Today I had to get up early to pre-check in for our grand villa for the rest of the week. It was about 7:15 a.m., and the castmember said it was ready so we could go ahead and move into it! I was really excited, since this meant we could leave all our luggage in the grand villa while we went to the park - it was such a convenience! After moving all our stuff to the grand villa (which was right across the street from the studios we stayed in the night before), we caught the bus for Magic Kingdom.

After entering the park, we went up to the train station to catch the train for Frontierland. The first train had already left when we got there, so we waited for the next one. Unfortunately, they were having a problem with the tracks being slippery in Toontown, so we waited about 15 minutes. I must admit, this made me a little nervous, since I was afraid we would encounter long lines once we actually got to the rides. I had decided to have us ride the train to save some steps, since my dad recently had knee surgery and I was concerned for him with all the walking.

I shouldn't have worried, though, because once the train did come and we got off at Frontierland, Splash Mountain and BTMRR were walk-ons. We rode both of these in quick succession, and then made our way to Haunted Mansion and enjoyed this ride. Moving on to Fantasyland, we saw Mickey's Philharmagic (my dad's favorite attraction in Magic Kingdom), rode Peter Pan's Flight and the Snow White ride, and pulled fast passes for Winnie the Pooh because the wait was about 30 minutes. Tara was the only one who wanted to ride Tea Cups, which had about a 10 minute wait, so we told her to meet us in Cosmic Ray's and we went there for lunch. The food here was surprisingly good. Larry and I split a turkey wrap - it comes as two wraps, so we each had one. I ate the pasta salad that came with the wraps and Larry got a side order of vegetable soup to go with his. Others in our group got salads and sandwiches and everyone was pleased with their selection. When Tara joined us, she had plenty of time to get her lunch and eat it before our fast pass time came up for the Pooh ride. We went back to ride that and then moved on to Tomorrowland. Space Mountain had a 25-minute wait, so we pulled fast passes for it and then waited in line for the Stitch ride. This also had a 25-minute wait, but the line moved quickly since it takes so many people at one time for the pre-show and then the ride itself. We all liked this ride - I thought it was cute, although not something I would want to ride each time I was in Magic Kingdom. We then went back to ride Space Mountain, which now had a 45-minute wait time posted, and it was awesome to walk past all those people in line - fast pass is the greatest! Larry was getting tired at this point, so he went back to the room for a nap. The rest of us hit the Buzz Lightyear ride, which I will never again ride with my daughter - she had the stupid car spinning around in circles the whole time and it was making me sick! Apparently she thought this was hilarious and continued to spin us around, until I threatened to puke in her lap - then she finally stopped!! Anyway, lesson learned - I will ride this ride alone next time and maybe I can hit at least a few of the targets!

This was all we wanted to do here, so we walked over to Adventureland and rode Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. We waited about 15 minutes to ride each of these rides, and by now it was about 4:00 p.m. and we were running out of steam. We all went back to our villa and my mom made spaghetti for dinner (which was really good). Then myself, my brother, sister and DBIL went back to Magic Kingdom for Spectromagic and Wishes. These were both excellent, except that Tinkerbell did not fly before Wishes. I don't know if it was because it was a little windy or if it was because it had rained earlier in the day, but I was a bit disappointed. Still, Wishes was beautiful and I am glad we went back for it and the parade - it made for a nice ending to our first day!

I haven't seen Mickey's Philharmagic or Wishes yet. I can't wait to experience both in April!

Sounds like you guys had a great trip so far (besides your daughter's cold).
