DH and I went out today and bought a shiney new Subaru Forester! I love it!! We have both been driving cars that our parents bought for us when we were in college. They were both slightly used when we got them and they have been driven to death. We finally traded in my Nissan Sentra - a 1992 model with 311,000 miles on it!! It's made several trips to Florida . . .
The Forester is white with all sorts of neat features like power stuff (windows, locks, mirrors, etc.), a HUGE sunroof, a six disk CD changer, heated seats, a power adapter in the back where we can plug in our electric cooler on road trips, a dog gate, and on and on! We've only had very basic cars before, so it's really exciting! It's also neat to drive something bigger. We've both only had really little two-door cars up until now. It's so much fun to drive and it handles really well.
Sadly, DH will be the one driving it most of the time. I only have to go about four blocks to work, and I usually walk. He has to drive 45 minutes each way on a windy mountain road, so he definately needs it more. I really like all the safety features too, because I always worry about him making that drive.
I can't wait to take it on a road trip to Florida in December!!
