DS4/5, jr video game wiz, happy to be spending his 5th b-day at the Mouse House.
It's the day we've been waiting for!!! DS4/5 is now DS5!!!! I'm up early (so what else is new!) grab my coffee and sit and wait for 6:32 so that they MAY have the chance to hear the wake up call.....they miss it even though I let the phone ring 4 times!!! I step outside and all of a sudden I hear a BOOM!!!! DANG! thunderstorms!!! Great! just great! it wasn't bad enough that we were soggy all day Friday at AK but now today our BIG day it's pouring and booming BIG TIME!
I wake up the crew and tell em to don the ole Elmo jackets....DH by the way FORGOT to hang them up properly and they were just a wadded up still wet mess! Great! Ok so we head to the bus stop and it's DESERTED! ummmm it's EE at MK and we are gonna go isn't anyone else?
So we get to MK and there isn't much of a line. We are standing there as the coutdown begins 5 4 3 2 1!!! YEAH! we're off! First stop City Hall for the Birthday Button for DS5.
We run to Buzz and we are on right away! Me and DS5 ride together with DH and DS12 right behind us. We spin and shoot our way to Space Aces while DS12 and DH barely get a score! HA!! Onto SPM where DH and DS12 go first, while they are riding we get DS5's pic taken on a Tomorrow Land card that has a pic of him and buzz on it. DH later attaches it to his lanyard while me and DS12 ride SPM. We then hit Indy Cars and me and DS12 ride solo while DH and DS5 ride together. It's pouring buckets now! Just pouring and since DS5 REFUSED to wear a raincoat his head is drenched although he had a hood on. We walk past a kiosk where they are selling hats and they have a Buzz helmet for $16.00. We depart, 3 of us and a mini Buzz and I direct DH and DS12 to AE. Now I KNOW all about this ride and have NO desire what so ever to ride it!! They on the other hand know NOTHING! So I say "why don't you guys go on this ride me and Buzz Jr are gonna see if we can find Buzz for a pic and sign" They of course fall for it! So we do just that, DS5 gets his photo and we start pin collecting, he gets a Timon and a Pumbah. DH and DS12 emerge from AE and DS12 is looking a little red in the face. Seems that "someone" was a wee bit scared to DEATH and literally GRABBED DH's leg when someone breathed on his neck. Looking innocent I plead stupidity but alas my crew knows me all too well and DS12 swears revenge. I make up for it by buying him 2 pins.
We head for Toontown and me and DS12 do teacups while DS5 checks out the ride....he likes to "watch" us first before deciding if he wants to ride it in which time we ALL have to ride it AGAIN! I think we did Goody's Barnstormer next...either that or Railroad but for Barnstormer there wasn't anyone in line and DS5 got to hold the white card but there wasn't a line at all. He's not happy we conned him on the coaster but we all laugh and I actually put my arms in the air! I'm a brave one, yes I am!
We then go to BTM where DH has no desire to go on (he's studing the map looking for his fav. CBJ!) BTM is cool! I hold on the whole time though....not letting go on the big boys! We skip SM since we are already soaked...what's the point?
CBJ is next and it's DH's all time favorite thing ever! We sit under the heads which DS5 objects to of course! Will this kid find anything fun???? We enjoy the show! I think it was about this time that I realize I can't find the map, personally I don't think I lost it...it dissolved! I swear although DH thinks I lost it! We go in search of one and outside what I later learn is PoC there is Capt. Hook! We get in line...second in line...and DS5 wants NO PART of Hook! He is covering in the stroller (kept dry today with the dollar store raincoat) so DS12 is elected to get the pic and sign. Guess Hook had his panties in a tight spot cause he was NASTY! Threw our books in a windowledge and then beemed the lady standing next to me with the pen cap! She thought I threw it and I assured her it was NOT me but HOOK! She didn't believe me I guess cause she gave me that "look". Anyway back to Hook....he signs the books and I ask for a pic...well he turns away from me, folds his arms and refuses to look at me! By this time there is a line of about 50,000 pple behind me and I just want the darn pic! So I say "Please" and he turns and holds a dagger up to DS12's neck. I get the pic and then DS12 has to ADD something like usual....so he says I hope Peter kicks your butt and the crock finishes up what's left....oh god! tick off the Hook! Hook stomps his foot and shoos him away. I for once sympathize with Hook and assure him that DS12 will walk the plank later on. We all walk away laughing at that one!
Ok, so here's the entrance to PoC! DS5 once again gets the white card but there isn't a line again....are you seeing the same pattern I am here??? So we go in, DS5 is terrified of course....but laughs and points out lost boys and is in giggles when he sees Hook stradeling the crock at the end! We exit into the store where DS5 gets a Tink pin and a Peter one. DS12 bought 2 or 3 pins...don't remember how many or what they were. Who walks through the store as we are getting checked out? HOOK! and he REMEMBERS DS12....he shakes his hook at him! HA HA HA!
Over to Jungle Cruise....no line of course and we chat with a CM for a little while as we drip off prior to going on. Enchanted Tiki is next and that is really cute! We all enjoy that. Time for lunch so we hit Pecos and find a table inside! We peel off our coats and hang them to dry. I go get in line, not a bad line. I use 2 vouchers here and save about $10 total.
We head to the HM and DS5 has been saying for the past 3 days that he is NOT going on this or seeing THAT! I decide not to tell him what the ride is and figure I'll deal with the consequences later. So this horrible mom takes the crew into HM! I of course have DS5 sit with DH and NOT me. DS5 hides his face through the whole ride but opens them at the hitchhiker point and of course that scares him! Especially since the hitchhiker is sitting on DH's lap!
Ok I've freaked the kid out enough on his b-day...making him ride a roller coaster and see ghosts so we head to Fantasyland. DS12 and DS5 hit the carousel while me and DH grab a smoke and then we go to IASW.
Now I'm a girl and I like dolls and such but I truly wasn't expecting the crew to enjoy it! I was pleasantly surprised when DH commented that he found all the mechanics of the ride interesting and enjoyable. DS5 LOVED it! Oh geeze! finally a ride he LOVES and it's IASW???? He wants to go again! Ummmm NO!
We then get a FP for PP...yup, theres a line here alright!---and decide to hit Snow White. DS5 is......well you can guess what he is I don't need to tell you at this point! DS12 gets a grumpy pin and a Dopey shirt that says "I'm with Grumpy!" Fitting! truly!! Back over to TL where DS12 rides AO, we wave and I take pics from the smoking area. Back to PP, DS5 loves it! We head over to Tinks's Treasures where DS5 is just amazed watching Tink fly through the store. The CM asks his name (sees his B-button) and says "We have someone who has been looking all over for you!) she calls him behind the counter and dials the phone. The look on DS5's face is just priceless! It's Goofy wishing him a Happy Birthday.....DS5 is THRILLED! Guess he is looking at Goofy in a whole new light now! After exiting the store DS5 insists that DS12 go inside and see Tink and we decide it's time to head to LTT for dinner. It's early yet so we sit on the porch and rock a little and people watch. Wow we have done so much today!!!! We ask if we can enter dinner a wee early and after asking where we are from we are seated in a waiting area. We are announced and there on the table is Mickey confetti and streamers!!! I forgot that I told them it was a b-day when I made the PS. Now DS5 is a VERY picky eater and hates....DESPISES all WDW mac and cheese and will only eat PB&J. Now what DOESN'T LTT have on the menu? You guessed it! So we tell the CM and he goes out of his way to get him a PB&J and some grapes. DS5 eats it all! The characters are all over us all dinner...actually I think Minnie has a thing for DH..she is hanging all over him that HUSSY! He's eating it up too!!! Chip and Dale are adorable in their wigs and DS5 even gives Goofy a hi five! Things are looking up! We eat tons and then the CM comes out with dessert for DS5, it's a piece of cake with a candle and everyone sings. The CM gives DS5 a card signed by all the characters and he is just thrilled! The food here was excellent!!! Service outstanding and just a great great time!
We decide to do a little shopping and DS12 gets a few more pins and DS5 a Buzz playset.
We head over to see if the fireworks are a go since it hasn't stopped pouring most of the day, they are but Tink isn't flying. We grab a bench by the bridge to TL and open the big umbrella, it's enough to keep us from getting pelted in the face with rain. I guess no one else thought to ask if the fireworks are a go or not because pple are leaving in droves! We watch the fireworks and decide to head back to CBR.
I give DS5 all his cards from the family back home explaining that Tink had them fly in just for him! Our tip envelopes from yesterday and today are still here! I then call down to valet and arrange to be picked up in the A.M. and brought to Custom House where we will then transfer to a Taxi to take us to the Beach Club for our 8:10 PS. They tell me they will knock at 7:40! It's a date!
I set the wake up for 6:33 this time.....maybe that extra minute..... and I put on CNN and watch the goings on. The kids are out like lights and DH begins snoring shortly after! Truly a great great day!
