Our first trip to the "Dark Side"

Love the Super Heros pics :thumbsup2. So glad you were able to catch them all!! Did you guys also get a chance to meet Dr. Doom and the Green Goblin in the Marvel area during your trip?

I didn't even see where they sold frozen lemonade in Jurassic Park....will have to keep my eyes peeled for that on our next visit. Its one of my favourite cool-down treats!

And yay for some pool time at the resort  . Sometimes that kind of laid back, unscheduled fun is the where the best family vacation memories are made ::yes:: .

We didn't :( They could have been out earlier or the other days but since we didn't pay attention to the time schedule lol we missed probably tons of other characters! The day I met Marilyn and Lucy, Shaggy and Scooby and a few others were out but the lines were really long, so we opted to skip them. I figure it just gives us a goal for next time!

I think the lemonade stand is almost out of JP, but not since we didn't go with hubby lol but it sure was refreshing on that hot day! Worth the wait :D I totally agree, I wish we had a few more days and spent an entire day just relaxing at the pool etc, but in a way we did the Sat before we left, but that's later in the trip report LOL

What a great family photo of all of you with the castle in the back ground. I love it!

You handled the dinner time chaos with the class of a mom who's been there, done that and doesn't sweat the small stuff.....you rock :thumbsup2 . That's not always easy to do when you're tired, hot, and hungry!! And kudos to the servers and clean up crew who also had such a great sense of humor......that made me very happy to read :) .

Love, love, LOVE the chocolate wands!! I didn't even see those in Honeydukes? Were they crazy expensive? They would make great souvenirs for family and friends back home.

So sorry you missed out on your middle DD being selected at Olivanders :guilty: ... I would be bummed about missing pics of that experience too. But how cool she was chosen!! :woohoo: What a great memory that will be for her! (and I bet all her friends back home will be jealous as heck)

Ha I was too fast on the other reply I didn't see this one! The family pics are my favorite, it's so rare that we all get in photos so I am glad we took advantage of the photo pass. I kinda felt bad for my oldest, because after the server dropped the tray she was basically in tears, partly because she was laughing soo much and the other because she hates drawing that kind of attention to herself. :p

The wands were around $8 each if I recall, not horrible but not cheap. They are solid not hollow so that is also a nice thing, you get a decent amount of chocolate. I tasted one of the kids, they were pretty good. These were located on the end caps of the shelving units when we were there. Maybe they are a new item? Definitely check the out while there. We also bought some fizzing whizzbees. They are so fun and yummy!

I was pretty sad but the fact she got to do it, was enough. She had been talking about it for a few days but was like it's OK if I don't get a wand (I mean at all because we gave them a $50 limit on souvenirs each) and she didn't want to spend it all on one thing. Of course we ended up spending about $100 each due to pins, wands etc. but that's ok, it was budgeted ;)

I had also spent too much $$$ in Honeydukes when we went! I will likely do it again next time! LOL! I kept my Bertie Botts box (it sits above my stove) and I also bought the glass Honeydukes jar. Mine had Sherbert Lemons in it.. I found some lemon drop candy that is almost the same and fill it up. It sits on my kitchen counter! :) I didn't see the chocolate wands when I was there either.. I imagine they may have a few new things since they expanded?? I loved the cauldron cakes as well! They had the ones in the bakery case section, and they also had ones that were pre-packaged. The pre-packaged ones were larger and different.. they also had gelatin in it so I got the one in the bakery case and it was sooo yummy! My mouth is watering now...
You know, the incident with the food and drinks sounds like something that would happen to our family! Sometimes, you just have to laugh!! LOL!

Enjoyed your update! You handled the incident that happened at Three Broomsticks like like a seasoned mom, great job! With the heat and being tired we had seen many family squabbles over spilled food.

Loved your girls photos with the super heroes, they look like they are thrilled to met them! Also great family photo with the castle in the back!!
That's great that your middle DD got picked at Olivanders, it's going to be a special memory for her! Sorry you missed it :guilty:, but she can tell you every detail about what happened.

We didn't see the jelly beans nor the chocolate wands when we went last year? We also bought a couldron cake for our DD last year but didn't try it. My DD was saving it eat as a snack later in the day, but somehow lost it? Unfortunately it was our last day there and we never did buy a replacment.

I could have easily dropped a couple hundred in there LOL I keep telling myself when we go back there will be things I don't need to buy (like wands) that will give me extra $$ lol

All I could do was laugh til I cried lol my oldest felt horrible though, she doesn't generally like attention on her so when the tray fell, she was already almost in tears and then the server really dropping it with a loud crash made it worse. She recovered well though and we ate and drink merrily LOL

Yeah I saw no point in getting mad, it was a complete accident and she was helping me out. Next time I'll carry the food and she can push the stroller :p
They all had such a good time, and are still talking about it and going back. I can't wait til next year! I was super sad to miss the ceremony but we did go back on Friday, which I still need to update everyone on.

We have had some rough times here lately and school started back so I have not been online as much. I will try to do so later today :)

Thanks for sticking by! :)
