This was our final day. I called the night before and requested a later checkout for 1pm. We slept in until 8:30. Nicolas had been dying to swim and it was about 78 degrees this day! really! So Roy took Nicolas to swim while I packed. boo hoo.
Usually we pack the night before and do a park half day the day we fly out, but this trip I only bought a 5 day PH so we didn't have a day, and we all decided later that we should do this every trip. It was nice to relax and pack at a leisurely pace. I even had time to sit out in the sun after a relaxing lunch.
Nicolas and Roy hit the game room and Happy Limo (thank God not the night club singer again) came promptly at 3 to take us to the airport.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you there is more to the Christmas tree saga. I went last night and retrieved my box from luggage storage. There it was, nice and neat. I packed up the tree and we lugged it down to checkout. I waited in Guest Services with this box that was about 5 foot 5 inches tall. This one girl looked up and I could tell she was thinking, "oh, no maybe another CM can help this one. . .she has a huge box. . ." But nobody else could help, so she smiled and called me over. I explained that I needed to ship it and she just looked at me. Her next question was, "Do you have a car?" I politely said, no I am flying home today. But in my mind I was thinking - listen it doesn't matter if I have a car, I asked to ship this and you need to help me out here sister!
Anyway, She said, ok I don't know how to do this, but we'll work through it together. Breath, sister, breath. It is just a box. She gets the head honcho CM (you know the one who doens't have to wear the goofy looking uniform. ha ha ) He comes up and takes charge immediately. Asking if I wanted to ship it UPS and if I need insurance, etc. He makes her do it so she can "learn how" and it takes her like 45 minutes to complete the process, but she got it done, God bless 'er. Now, I might be putting the cart before the horse, cause I haven't got my tree shippped yet, but it isn't supposed to arrive until Jan. 4th, so there is hope. Plus I have a couple of huge Mickey dolls in there, so I hope it does come. For any one interested, it cost me around $30 to ship it and that includes $300 worth of insurance.
Our flight back was uneventful and we knew we were out of WDW when the taxi driver in Nashville didn't offer to even help with our bags. oh well.
We got back to the Hampton Inn and picked up our van and had a 2 hour drive home. We were home and in bed by 9:30 dreaming of the warm weather we had left just hours ago.
And now I am working on my 5th load of laundry while needing to fold some, so I bid you all farewell until the next trip! Thanks for reading and sharing! If you have any questions, please let me know!
PS: It didn't rain once time during our trip! That made the trip even extra special.
