After a fabulous Christmas stay just 2 1/2 weeks ago, we met my M-I-L at Caribbean Beach for a long weekend. We had a fabulous, although COLD time!

CBR: Very nice resort! I posted a separate review on the Resorts Board, but to recap we had a great, quiet room and excellent mousekeeping! We definitely enjoyed our stay and will return to CBR again!

Friday 1/17: Arrived at 4 PM. Checked in and dined at the CBR food court (it was just OK). Then it was off to Downtown Disney for shopping and ice cream at Ghiaradelli's (YUMMY!). We enjoyed shopping for the 2003 merchandise!! After we went back to the resort, DS, DD and I went to Fantasia Gardens to play miniature golf. It was SO cold and we were the only ones there! We were so cold we were silly!

Saturday 1/18: Up early for Animal Kingdom. Walked right onto the safari ride and saw lots of animals. Even saw warthogs! Then it was on to Rafiki's Planet Watch which was spectacular as always! Then it was back to catch the Lilo and Stitch character greeting. That was all we had time for so it was back to the resort for a quick lunch (we eat in the room) and a short nap. Then it was off to MK at 2 PM to grab a spot for the Share a Dream Come True Parade. MK was very crowded and folks are so PUSHY about their space! We had arrived in plenty of time for a good spot but folks kept trying to step in front of us. Come on folks, what gives??!! The parade was really good. A hint, be sure to watch the parade in Liberty Square because the Mickey and Pinocchio globes revolve. It was SO cool! After the parade we rode Pirates of the Caribbean (good) and the Jungle Cruise (hokey!). Then it was off to Buzz Lightyear and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (a very cold ride!). Dinner was next at the Crystal Palace (YUMMY!). After dinner we watched SpectroMagic in the freezing cold! There were no butterflies and no Ariel. Ariel would have been one frozen mermaid!! After the parade we wandered out to the buses and watched the fireworks. Then it was back to the resort to watch the day's video cam tape and then a great sleep!

Sunday 1/19: Up early to go to MGM. After breakfast in the room we hopped down to the bus stop. No bus for 35 minutes!! Wow!! Finally arrived in MGM to find that the big Stitch outside of MGM was gone. :( The kids rode the Rock-n-Roller coaster but passed on the Tower of Terror. Then it was off to the Great Movie Ride. Then it was off to see Lilo and Stitch but the line was SO long that we skipped it. Made the 11:20 Millionaire show. DS was #1 once during one of the checks. I was #2 once during one of the checks. Too cool! After a dose of the Muppets it was back to the resort. The kids enjoyed the gameroom and a brief dip in the pool while I enjoyed a great Disney nap! After the refreshing nap it was off to the Yacht Club and a fabulous dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. After a brisk walk to Epcot we lucked into the Tapestry of Dreams parade and a front row seat. DS taped the parade and got everything! We briskly walked to Norway for some yummy treats, Mexico for a growing collection of colorful animals and then to a protected spot for Illuminations which was wonderful as always. After a stop in Mouse Gear it was off to the bus. After viewing the day's video tape we enjoyed another great sleep (those beds at CBR are wonderful!).

Monday 1/20: Up to pack :( , have breakfast and say goodbye to the resort and my M-I-L. :( We had a fabulous trip and look forward to another stay at CBR some day. For now, it's a brief break from WDW until 2/28 when we meet my mom there and stay at All Star Movies for the first time! :bounce:

Sounds like you had a good trip, despite the c-c-cold. And it was cold too! Whew!
Only Illuminations die hards could have stood watching it Friday night. Thank goodness we had already seen it three times this trip, so we passed! bbbrrrrrrr
Funny you mentioned the butterflies missing from Spectro.
We saw Spectromagic earlier in the week and they were in the parade.
What SURPRISED DH and I was shortly before Spectro, a gal was driven up in a cart and let off on the bridge (that leads towards Liberty Square?). She was wearing a dark, form fitting outfit, that almost looked space ship/martian-like. We wondered what she was.
Sure enough, there in the parade was the outfit we saw earlier, only now with butterfly wings of course.
We were surprised they allow CM's in partial (or full) parade costume just walk around in view of guests.
Seems like they would/should use back stage for that.
My, how some things have changed....

and froze ......we even had Maine Gear on.....hahaha....We did have a great time though......we go back again in 63 days and are looking forward to a nice week......We have stayed at ALL Star Movies two other times and I do think you will like it........the food court is awesome and a good selection......hope you enjoy yourselves....thanks for your report
