What can we do for the day? We are using Disney transfers so are we stuck at the airport? What time to you get off the boat? We are on deck #7 in case you need to know that.

Thanks

I believe that everyone must be out of their staterooms by 8am and off the boat by 9:00 or 9:30a....

You could rent a car & go to a water park or downtown disney for the day. Visit the space center which isnt too far from the port. A rental car will run about $40 a day, you could rent at PC & drop off at MCO.

I'm not sure I'm be brave enough to travel around for fear of missing my flight.
We barely made our 12:35 pm flight, there was a 45 minute wait to get off the ship, and a 90 minute wait to clear security at the airport. We literally walked from security right onto the plane.
I'd enjoy what I could of the ship for as long as I could...yep they want you off by 9, but often it's after 10 before they are physically able to get the line of folks off.
I'd just plan on a nice lunch at the airport, and some people watching, because with a 5:30 flight, you really need to be on the airport property no later than 3pm.

our flight was at around 4:30 pm...at first we thought of going to downtown disney, just to check it out, and have lunch, browse, etc. but decided against it, fear of "not enough time". and am glad we didn't go...went directly to mco, had lunch there, browsed there. it's like a mall in there! and just really relaxed before our flight. that worked out fine for our family. :flower:

You could always get a day room at the hotel at the airport so that you would have a quiet place with kids to rest or take a nap. You can use their pool too.

One of our favourite places outside Disney is DeLeon Springs state park and it is not too far to drive and very peaceful. When we come over we always try and include this trip and if it is winter we get to see the manatae also there

Our flight home was about 5:30 as well and we previously booked a day room at the Hyatt in the airport. It was $75 when I booked it, but may have gone up to $85 by now. DH used the pool, but said the water was dirty. The room was fine. We chilled out there, had lunch, shopped and napped a bit. If I had been by myself, I probably could have just hung out at the airport with a good book and saved the $75, but DH thinks the money was well spent.

We rented a car, went to church in Cocoa Beach, shopped a bit. You could go to the beach. Then you just drop the rental off at MCO. Hertz will pick you up at the port.
