We are planning our first trip to WDW December 12-17 and I am feeling overwhelmed trying to plan it. I have been lurking on here for awhile trying to learn everything I need to know. I have a basic idea of what parks and what restaurants but it will soon be time to book ADR's and I could use your advice.

We will be staying at POR, there are 5 of us. Me, DH, DD11, DD8, DS5. My husband is a meat and potatos type of guy so I had a hard time finding places that would please everybody. This is what I have so far. If you have any tips or suggestions please feel free to give them. I am open to change.

We are not park hopping or doing the christmas party. We will be on the DDP.

Sunday 12/12 Arrival day. I dont know our flights yet so I was planning on just going to DTD and having dinner at Planet Hollywood.

Monday 12/13 MK and Crystal Palace for dinner Hours that day are 9-8 with evening EMH.

Tuesday 12/14 Epcot, my husband and kids are not at all into international cuisine so I planned on Le Cellier or If I cant get that then walking over to Big River Grille. Epcot has AM EMH hours that day.

Wednesday 12/15 AK in the morning and Captains Grille for dinner, my daughter really wants crab legs. They are open 9-5 with PM EMH

Thursday 12/16 DHS and Sci-Fi Diner for lunch or dinner. Can you get the burgers at dinner? They are open 9-8

Friday 12/17 Chef Mickey's for breakfast and then hit whatever park we want to see again.

home on saturday.

Ok..... critique away. :)

Sounds good! I'm not a fan of Planet Hollywood though, and the T Rex restaurant at DD is very good and a lot of fun for kids. I don't think the burgers are on the menu at night at Sci Fi but we asked and were able to get them. I know you will have a wonderful trip.

Yes, I agree with the PP...T-Rex over Planet Hollywood any day...you will all love it. Everytime I have been, great food and great service.

Crystal Palace, great idea. Try a very early dinner to break up the day...like 4pm.

Le Cellier is okay but you could also do Biergarten (pretty basic) or Teppan Edo...very much a steak/chicken/shrimp with noodles and veggies. At least it would be a step into something "different" and Teppan Edo is lots of fun. As is Biergarten.

I know absolutely nothing about Capts Grill. Sorry.

Now, for my Sci Fi opionion. I am a true Sci Fi lover....why not go for a late lunch? That way you can still get burgers for sure and again, break up the day.

As for Chef Mickey's, it's okay, but have you considered Ohana at the Poly?

Otherwise, your plan looks great. We love to go at that time of year, perfect weather and beautiful decorations...!!!

Might I suggest Chef's de France while in Epcot. I know french sounds intimidating but the food is pretty good and some simple meat and potatoes options are available plus REALLY great desserts.

I'm not a fan of Sci-fi...limited menu and not very good with what they do have. My family loves 50's Prime Time Cafe.

Otherwise your plan sounds great. Have Fun!! Christmas in Disney is awesome be sure to check out the various resort decorations.

Also remember you can always change your reservations so you are not stuck. My family thought Chef Mickey's was it...

Sunday 12/12 Arrival day. I dont know our flights yet so I was planning on just going to DTD and having dinner at Planet Hollywood.

We've never done Planet Hollywood. Depending on your arrival time, it might be best to go with the TS in your hotel. Boatwrights was pretty good the two times we ate there.

Monday 12/13 MK and Crystal Palace for dinner Hours that day are 9-8 with evening EMH.

CP is an excellent choice. We've enjoyed it for years.

Tuesday 12/14 Epcot, my husband and kids are not at all into international cuisine so I planned on Le Cellier or If I cant get that then walking over to Big River Grille. Epcot has AM EMH hours that day.

Le Cellier is also an excellent choice. I hope you get it. If not then try Teppan Edo, or Akershus for the Princess dining. The menu is very good at both places. Your DD's might love the princesses, and all three might enjoy the show at Teppan.

Wednesday 12/15 AK in the morning and Captains Grille for dinner, my daughter really wants crab legs. They are open 9-5 with PM EMH

AK is a good day to hit a resort restaurant. Having never eaten at Captain's Grill, I can not give an opinion, but the menu does look inviting.

Thursday 12/16 DHS and Sci-Fi Diner for lunch or dinner. Can you get the burgers at dinner? They are open 9-8

I have not seen burgers on the dinner menu at Sci-Fi, but I do not doubt they would serve it to you , if asked. Personally, we enjoy 50's Prime Time Cafe more. We've had so-so food at Sci-Fi, but never anything bad at 50's. Plus the experience might be fun for the kids. Sci-Fi is also kind dark with the lighting.

Friday 12/17 Chef Mickey's for breakfast and then hit whatever park we want to see again.

Chef Mickey's is another excellent choice. We usually do it for dinner (usually on our AK day!), but breakfast is fine. Enjoy!

I agree that Ohana for breakfast is much better than Chef Mickeys. Sci Fi is a great choice. Coral Reef is a good choice if you can't get Le Cellier. It's cool and dark inside and they have steak and seafood.

If you are up in the air about PH, it is very LOUD, by the way, but I like the choices. Think about a CS at DTD. I too have same age kids & DH that is only meat & potatoes & we LOVE Wolfgang puck express& it is CS. Might give you an option later in the week or try a 2TS like hoopde do or Luau.

I believe Cape May has crab legs & it is a good meat/pot buffet as well.

We have been disappointed in our last 2 LeCell visit after being huge fans. I've heard the Wave at Contemporary has good steaks.

12/12 - sounds like a good arrival day plan :thumbsup2

12/13 - Crystal Palace is an excellent choice. It is a must-do for us.

12/14 - Le Cellier would be nice if you could get the reservation. I would also consider Les Chefs de France, Teppan Edo, Rose & Crown, or Coral Reef. None of these are too adventerous, but they do serve delicious meals.

12/15 - If your going for crab legs, I believe Cape May Cafe (next door at the Beach Club is the better choice.)

12/16 - Never been to Sci-Fi, but looks very cool :goodvibes

12/17 - I really don't care for Chef Mickey's. The characters are fine, but the food is  I agree with other posters that you might want to consider switching to 'Ohana.

Have a fantastic trip! We're going on the same week you are :goodvibes
