Well this is my first dining report so here goes:
Cast -
:earsgirl: Me , 32 disney lover
:earsboy: Dh, 32 secret disney lover
:earsgirl: DD 5 princess freak
:earsgirl: DD turned 2 on trip, freaked by characters

I initially read dining reports before we left saying you get "too" much food on the plan, ect.. Well it's absolutley true. There is too much food for anyone to eat. I also didn't maximize the plan to the fullest becuase we chose to have more TS meals that we paid for out of pocket, and sometimes my dh went up to order and I sat at the table w/dd's and he wasn't as informed as I was on the plan so sometimes he didn't use it right.

Sunday, Oct 2nd

Checked into AKL at 12:00 p.m. went to The Mara for quick lunch. I ordered the tandoori chicked pizza, was OK, typical food court fare, DH had burger, I think, DD's shared chicken, again typical fare, this we paid for out of pocket since dd didn't want to use the dining plan yet as he wasn't sure how to ;) . The Mara is nice, but it doesn't have as many options as other resort food courts I've been to.

Dinner - WCC We had an 8:20 ADR ( the only time I could get) and waited about 20 minutes. They did some antics, not too crazy, and our waitress was definatley on the tame side, that's good
because DH didn't want a "crazy" waiter. DD's did the stick pony race, and dd5 loved the antics and "ketchup" thing. DH and I had the skillet, was OK, I think I was expecting a little better, but it was also late for us, so we didn't eat alot. DD's shared chicken fingers which they didn't even touch. We all had the milkshakes. We had chocolate smores thing for dessert, and dd5 had worms in dirt. There was no way we could eat the desserts so they boxed it up for us. Overall the service was not so great, they brought my dd's out the wrong dinner, and ran away so we couldn't even tell them, then they brought out the right dinner after a long time. Was fun, don't know if I would be running back there again. Used 3 TS credits.

Monday, Oct 3

CRT Breakfast - had an 8:10 ADR and checked in around 8:15 because of a SLOW monorail ride to the MK. Were seated right away. Breakfast was good, were here last year, fruit, danish, plate of breakfast entree. Princess interaction was good, but brief, server was good. We go there mainly for the atmosphere. It is magical. Used 3 TS.

Pinnochio Village Haus Lunch - about 2:00 p.m. The MK was PACKED, unreal!!! I had the italian sanwich and DH had the turkey panini. Was OK, nothing special, DD's shared mac and cheese which came w/jello, applesauce and a mickey rice krispy treat. Our lunch came w/chips, drinks and chocolate cake. We've never eaten here before and wanted to try it, it was just so crowded and busy that it wasn't enjoyable. When we went to leave, people were fighting w/us and other people because they wanted to sit at the table we just left. We just wanted to get out of the MK - it was not fun. Used 3 CS.

'Ohana Dinner - had 7:10 ADR. I wasn't too sure about this because of all the reivews I heard and changes made. We had a great time. The food was great, DH loves wings, so he was happy! The salad was good, could of used more dressing, the shrimp was good, chips w/dipping sauces was very good, vegetables and potatoes were very good as well. Meats were OK, steak was good, but the others were a little dry. The dessert was incredible. We were so stuffed.. Service was a little slow, could have been more attentive and faster with replacing food since we had met up w/some friends we were a larger group and needed food to be replaced more often. They had hula lessons, coconut races, ect. for the kids. They had a great time, also saw wishes. Overall it was great, would go back, glad we went!!! Paid out of pocket since we were w/friends...

Tuesday, Oct 4th (Our 7th Anniversary)

The Mara Breakfast, our friends stayed at AKL for the night and wanted to meet up for bkfst. DH went to get the food while I sat w/the kids. He got what he wanted and went to pay. The CM checking him out told him he didn't utilize the plan properly and had to charge him for several items - I think she should have recommended how he could have rearranged things so it would be correct - she ended up charging him 1 CS credit and paying cash for a milk and waffle - I think all he needed was another breakfast item to make 2 CS's , but whatever... Breakfast was OK, plate of eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes which we shared, dd's shared a mickey waffle, bagel, and chocolate milk. Was PLENTY of food for the four of us, had a lot left over so they gave me a container to take the rest in case someone got hungry later.

The Earl of Sandwich Lunch DTD - I had the original, DH had the beef and bleu, dd's shared the pb&j. Was very good, line was very long!! We also got a drink and cupcakes for dessert. Not the best use of the dining plan. Used 3 CS.

Le Cellier Dinner 7:10 ADR's - we checked in around 7pm, was told they were already backed up so it would be a while, we waited outside about 30-40 mins. There were no walk-ups available, the CM's were telling everyone who wanted to eat there that they are booked solid for the next few weeks. People were not happy. The breadsticks came out, were good, very HOT.... I had the cheese selection for appetizer, very good - dh had the shrimp, he liked it. We both had the mushroom filet for our entree, we were told the lobster is no longer available on the DP, if you want it it is an extra $12. My filet was good, but the risotto was TOO salty. I mean REALLY SALTY. It's a shame because it would have been delicious!!! DD had the steak and fries, hardly ate a bite. I had the cream brulee for dessert, was very good, dh had the cobbler, he liked it, dd had the moose, she loved it of course, but we were all too stuffed to enjoy it. Service was good, was kind of dissapointed that they didn't acknowledge our anniversary even though it was on the adr. Bill came to about $130.00, used 3 TS.

Wednesday, Oct 5th (dd's 2nd birthday)

Donald's Breakfastosaurus Breakfast 9:00 am ADR. Checked in and was seated in about 5 minutes. Character interaction was OK, Goofy completely overlooked us, but DH told the CM and he came back around later. Food was good, had a good selection of hot and cold items. Server was good, told us not to rush, refilled drinks, ect.. Was very good, also a bit disappointed didn't acknowledge dd's birthday as it was on the ADR. I probably should have mentioned it to the server but forgot. We paid cash for this - about $60 for the 3 meals w/tip.

Tusker House Lunch - about 2:00 pm - VERY GOOD for a CS!! I had the vegetable sandwich, came w/grapes, drink and huge piece of carrot cake. DH had the Chicken sandwich, w/ drink & chocolate cake, DD's had the chicken leg and mashed potatoes ( didn't eat a bite), applesauce, applejuice & cheesecake. This was the only CS that gave us a HUGE drink w/the meal. Would go back again, was good quality for fast food. Used 3 CS.

Hoop Dee Doo Revue Dinner - 7:15 show. We went last year and had a blast so decided to go again for dd's bd. I booked 4 months ago so I thought I would be OK w/the seating. When we got there we were seated upstairs in the VERY LAST seats towards the staircase. I was LIVID.... I spoke w/the manager and told him there was no way all of these people made their ADR's before me therefore putting us in the last seats possible. I asked him if it was because we were on the dp - of course he said, "Oh no, we have no idea how you paid when we seat you". Anyway he gave me the choice of staying or leaving and he would refund all 6 TS credits. I thought about leaving, but my dd5 was all set to have a fun time I didn't want to disappoint her. Just then the manager came back upstairs and told me there was a table available downstairs if we would like to sit there. It was all the way in the back, but to me it was much better. Food came out. salad and bread were good, chicken was good, but ribs were fatty. Server was good, came around often, dessert was good. We went more for the show, had a good time, but don't know if I would go back next time we go. Used 6 ts credits.

Thursday, Oct 6th

Crystal Palace Breakfast, 8:25 ADR - checked in and was seated in about 10 minutes. Food was good, place was packed, lines were long to get food. Tried bkfst lasagna, was good, but a bit mushy, I guess I was expecting somthing different. Puffed french toast was delicious, everything was very good. Characters came out very slowly and were brief, we didn't even wait for piglet because it was just taking too much time. Service was good, would go back again. Paid out of pocket about $60 for three meals w/tip.

Cosmic Rays Lunch - about 1:00 p.m. was also very busy at the MK, but no where near as busy as monday. Found a table right away and DH and I had the bacon cheeseburgers w/fries, drink and chocolate cake. Was good, love the fixin's bar!!! We ended up taking our desserts to go, couldn't eat a bite, DD's shared a regular burger, fries, drink & cake ( from the regular menu, not the kids menu ) Great place! Used 3 CS's and I think I threw DH's room/dining card away in the garbage w/the tray :confused3 .

Cosmic Ray's - Dinner about 8:00 pm. - I know, we had lunch here, but we decided last minute to go to the Halloween party, and we just went in to Cosmic Ray's for a quick bite. We ordered 2 chicken strips meals and shared between the four of us - there was still way too much food. Chicken was surprisingly very good - crispy and moist. We had a great time eating while dd's danced w/stich dressed as Elvis at Stitch's Halloween dance party at Cosmic Rays. What fun!!! Used our remaining 2 CS.

Friday, Oct 7th - left bright and early at 6:00 am for the airport, had an early flight home because we had to go to a wedding. Didn't eat anything - but had to buy bagels on the flight (Song airlines). ( Don't think I would go w/them again, that's another story!!! ;) )

We used our snacks at various places for water, popcorn, ice-cream, chips, ect.
We always tipped servers even if we used the dining plan.
My DH couldn't believe that we got the dining plan for free, he was amazed.
Overall it was great, don't know if we'd buy it because it was just too much food - but great for sharing!

also a bit disappointed didn't acknowledge dd's birthday as it was on the ADR

This happened to us several times last week. I had our DD birthday noted on Priority Seatings at the Princess Breakfast at Epcot, Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table, and the Sci Fi Dine-In Theater. I reiterated when I checked in that we were celebrating a birthday, as well. The 2 princess meals were great--our DD got a cookie at the PSB and a cupcake & birthday card at CRT. The other 2 didn't do diddly. I was very disappointed at the Sci-Fi...when I made the PS, the Dining CM was very helpful in explaining what should happen at the restaurant, made a note in the PS, etc. My daughter was wearing her birthday button and a t-shirt that said "Birthday Girl", and when we checked in, the girl at the podium just gave us a quick once over before we were seated. We chose that place because it would be fun for her birthday (that was on her actual birthday, unlike the other meals) and didn't even get as much as a birthday wish. The restaurant was PACKED and the servers were rushing around like crazy. I'm sure that probably had something to do with it.

At the Crystal Palace, we didn't see our server much, or the characters...after an hour, we just paid the bill and left :/

I wasn't expecting much, but it would have been nice to have the table sprinkled with pixie dust or something....

Kimisabella,

Thanks for posting. I am hopin to share some dinners due to the sheer volume of food. We always eat TS meals so even if we don't maximize the plan, we will still be coming out ahead.
