Reminder of the cast- me, Dh and 4 boys- ages 15, 12, 10 and 8. DF and her DH and DS12 and DD17

Nassau day- I knew to have low expectations. Our plan was to do a couple of things and then make it back in time for lunch and to see Ratatoullie ( not sure if I spelled that right). DS10 had gone to the shopping talk with DH the day before just to get the coupon for the free diamond bracelet- he wanted to give it to his "girlfriend". So we had to go to the diamond international store to claim this "treasure". It was very hot in Nassau- at least to us. We were walking to the straw market-DS8 has a heart problem and has trouble with extreme temperatures. He was melting fast so we took turns carrying him. DH stayed in the shade with a breeze with him as we went into the straw market-yuck! Did not like it at all. DS15 really hated it. When people would talk to him, he would stop to respond, and then they would really push hard for a sale. I told him just to smile and keep walking, don't stop and respond. But he thought that was being rude and it made him very uncomfortable. the only reason he went there was someone told him he could get fake Oakley sunglasses there- we saw every other designer copy but not Oakleys. After a quick runthrough, we left.

We headed to the Pirate museum. I'm not sure what we expected. I guess it was good for a pirate museum, but we would not do it again. At least it was very cool in there. DS8 really needed that. Then we picked up the "lovely" free bracelet and headed back to the boat. If we ever take this cruise again, we will NOT get off at Nassau. One slightly upsetting thing happened. Our pager went off- even though all our kids were with us. It said DS8's name and nothing else. We asked him if he had tried to page us the night before but he wasn't sure- but brothers told us he had been upset about something. DH asked at the lab when we got back to the ship and sure enough, they had paged us the night before but we got it the next day. Clinton in the lab ( we loved him) had then comforted him and convinced him to stay. They didn't think it would be a problem again ( not getting a page) but it made me nervous-like I said before, DS8 has health problems and I worried if something happened, they wouldn't be able to get us. I convinced myself that if there was a problem, they would find a way to find us.

We made it back for lunch and a movie but DS8 decided to go to the lab instead- I think it was for some game and he hoped to win a prize ( brothers and friend had won a light up pen the night before and he was jealous- even when they offered to give it to him.) Unfortunately, he didn't win the game. It was a team game and when he didn't know the answer to a Pocohantes question ( he's never seen it) his team yelled at him- or at least that was his account of it! So he wasn't very happy. But then they made cookies, so he was a bit happier. Dh and the older boys went to the basketball shootout where DS10 won a little towel while I lounged by the pool with friends.

Dinner at Animator's Palate- oh my! The food and the show were great. I had the best filet mignon of my life! The boys loved the cheese canneloni. This was our favorite meal! We all went to Who wants to be a Mousketeer- this was fun, but not as fun as other games where everybody participates. Afterwards we went to Hercules- our favorite show! After that, DS15 went to work out ( one of the few times the teens could go to the fitness room) and we went to Name that tune. We had so much fun and after being in a 5 way tie, our group finally won! Thank you DH! Now youngest son finally had a prize and he was happy!

DS8 wanted to go make flubber- it was way past his bedtime, but this was vacation, so okay. I can't remember what the middle boys did but DS15 and friend's DD17 went to the late Pirate movie. DH went to pick up DS8 when flubber was supposed to be over, but they were running late so he had to wait awhile. I hated that everybody was getting to bed so late when we had Castaway Cay the next day- oh well, they can sleep on the beach. DS8 was a little upset when he got back because Jayson ( room steward) had not made up the top bunk in our room. Not sure why- he had never asked what beds we wanted made up or if we wanted the beds together or apart. but the first night he kept the beds together in both rooms and made up both top and bottom bunks in both rooms. this night he still kept all the beds together but only made up the bunks in one room. DS8 had been sleeping in with us, but no big deal, we just threw him in the big bed with DS15 ( who had become spoiled in having big bed to himself, but hey, he was at a movie, he would be so tired when he got in, he wouldn't care!) We did leave a note for Jayson the next day so that he would make up the top bunk in our room.
