This covers the 7-day land/sea vacation of Keith and Holly from Birmingham, AL as told by Keith (Parrotheader.) We're both 26 with kids still a couple years away. Holly had previously been to Disney World twice (one trip she was too young to remember) and Keith had been 5 times. We're BOTH cruise rookies. Pictures of our trip can also be found at:

Day 4 – Typhoon Lagoon & Our Rest Day
Tuesday, May 28

We slept in and finally got out to Typhoon Lagoon around 10:30. The first thing we did (after getting a locker) was hop on the river running around the park. We then did some of the body slides, the big family tube slide, had lunch and then did the lazy river again, which by this point was getting crowded. We walked around and took a few photos before leaving. One thing funny we noticed was that 80%+ of the people there appeared to be from Great Britain. I don’t know what the deal was, but it was kind of cool.

We went back to Port Orleans around 2:00 and had a nap. After that we took the boat to Disney Marketplace around 5:30 and had dinner at Fulton’s Crabhouse. It was very nice eating out on the ship’s patio and rather expensive.

After dinner, we hopped on the bus to the Yacht Club resort. I’d only seen this resort from afar before and wanted to see it firsthand. It was VERY nice, a lot like the Grand Floridian although just a bit TOO fancy for my tastes. The Beach Club resort next door was a bit more my speed. I’d REALLY like to stay there next time with the nice pools, the easy access to the restaurants at Epcot, and the gorgeous view of (and easy access to) the Boardwalk.

After strolling the grounds at the Beach and Yacht clubs we hopped the boat to Epcot. Our boat pulled up JUST in time for Illuminations. We found an open spot on the railing and the show started within 30 seconds. It was fantastic and made even more enjoyable by our perfect timing. As soon as the show was over, we hopped back on the boat and zipped over to the Boardwalk. It was very romantic and I can see why some people might like staying there. It didn’t really feel like a resort though (more like a hotel and entertainment center) but it would be great for a 3-day weekend trip.

We walked around the Boardwalk, had ice cream, watched some street performers and then caught the bus back to Downtown Disney. I’ll remember for future reference that the Boardwalk (even though it’s close to 4 other resorts) doesn’t have to share a bus like the other resorts in that area do. It was a MUCH quicker ride back. After getting back to Downtown Disney we hopped the boat back to Port Orleans.
