Hi We are going on our first cruise next year... We are going on the Disney wonder. We are all booked and ready... Any hints on what is a must to bring/ do or What not to bring.... :) My kids will be 13 1/2 and 10 1/2 when we go.

my first time on a disney cruise...

I've been on one before though and dont' really remember needing much..

some clothes, been reading about and if you have a seven day or more bring a formal night outfit or 2.

You should bring a bag for the beach! To put extra things you might need.. sunblock, towel ect.

Really its all about what you like to do in the morning, if brush teeth toothbrush,

If you like make-up make-up,

For the kids? they'll probably be fine with almost nothing. but if they like to read or have some kind of hobby maybe bring that. although I was a teen on my last and only cruise and had lotzzzzzzzzzzz to do without anything I might have brought. And it wasnt even a disney one,, can't imagine heh.. well sorta can, will be very entertaining I'm sure.!!

Some paper and pens always good Idea for drawing to games ..

Being open to meet new people and try different things is really what is needed ...

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Hope you all have a good time , take care!

Hi,
a lot of people bring an over the door shoe holder and put all their toiletry items in it so they dont roll around in the bathroom. there are shelves in there, but sometimes if you put one of these over the bathroom door it really can make thing much more convenient, especially when everyoneis getting ready for dinner.
Cash for room service tips
cash for washers and dryers if you use them. I dont do laundry on a 3 day, but sometimes bathing suits are wet so I dry them before packing to come home. The machines take quaters and there is a dollar bill changer there.

You really dont need alot of clothes either. I bring a dress, skirt 3 blouses and a jacket and a scarf and just mix and match for dinner. No real formal night on the Wonder. Pirate night you can dress as a pirate if you want or tropical. Most people on the Wonder just wear pirate bandanas and t-shirts. On the Magic people go all out with elaborate costumes.
You will have a photo opportunity with captain Jack Sparrow on Pirate night so you may want something more piratey to wear then.
sandals work for all my dinner attire, so one pair of sandals, one pair of tennis shoes and I'm all set. men khaki's or dockers with a button up collared shirt is great. maybe a tie for tritions, but DCL is very casual.

biggest tip I can offer is to ALWAYS take your camera with you!!! Even at dinner!! Special things happen towards the end of the evening in the restaurants, at least 2 of them. characters sometimes appear on deck too, so ALWAYS carry your camera.
Have your teen go to the stack the first day because they have "Ice Breaker games" to get aquainted with other teens. This is a great thing for them. We have had teens with us a few times, your teen is in for a awesome time!!
Sois the 12 yea rold. The understand at those ages Mickey is not the things they are interested in, so they do things that are really age apropriate, so no worries about things being to babyish for them.

also check the cruise meets thread on this board for your cruise date. If you see it, post there and get aquainted with others on your cruise. You can seeif others have kids the age of your kids, if so they can get aquainted before the cruise so they will have a new friend waiting for them as will you.
If you dont see a thread for your xcruise, start one yourself. just select New Thread and post. Keep it bumped up and others will join you.
I have done this many, many times andit is alot of fun. The shorter cruises have less people posting, so be patient and keep posting, someone will join you.

I have a thread for next April that I am all alone on and have put 90 posts myself to keep it bumped up, someday when the cruise is closer I know others will join me. My 7 day cruises have 35 to 50 families on them, so please try it, I'm sure you'll have a great time.
