Cathy (Aka Cathy0124- 34): (Yeah not very original, but I stumbled upon the Disboards at 2:00 am one night.. I can only get so creative! ;) I work hard and spend my DH’s $$ even harder. I enjoy watching HGTV, Food Network and the Travel channel…What do you mean there are other channels? Nope! Don’t think so, Thank you very much

Chris (DH - 34): Works hard, loves my family, very mellow. Nicest guy you could ever hope to meet and besides being my DH, is my bestest friend in the whole world! Loves Disney, Star Wars, video games, cars and comic books- in other words your typical 30-something Gen-Xr.

Some background:
My DH and I met on an online dating site back in 2004. :surfweb: I had recently come from a long term relationship and he was recently divorced. Neither of us was looking for anything serious, just wanted to find new company to hang out with.

Flash forward two years later, Summer of 2006:
I’d been to WDW for the first time in 2003 with my DSIS and DBIL and had been dying to go back ever since.
In June of 2006, I’d casually started mentioning it to my then DBF and he said “Sure! Why don’t we go in Jan?” See I worked (past tense- I’ll get back to that later) in an industry that is for all intensive purposes, retail. So time off from Sept to Dec was out of the question.

We did some research and determined that Jan was perfect! Not only could I take time off work, the weather should be decent and more importantly, it was value season!
(You see I joke about spending my DH’s $$, however I am the most FRUGAL (read: cheap) person you will possibly meet. It’s true! Just ask my DSIS how long it took me to buy a new mop. I mean really? $ 15 - $ 20.00? And all you’re using it for is to sling dirty water around with? :confused3 ..Ok better yet don’t ask. :) Anywho- back on topic…..

We then calculated how much we would be spending on park tickets for the two of us and we quickly came to the conclusion that an Annual Pass would be a wise investment. See #1) I was hoping for a discount on the room and #2) I was hoping to be able to convince my DSIS and DBIL (who’s family has now grown to include my 2 DNieces) to take the girls this year for the 1st time.. and since I would have an AP I could wrangle myself an invite- pretty good, no? :thumbsup2

So now where to stay? Once I read to DBF all about the resorts and pros to staying on site, we quickly decided on POR. I then found out about TGM and joined (and FYI- BEST Money EVER spent!! Seriously- that good!). We found out the best tour days and made our ADR’s.. we’re all set!

Then one night in August (Sunday August 6th to be exact.) We’re bumming around at home, literally kicked back on the couch watching the Nascar race when my DBF turns to me and says…wait for it.. ladies I mean it this will make you so jealous!

“ So do you want to get married?”

Umm excuse me? What did you say? Although I believe my exact words were – “Did you just ask me to marry you? In front of the TV? During a NASCAR Race?”

His response? “Um yea…So?”

Well YES! ( Although I have given him heck ever since about his suave and debonair way of sweeping me off my feet)

Then he decides that ...hey let’s not have a long engagement.. let’s go to Vegas- hey how about 2 weeks from now?
(And no- I know what your thinking- we didn’t *HAVE* :rolleyes1 to get married so quickly! That’s what my mother, and my boss and all my friends were asking me as well)

So I quickly threw together a 3 day trip to Vegas (cause see back to the former job thing, we had to get it done before the end of the month) and before I knew it we were married.

Once we got back home, we decided that since we didn’t get time for a proper honeymoon- our trip to Disney would be it – albet 4 months later.

When? Weds Jan 24th to Mon Jan 29th
(hah…see my user name above- Told ya not very creative!)

Where? Port Orleans Riverside

Itenerary:

Jan 29th – Monday: Breakfast with an alien at O’hana (no not my DH… Stitch!) resort hop and then fly home.

As Betty Davis once said, “Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night”

This is DH and I last Spring when the NASCAR race was in town- Jamie McMurray's car was at a bar that we hang out at and we had to do the whole - "get your pic made with it" thing
