Today was DH's day. After all the rest of the trip had been all about me, so he was entitled to a day! We were going to check out the Fantasy of Flight and the airport where Sun 'n Fun is held in Lakeland. We drove past the Fantasy of Flight thinking we stop there on the way back.

We got a little lost, and the drive took a little longer than we thought....hey but it was only 2cm on the map, why is it taking so long!

We finally found the airport and we had breakfast at Tonys Airside Cafe, while we watched planes come and go. Dave was in his element... the only thing that could have better for DH was if he had actually got to go flying. They roll out the red carpet for any plane that comes in. Can we land here one day?

Arrrgh can we not read a map? We got lost again! We were looking for Jack Browns Seaplane base. It's on .....a lake, and it's a well known flying school for learning to fly float planes, or as they call them in the US, seaplanes. So you think it would be easy to find, well not so much. But we eventually did, by which time tempers were just a little frayed. It was warm and sunny so we spent quite a bit of time watching the cubs (type of plane) take off and land. I think DH was wishing he could be up there. For $1000.00 US he could do a two day course and be a float plane pilot, and I know there is nothing he would rather do than fly on floats. Maybe next year.

3/4 of a day away and I am having Disney withdrawal symptoms. So we head back to the world. So far this trip we have really own been to the World Showcase in Epcot, so this afternoon we are going to check out Future World.

First up - can I get DH to try some Beverly? Again I head all about it on the Disboards. Even bigger question can I get me to try it? We stop at Ice Station Cool and it's freezing. There are 2 CMs at the beginning all rugged up in snow gear (I kid you not), then we realised they were redoing the snow on the inside of the igloo. We had to race through the first little bit and almost missed seeing the iceman olding the bottle of coke. We both tried the Beverly first. I just filled the cup and gave it to him. He had no idea, at least I had some warning so I only sipped it, but he took quite the mouthful. It was awful, like aniseed. DH liked the watermelon soda and that made up for it.

I wanted to see Nemo. I have been very surprised by the lack of Finding Nemo stuff in the world. Is it because Nemo is Pixar?

But finally we found him at Living Seas. Outside they have a huge display, which we had our photo taken in front of. Apparently there is sometimes a character meet and greet, but of course it was not while we were there. We watched a live Scuba display and short presentation on the manatees. And then I spend forever in the Nemo section. I bought a plush Nemo for me, and a Scuba Mickey T-shirt for my brother, and we had them shipped back to the resort - I like this not having to carry bags around with us thing.

Now we are hungry. On the way to the Electric Umbrella for lunch we found the talking water fountain and the talking rubbish bin. Oh how the small things entertain and amuse us. Here we are at Disney World, with all the thing there are to do and see and we have to keep pushing the button on the water fountain so we can hear everything it has to say!

Innoventions West. This obviously made a huge impression, as neither of us can remember what we did!

Onto The Land. We actually both enjoyed Living with Land, the boat ride through the greenhouses. It was interesting to see all the different veggies, and insome case to try and guess what they were.

We watched the Circle of Life. I thought it was well done - DH was bored. Now I will have to go home and watch the Lion King again. And I want to see Lion King 1 1/2.

Walked past the Garden Grill. DH liked that it was revolving, and wanted to eat there, he also liked the look of the Sunshine Season Food Fair, maybe next time.

Over to Imagination. We spent a fair amount of time watching the reverse waterfall and the water flowing up, can we have one at home? At Honey I Shrunk the Audience we looked for the senses effects in the seats so that we would be prepared but didn't notice the ones under the seat!

Journey into the Imagination with Figment, the skunk smell is revolting. Skipped the What If labs.

Innoventions East - had fun in the Test the Limits Lab. Picked up fastpath for Test Track. Had icecream, back to Innoventions East for the House of the Future - I want that bathtub, infact just give me the whole house.

Test track is nothing like a roller coaster , think of Indy Speedway at the Magic Kingdom. Ssshh don't tell DH any different or I will never get him on it. Oooh I got him on, and he's all bucked in now so he can't get out. And he loved it! I think it's his new favourite ride (along with Buzz over at MK). We rode the Dream Racers after and drooled over the trucks and SUVs. If we stop having Starbucks, can we have a Hummer?

Okay how am I going to get DH past all those motion sickness warnings and on Mission:Space? I don't think I am, he has to stop and read each one. Then he has to stop a CM and ask them about it. The CM assures DH that the ride won't actually spin him up side down, and I think the sound of my voice has finally got to him. "If I say I will go on it, will she finally shut up?" Okay, enough with the warnings already, anymore and I think I will lose the DH. We make it, and now DH is disappointed that he's not the pilot. He's the engineer and i am the navigator. Look straight ahead, always look at the screen - I did feel queasy in parts and was glad the ride ended when it did. It was an experience and we are both happy we did it, but don't think we need to do it again. I fared better than DH, he had to sit down for 20 minutes afterwards to feel himself again. But I am so proud of him - he did it. (Maybe next time I can get him on Tower of Terror and the Rock 'n Roller Coaster).

Once DH had regained control he wanted to ride Test Track again, so we did and it was better the second time round. I think I will have to ride again and again to take it all in. But not tonight because Future World is now closed, but the World Showcase is still open and we are not ready to leave yet. Did I mention that I love the fiber optic lights that light up and fade away on the Innoventions walkway. Can we have those at home too?

We wandered through Morocco and Japan. I lived in Tokyo for a year over 10 years ago and it brought back many memories. We will have to plan a trip to Japan soon. DH has never been and I would love to show him the Tokyo that I know and love. Although it has probably changed quite a bit in the last 10 years. I was enjoying Japan so much that we decided to have dinner there in the Yakitori House. We had a window seat and were able to see most of Illuminations.

Then it was tme to head back to the resort and bed!

EPCOT is one of my favorite parks. My family and I love Living With the Land ride at the Land Pavilion. We have eaten at Sunshine Season Food Fair and the Garden Grill. We like both of them. The Garden Grill is really fun because Mickey and friends are there and the restaurant revolves, so you get to see different scenes of the Land ride. The food is good too (all you can eat refills at your table). Sounds like you are both having a great time.
:earsgirl:

I loved Test track until we stopped dead on the incline.....and stayed in that one position on our sides.....for almost ten minutes......we were sore........thanks so much for your report and I am anxious to get there now......
