WHAT WE PLANNED ON HAPPENING:

We'd set our wake up call for 7:30am, we'd wake up, shower, and get dressed. We'd be down at Everything Pop by 8:00am for breakfast, and we would be hopping on a Disney-MGM Studios bus by 8:30am. Once at the Studios, we'd do all of our favorite rides - The Great Movie Ride, MuppetVision 3D, One Man's Dream, Indiana Jones, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. We had a lunch PS at the Sci Fi Dine In Theatre restaurant at 12:30, so we'd eat lunch and then we'd head back to Pop Century for a swim and a nap. After our break, we'd hop on the Magic Kingdom bus and then hop on the monorail and ride it over to the Polynesian. We had a 5:15pm dinner reservation for the Spirit of Aloha. After our dinner show, we would hop back on the monorail and head back to the Magic Kingdom. We would do the attractions of our choosing until 9pm, where we would find a spot and watch the Spectromagic parade. After the parade, we would find a spot for the 10pm Wishes fireworks.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:

Last night, we talked about our plans for today. We had a 4:20pm PS for the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose tomorrow, and we decided that we would cancel it. We couldn't see eating our dinner so early in the day. So, I called (last night) to cancel the PS. Well, it turns out that they need at least 48 hours notice to cancel without penalty. If we decided to cancel, we would be charged $20 - ($10 per person). We talked it over and decided that we would just keep the PS. The reason we wanted to cancel it was because we had planned on going to Typhoon Lagoon tomorrow, and we didn't want to "cut our time short" because we needed to be at Mama Melrose so early. So, we decided that we would go to Typhoon Lagoon today and we would go to the Disney-MGM Studios tomorrow. It just seemed to work out better that way.

We set our wake up call for 8am this morning, and surprisingly, we were up and at 'em! Typhoon Lagoon opened at 9am this morning, so we had plenty of time to get ready and get some breakfast. Alex ate his Apple Brown Betty from last night for breakfast, and I just had some peanut butter crackers. We filled up our mugs before heading out to the bus stop to catch the Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon bus.

We were one of the first people to walk through the turnstiles at Typhoon Lagoon. We arrived about 9:05am. Good timing! We had never been to this park before, so we made our way over to the locker rental area and rented a locker for the day. Once we found our locker, we took off our shirts and shorts (we had put our bathing suits on underneath our clothes...) and we stowed everything we thought we wouldn't need in the locker. We kept our sunscreen, two towels, and an underwater camera.

We found the beach area and we grabbed two lounge chairs on the beach. The water was a little chilly, but we got used to it in no time. We decided to try the wave pool first. I LOVE wave pools! We slowly made our way into the water and we just jumped some of the waves. These were the "baby" waves! At one point, they started the six foot waves - well, that sucker grabbed me and dragged me about ten feet! Honestly - it scared me! I wasn't expecting it to be so darned strong! So, beware! I am a strong swimmer, and it really did scare me. We decided that we'd try the much tamer lazy river.

We found one of the entrances to the lazy river, however, there were no tubes floating by. One man who floated by noticed that we were waiting for tubes, so he told us that there was a ton of tubes at the entrance before this one. So, we headed over to that entrance, and sure enough, there were probably a hundred tubes just waiting to be grabbed! LOL So, we each grabbed a single tube, hopped on, and floated around the lazy river. Now, this is what I call a vacation! LOL We floated around for a while. At one point, I thought we had made a complete loop, but a couple of minutes later, we were going by a spot that we hadn't seen before! The river is quite long!

We finally got out when we were starting to get pruny. I wanted to go and check out the shark reef. Alex wasn't too thrilled with it, but he went along with me anyway. We stood at the end of the reef and just watched some people swim by. I don't think Alex would ever admit it, but I think he was scared to do it. Another gentleman told us that we could go down inside of the "submarine" and see the sharks and other fish from there, so we headed down there. It was so neat. We both really enjoyed that. When I finally got up the courage to decide to do it (Alex flat refused to do it), we headed up and out of the submarine. We stopped at a little bridge at the beginning of the reef and watched a little while longer. I finally decided it was now or never, so I started walking to the little hut where you get your snorkeling gear. At the last minute, Alex changed his mind. He said if I was going to do it, he was, too.

We both had our sunglasses, which we obviously, couldn't swim in the reef with, so we asked at the desk if they could keep them there for us. They said that they weren't allowed to. So, we ended up just putting them behind a little bush next to the walkway to the reef. They were pretty cheap, Wal-Mart sunglasses, so we weren't too worried about it. We had to take a FREEZING cold shower before we were able to get in the reef. Once we got to the entrance to the reef, there was a cast member who explained the rules to us (no kicking, keep swimming, no diving, etc.). And then we were free to go!

I went first, although, I have to admit, I was scared! LOL It took me a minute to calm myself down and breathe normally through the snorkeling gear. After that, I really enjoyed it. Right up until there was a guy in front of me kicking his feet away and creating quite a few splashes. I looked down and about six inches below my stomach... there were two sharks! I think they were attracted to all of the commotion, so I got out of there as quickly (and calmly) as I could! LOL Alex had a difficult time with the snorkeling gear - he swallowed some water right in the beginning (salt water... YUCK!), so he basically swam through the reef without using his snorkel. Oh, well. He took some pictures with our underwater camera. Cool.

When we were both out of the reef, we dropped off our snorkeling gear and grabbed our sunglasses - they were still there! Yay! After picking up our sunglasses, we kind of got lost trying to figure out where our lounge chairs were! LOL Once we found them, we decided to just lay down and relax in the warm sun for a little while. It was so nice - it was another one of those moments where you say, "Now this is what I call vacation!" LOL

About an hour or so later, Alex got up and asked me if we could go back to Pop Century. We'd grab some lunch there and just relax a little bit before it was time to leave for our Spirit of Aloha dinner reservations. That was fine with me - it's his vacation, too! LOL

So we grabbed our stuff (towels and sunblock, etc.) and found our locker. We put our shorts and t-shirts on over our bathing suits (we were dry by now) and I went and returned the key (and got our $2 deposit) while Alex packed our bag with the towels and things. We headed out of the park and walked to the Pop Century bus stop. This is where Alex got extremely frustrated with the Pop Century transportation...

We sat down at one of the benches at the Pop Century bus stop (which is the farthest away from the entrance, by the way). We waited about twenty minutes, watching other resort buses pass us by, and finally, we see the Pop Century bus pull into view. We get up from the bench, thinking the bus driver was going to stop and pick us up. Does he? NO WAY!! He looked RIGHT AT US and continued to drive all the way to the entrance. Even if we ran, we wouldn't have been able to catch him. Fine, I think, maybe there's a second bus on the way or something. So I sit back down (Alex stood out near the road, watching for buses).

Well, another twenty five minutes go by before the Pop Century bus pulls up to the bus stop. Alex was furious! While we were waiting for the second bus to arrive, Alex walked over and told one of the All Star Resorts bus drivers what had happened, and that bus driver simply told Alex to wait- that there would be another bus arriving within twenty minutes! He couldn't believe that they acted like they could care less...

Oh, well. When we finally got back to Pop Century, we just walked up to our room, showered, and changed before heading back down to Everything Pop to grab a bite to eat. I had a personal pepperoni pizza and Alex had a meatball sub. We shared a piece of cheesecake for dessert. It was very good!

After lunch, we headed back up to the room and just relaxed for a little while. Since this was our last night at Pop Century, we walked around the grounds, checking out all of the other buildings. I took some pictures- it's such a neat resort! I don't think we'll be back soon, though, Alex will probably remember our not so great experiences, especially after the wonderful time we had at the Animal Kingdom Lodge...

After our walk, we waited at the Magic Kingdom bus stop. The bus arrived about ten minutes later, and once we were dropped off at the Magic Kingdom, we headed up to the monorail platform. I had wanted to ask if we could ride in the front with the driver, but there were two mentally/physically challenged people with their caregivers (I would assume) and they were talking very excitedly about riding in the front with the driver. I didn't want to take away from their experience, so I figured we'd try it next go around. No big deal.

We rode the monorail over to the Polynesian. Once we were dropped off, we had plenty of time before our 5:15pm dinner reservation for the Spirit of Aloha, so we window shopped a little bit in the store. Once we were done shopping, we headed downstairs and outside. The weather was just beautiful. We "hung" out near the marina for a little while before we made our way over to Luau Cove.

We checked in with one of the cast members at Luau Cove and we received our leis. Alex just loved the fact that they were pink! LOL I think he looked very handsome in his lei! LOL We were both wearing Rainforest Cafe t-shirts and the cast member asked us how the food was there - she'd never been there and she wanted to try it. We love it!

After checking in, the cast member told us that we could stand in line to have our picture taken, so that's what we did. The picture turned out really fantastic, but Alex balked at the price tag (I think it was like $22 or something), so we ended up not purchasing it. I kind of regret it now. Oh, well.

When we were done posing for our picture, we kind of just milled around with the rest of the people. People started getting in line shortly after, so we just hopped in line. I think that your seats are assigned, so I don't know how important it is to be in the front of the line... Oh, well. I made a quick pitstop in the restroom while Alex held my spot in line. He said that as soon as I left, the people in front of us asked him to take their picture. He's so cute because he thinks I take better pictures than he does... ;)

The line started moving at 5:15pm. We made our way to the cast members at the bottom of the stairs and we were seated at a wonderful table to the right of the stage a little, but second table from the front. Very good seats. Alex was happy that we didn't have to sit at a table with other people... he's not into that kind of stuff.

Once we were seated, we were brought Polynesian bread (kind of coconutty - very good), sliced fresh pineapple, and vinagrette-dressed salad. I ate the bread and the pineapple, I'm kind of picky about my salad! LOL Alex tried a little bit of everything... Our server came by and took our drink orders - I ordered orange soda and Alex ordered Budweiser (surprise, surprise - LOL). The pre-show started shortly after, we were introduced to the characters. This part was just okay for us... we LOVED when they started doing the native dances.

When the performers took a break, we were served our dinner. We had Lanai Roasted Chicken (yum!), Polynesian Rive, Pork Ribs, and veggies. Alex especially enjoyed the rice. The performers then came out again and celebrated any birthdays, anniversarys, honeymoons, etc. After that, the servers came out of the kitchen with smoking volcanoes and our dessert. It was kind of like a chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce. Alex didn't care for it and I thought it was just okay.

After dessert, the performers came out and really showed their stuff. Alex and my favorite performance was the fire-dancing. It was awesome. I took some pictures, but they didn't come out too great. Oh, well. We both enjoyed it.

During the last couple of performances, I was playing with my necklace and I managed to get it caught in a skin tab that I have on my neck. OUCH! So, I walked over to the bathroom to see if I could get it out - no such luck. So, during the last part of the show, I kind of turned at the shoulders, instead of the neck! LOL I'm sure I looked very weird, but it hurt!

After the show, we walked out of Luau Cove and into the main building. We walked up some stairs, and Alex noticed a "companion" restroom, so we both went in there and he managed to get the necklace unstuck, with minimal pain. Yay! I felt so weird coming out of that bathroom, I didn't even look to see if anyone saw us, because I can only imagine what they thought we were doing in there! LOL

After the necklace/skin tab fiasco, we made our way to the monorail platform and rode it over to the Magic Kingdom. We walked through the turnstiles and browsed some of the shops on Main Street. We headed over to Fantasyland, to check on the wait time for Pooh - it was a 45 minute standby line, so we decided to skip it for this trip. From there, we walked over towards Frontierland. We got caught in a gridlock, people were standing around watching Spectromagic, and they were blocking the walkways. Finally, after about ten minutes, the line started moving again.

We had never done Splash Mountain (together) and it was something that I had really wanted to do... (I know - I probably shouldn't have ridden it - being pregnant and all, but I did just fine). We were about to get in the standby line (posted wait time was 20 minutes), but two people said that they weren't going to ride it and they had fastpasses, so they gave them to us. Disney magic! So, we thanked them, grabbed the fastpasses, and hopped in the fastpass line. Wow - is this queue long or what!?!?!!

I don't know why they had posted a 20 minute standby wait - once we made our way to the logs, there was absolutely no one in the standby line! Granted, it was 8:25pm, and a little chilly (about 65 degrees)... Alex really didn't want to ride it because he didn't want to get wet, but he did it because I wanted to... what a great guy. Anyway - once we made our final plunge, don't I stay relatively dry and Alex gets SOAKED!! LOL (We were both in the front seat, by the way.)

Wishes was supposed to start at 9pm, so once we were out of there, we hightailed it back to Main Street. We found a nice spot, right at the end of Main Street, where we just stood and watched Wishes from there. This show brought tears to my eyes. I was standing in front of Alex, and he had his arms around me and my tummy, and it was just magical. Our wish had come true - we have a child on the way. That was all I could think about. It was so moving. I wished we could stay and watch it again and again and again. Just wonderful.

When it was over, we waddled out of the park with the rest of the guests. We wanted to go to Downtown Disney, and since there were no direct buses, we hopped back on the monorail and rode it over to the Contemporary. Once we got to the Contemporary, we managed to find our way to the bus stop. We did encounter LOTS of teenagers in formal wear. We came to the conclusion that they were having their prom or some sort of formal at the Contemporary... LUCKY KIDS! LOL I would have LOVED to have had our prom there!

Anyway, we managed to find our way down to the bus stop and we waited less than five minutes before the Downtown Disney bus pulled up. We hopped on and rode to the Marketplace. We decided that we would try to get some of our shopping done tonight, so we started in the Christmas store... we were looking for a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament (since he/she is due on December 5th), but the only baby ornaments they had were either pink or blue... no neutral yellow or green, so we decided not to get one. We just browsed around in the store a bit. Alex found a Christmas calendar that he liked - it was felt and it counted down the days to Christmas, but when I suggested that we purchase it, he didn't want to. Oh, well.

After the Christmas store, we headed over to the Disney at Home store. I purchased a large, plastic bowl with Mickey heads on it, it will be perfect for salads. I also purchased a set of four plastic tumblers - in blue and green, with Mickey heads. Very cute, and we have been using them a lot already.

When we were done there, we headed over to the Rainforest Cafe store. We both had Rainforest Cafe T-shirts from our trip in 2000, and they were getting pretty yucky - we wear them all of the time! So, we ended up picking out two new T-shirts.

From the Rainforest Cafe store, we decided that we would just sit on a nearby bench and take a break. We both looked at each other and said, "We must be getting old!" LOL We couldn't believe how tired we were! For me, I'm not sure if it was the pregnancy or what...

After our little mini break, we decided that we would just head to the Pooh store and then catch the bus back to Pop Century and hit the bed. At the Pooh store, we found two adorable onesies for the baby. One is green and says "Tiggers are the best kind of friends..." and the other one is yellow and it has a picture of Pooh and the gang. Just adorable. It was our first baby purchase and we were so excited! LOL

When we were done with our purchase at the Pooh store, we headed back to the bus stop and waited about five minutes before the Pop Century bus pulled up and took us "home."
