Our FastPass and Single Rider review for RSR + June 20th DCA Crowd Video

Thank you for responding...I was confused about child swap, I thought both parents could wait in line with the child and then somehow swap the baby when the first rider is done LOL I am silly...now I realize its an actual pass.
kmedina, I like your plan a lot better than mine. So relieved I will not have to rush for fast passes, we will definitely use the single rider line. Any idea if they will let us use a child swap pass for that?

Also, I have read in multiple websites that good neighbor hotels are included in the magic mornings. "Rather than being limited to Disney resort guests only, Magic Morning is available to those who have an admission ticket which includes the "Magic Morning" feature. Magic Morning is included with 3- 4- and 5- day park hoppers that are purchased from the Disneyland web site, and also with certain travel packages. Guests do not necessarily have to stay at the Disney resorts - a number of local "Good Neighbor" hotels are also included. The feature can only be used on one day." http://allears.net/dlr/tp/early.htm
I might have to print this and have it ready to avoid confusion right??

Read the Early Admission Superthread that Hydroguy posted. It clarifies everything. :goodvibes

The page you linked to is for Magic Morning and talks about how it is for Disneyland only. Here is the Disney Blog I got the info about all the Early Entries offered: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/06/for-your-information-early-entry-opportunities-at-the-disneyland-resort/

So unless they changed that in the past week since that blog came out, staying off site with 3 day tickets gets you into DL only for one day. If you want to get in to DCA early then you need to stay in one of the 3 Disney Resort hotels and they say they will check room keys. Or if you have an AP you can sign up ahead of time for one Early Entry at each park.

They did make this very confusing, but that's what I got from the blog they posted. I saved it so I can refer back to it because it is so complicated.

We never used the single rider line at RSR (since our older son was tall enough to ride), so the following is just a guess. I am assuming that you could not get a rider swap pass when using the single rider line. The pass says right on it that it is good for up to two people (although they have let more than two people on in the past, we only had two who used it an any time this trip, so I am unsure how much they enforce that now). If they allowed people to get a rider swap pass from the single rider line, the second group of up to two would go through the FP line. That means no one would have waited in the full line despite not having a FP. It seems a little unfair (based on how long the regular line is and how long you stand in line to get the fastpass), so I doubt they allow it. Even though the second group going through in your case would only be a single, the passes are still good for up to two people. I could be wrong, so it never hurts to ask.

For the other two rides, there is no single rider or fastpass line. Have the first person wjo goes through the regular line ask for the rider swap pass. Most cast members insist on seeing the kid not riding, so the other adult with the baby should go up there as well. Once the first rider is off, the rider swap can be used any time throughout the rest of the day. You go to the back entrance to use it. I usually come back later and try to do other rides whose lines get longer throughout the day like TSMM. Your infant can ride that as well, so it would be nice to ride one together as a family.

...It was hard for us to figure out what to do because usually I come up with a game plan through this board. Since we went opening week we had to wing it!
I understand, that is why I'm glad my family is going to DL Post HG (post HydroGuy).

He's going in late July, we're going in early August. I've got a solid basic plan, as usual, but I'll wait to hear what HG says after his trip in July (especially concerning CL, RSR, and WOC) before I finalize our plans.
:cool2:

LOL I will post my thoughts but there are lots of others around here such as DLR29 and the Blog posters who have good posts on this. I will be following what they say LOL!

Here are our two days at RSR:

June 26: Hit gates at 7:40, got in line for FP while family waits for rope drop to ride California Screaming. Had FP in hand by 8:20. The FP machine does not turn on until 8:00. FP return time was 1:00. We returned at 6:36pm and we were in a car at 6:44pm. Yes...8 minutes.

June 27: Hit gates at 7:40, got in line for FP while family waits for rope drop to ride Tower of Terror. Some FP machines are down. At 8:30, husband swaps with me while we ride Soarin' with no wait. FP tickets in hand by 8:45. FP return time was 3:00pm. We returned at 6:45pm and at 7:00pm we had six loadings in front of us when the ride went down. We were told it takes 45 minutes to completely reset the ride. Lots of people got out of line!?! We were the second group to load at 8:10pm.

We almost got out of line to find our World of Color place. But, we figured we would have another night at WoC so we waited for RSR. We found the the fire hydrant spot with no problems at 8:20.

So, would you say the EE crowd at DCA on Tuesday was better than Wed? Since we don't have any sort of EE at all I'm starting to formulate a plan that involves starting at DCA on Tue/Th mornings and DL on Wed/Fri mornings. I'm thinking the APEE crowd might be lighter than the hotel crowd. Since Monday is our first full day, we'll probably start at DCA anyway just to see how it is to compare.
