A quick recap:
Day 1: Plane trip down, towncar ride, check in at CR. DW and I had a wonderful, lightning-lit dinner at CG.
Day 2: Breakfast at CRT. Whirlwind tour of Fantasy and Tomorrowland. Disappointing dinner at Mexico. Toured the World Showcase. Illuminations.
Day 3: A day at AK with lunch at AKL. Dinner at Kona Cafe. A fun but soggy NoJ.
Day 4: Thunderstorms! MGM in the afternoon (no RnR
). A dry and wonderful NoJ.
Day 5: Since DW and I are churchgoers, I rented a car for Sun and Monday so we could go to church and check out the Holy Land Experience (henceforth HLE). Picked up the car at the Car Care Center (got a great deal on an upgrade), and off we went to church.
We attended church at Calvary Assembly (a HUGE church with a wonderful service), and then headed off to HLE. We've been to HLE before, but really enjoyed the experience this time, as they have a new pavilion open, the Scriptorium. At this exhibit is displayed a part of the Van Kampen collection, one of the world's largest private collections of biblical documents. The display is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time (items include parts of a 1600 year old bible, and numerous other centuries old documents, including parts of an Isaiah scroll more than 2000 years old!)
Although we could have gone through the Scriptorium exhibit 20 times without getting bored, we decided to head over to the Downtown Disney and get in some shopping. Afterward, we headed over to the BW to get some dinner. We walked right into Spoodles and were immediately seated without waiting. What a wonderful dining experience! We also enjoyed the Illuminations fireworks from the BW (even though I was grumpy after stopping in at ESPN and finding out the Packers had lost to the Vikings .
).
As we walked down onto the BW, we had a nice conversation with a DVC representative. Since we'd been thinking about joining since our last vacation, and we had not scheduled anything for Monday, we decided we'd give it a go. We scheduled an appointment for 1:00 Mon, and headed back to CR for some much needed shut eye.
