to do before catching Wishes at 8pm and then hopping on a boat and heading for Fort Wilderness for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue at 9:15pm.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:

We did set our wake up call for 7:30am. And, we did get up, shower, and get dressed and we were heading down to Everything Pop by 8am, like we had planned on. Well, we decided to re-check in before breakfast - it could only take a few minutes, after all, right? Might as well get that done so right after breakfast we could head to the parks...

You got it - it took a total of FORTY-FIVE minutes to re-check us in. Apparently, we had gotten ANOTHER new cast member checking us in! And, to make things even more difficult for her, we asked if we could pick up our Hoop Dee Doo and Spirit of Aloha tickets at that time, too. You could see smoke coming out of Alex's ears! I think if he could have, he would have jumped over the counter and checked us in himself! LOL Anyway, by 8:45am, we headed into Everything Pop. Alex decided that he wanted to "browse" a little bit before breakfast - well, we ended up looking around in the store for the next half an hour. By now, it's 9:15am and we still haven't had any breakfast. I keep telling myself that we're on vacation and I should just relax and go with the flow. Easier said than done for this Disney commando.

By 9:30am, we were both sitting down at a table in the back of Everything Pop and eating our breakfasts. Alex got a breakfast bagel - egg, sausage, and cheese, and I got a watermelon fruit cup and a danish, which Alex ended up eating because I didn't want it. We also purchased two refillable mugs. By the way - we saw a TON of refillable mugs from other resorts - All Stars, Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans. Noone said anything to any of them....

We finally finished breakfast and headed out to the Magic Kingdom bus stop by 9:45am. As luck would have it, there was quite a line already! And, there were THREE people in wheelchairs waiting to get on the bus! We finally were on the bus and heading to the Magic Kingdom by 10:25am. We arrived at the Magic Kingdom and were walking through the turnstiles by 10:45am. We had one hour and ten minutes before our lunch PS! LOL As we had never visited in the spring before, we were quite surprised at just how busy the parks were during our stay! Nothing like in October, where almost every ride has a wait time of 20 minutes or less! This time, almost every ride had a wait time of 40 minutes or longer! LOL

I had wanted Alex to get a haircut at the barber shop, but he refused, so we headed over to Buzz Lightyear - one of my favorite rides. Sure enough, the posted wait time was 45 minutes and the fastpasses were for between 11:20 and 12:20 - we'd be at lunch. So, we skipped that one, for now, and made our way over towards Pooh. Alex wanted to stop and look in one of the gift shops (Merchants of Venus) along the way, so we did that. We finally made our way to Pooh and the posted wait time was 40 minutes, with fastpasses for between 1:45 and 2:45 - we'd be at the Contemporary for Alex to go parasailing. Skip that one. I was beginning to think we wouldn't be doing ANY rides this morning! LOL

We made our way through Fantasyland and noticed that the posted wait time for Snow White's Scary Adventures was only 10 minutes, so we hopped in line. We'd never been on this ride before - it was kind of cute. I can understand how it might be scary to some children, though. After Snow White, I looked at my watch and noticed it was 11am. Fifty-five minutes until our lunch PS. We headed over to Mickey's Philharmagic where the posted wait was only twenty minutes, so we hopped in line. What an AWESOME movie. We both LOVED it. Just fantastic. After we were done there, we headed over to the Crystal Palace for lunch. We checked in with the CM at exactly 11:55am and were given a pager. We waited on a bench on the porch and just relaxed for a few minutes. There was a family with a little blonde-haired girl, who looked to be about three years old. She, apparently, was looking for her father and she ran right into Alex's arms! Her grandmother came by and said, "Wrong Daddy!" It was really cute. I think it made Alex's day. Children are just drawn to him for some reason - he's going to make a wonderful father.

Our pager went off around noon or so, and we were led to our table on the right hand side of the restaurant. Our server came by and took our drink orders and then we went up to the buffet and loaded our plates. I took some pizza and chicken fingers off of the children's buffet - they were very good! Also - for the past few weeks, I've developed a craving for pickles. It used to be just sweet pickles (with pineapple - yum! I know - it sounds really gross, but I love it!), but now it's sweet or dill pickles. Anyway - I found dill pickles on the buffet and I was in heaven! We met and took pictures with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. It was lots of fun. When we were done eating, we settled the bill with our server and then headed outside. We didn't have enough time to do another ride, so we just browsed the Main Street shops on the way out.

We had wanted to ride up front with the monorail pilot, but we didn't have enough time if we had to wait, so we just hopped on the monorail and rode it over to the Contemporary. By the way, the weather was just beautiful today. About 72 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We checked in for the parasailing with Sammy Duvall's watersports and we were told to wait near the dock while they got the boat and the parachute ready. Since there was only two other people parasailing with Alex, I was able to ride on the boat with them. It was a lot of fun to see Alex 600 feet in the air above the boat! I took lots of pictures! Alex took some pictures from up there, too. He said he really enjoyed it.

After his parasailing adventure, we headed back up to the monorail station and waited for the next monorail. Alex asked if we could ride up front with the pilot and he said "No" in a really grouchy way. Well, excuse us! LOL So, we rode the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom and then hopped on a bus headed for Pop Century. We arrived at Pop Century at 3:00pm and we had been expecting a package from netgrocer.com to arrive with groceries that I had ordered. I called down to the front desk and they said that they would look into it and give me a call back. Well, by 3:30pm, we still hadn't heard from the front desk, so Alex called down. They said that they hadn't received the package yet. Now, Alex and I were both pretty concerned about this, because we had been told it would be delivered around noon or so. Three and a half hours later - no package. We called FedEx to track the package - and they said that it had been delivered at 11:25am and it was signed for by B.Martinez. So, Alex called back down to the front desk and told them that it was delivered at 11:25am and it was signed for by B.Martinez. They put him on hold for 20 MINUTES! Then they finally came back on the line and said - we found the package, you can come down and pick it up whenever you want to. Needless to say, we were not impressed with the cast members at the Pop Century. I can understand if they're busy, but the service we received from them left a lot to be desired.

We had originally planned on just swimming and relaxing by the pool for a few hours, but because the netgrocer package fiasco took so long, we decided to skip our swim and just head back to the Magic Kingdom. We headed down towards the bus stop. Alex wanted to stop and play in the Fast Forward arcade, so we emptied our pockets and filled the games with lots of quarters. It was a lot of fun, but I was getting pretty antsy about getting to the Magic Kingdom.

We finally made it to the bus stop and were on the Magic Kingdom bus by 5:15pm. Once we were inside the Magic Kingdom, we headed back over to Buzz Lightyear to see how the lines looked. The posted wait time was only twenty minutes, so we hopped in line. Once we were in our car, I was beating Alex by like 20,000 points, but halfway through, his points started to creep up towards mine and then completed past mine! He ALWAYS beats me on this ride! LOL That's okay - we had fun anyway.

After Buzz Lightyear, we headed over towards Pooh to see if maybe we could get on this one tonight - still a no go - the fastpasses were gone for the rest of the night and the posted wait time was 45 minutes. From Pooh, we walked over to It's A Small World. Amazingly, Alex agreed to go on this one (probably after he saw that it was a walk-on! LOL). It is such a cute ride - but once is more than enough for both of us! LOL

After It's A Small World, we walked over to the Haunted Mansion. The posted wait time was fifteen minutes, and I think we only waited like five minutes. This is one of my very favorite rides in the Magic Kingdom. This is the first ride that I remember from my very first trip to the World, when I was in third grade. I just LOVE the hitchhiking ghosts! Adorable!

When we were done riding with 999 grim grinning ghosts, we noticed that Spectromagic had begun, so we headed over to Liberty Square and watched a little bit of the parade. By this time, it was 8:15pm. Originally, Disney had released the nightly show schedule as - no Spectromagic tonight, and Wishes at 8pm. I guess because of the crowds, they changed it to Spectromagic at 8pm and Wishes at 9pm. We had planned on staying an seeing Wishes at 8pm, but we had Hoop Dee Doo Revue reservations for 9:15pm, so we couldn't stay and watch Wishes at 9pm. We'd be late for dinner!

So, after we saw a couple of floats in the parade, we decided that we'd try to head out of the park and catch a boat to Fort Wilderness. Well, we didn't realize that there was no way out of the park while the parade was on! LOL We asked a cast member, and she said that we could try to get out via Tomorrowland, so we hauled our you know whats over to Tomorrowland. We still weren't able to get out of the park until Spectromagic was over. Oh, well, we got some excercise out of it! Just what this pregnant body needed! LOL

We finally made our way out of the park and hopped in line for the Fort Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge boat. We were in the water, heading for the Wilderness Lodge by 8:45pm. Not too bad. Last time we went to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Alex had bought a wallet at the leather vendor, and he wanted to look for another one. We were hoping that we would have enough time for him to do that.

We were dropped off at Fort Wilderness right at 9pm, so we were doing just fine on time. Alex did find a wallet at the leather vendor, and just in time - because she was closing up right as we walked up to her! LOL We checked in for the Hoop Dee Doo and decided not to have our picture taken this time... we already had a picture from two years ago.

Right at 9:15pm, they rang the dinner bell and started lining everyone up for dinner. I wasn't expecting much in terms of seating because we had only booked less than two months in advance... I figured we would be up on the balcony or something, which was fine with us. We'd had PERFECT seats last time, and we thought it would be nice for someone who hadn't seen the show before get those PERFECT seats this time! Well, don't you know, the cast member who seats us walks us to a table DIRECTLY IN THE FRONT AND CENTER of the stage! Almost too up close! LOL We were extremely surprised at how uncrowded Pioneer Hall was! Only half of the tables in the lower dining area were filled. I couldn't believe it! Last time, the whole restaurant was PACKED! Anyway, it was a lot of fun - and it seemed to be more personal, too, with such a small crowd. We both really enjoyed the show. Alex especially enjoyed the unlimited beer! LOL

After dinner and the show, we headed over to where the buses where and hopped on and rode back to Pop Century. We walked up to our room and hit the bed! It had been a long day for us!

HM is the one attraction that I remember from my first trip. I was 4, so that would have been in 1973-74ish.

Great report. I am looking forward to the rest.
