We always go to a different resort when we go to Disney. From my first visit when I was a young boy, to my most recent visit with my wife and 11 year old son, I/we have always tried a different "in the park" resort. I can't say there was one that we "didn't" like, but of course we liked some over others. We have stayed at "value" & "moderate" & "deluxe" resorts. On out last trip to the park (11/08) we stayed at a "garden view" room at the POLY. We went head over heels for it! We just loved the theme, the accesibility to the parks, the activities on the property, and the "Volcano" pool !

The problem we have is we started to think about our next trip to WDW and all three of us agree that we just loved the Poly and we are not being to open about staying anywhere else because we don't want to be disappointed. We were actually looking to make the Epcot area the focus of our next stay, and look into the Y&B club and The Boardwalk as places to stay.

Anyone else that has ever run into this problem?

Opinions appreciatted!

Thanks!

Another Poly lover here. I would find it hard to stay elsewhere too, but am going to make myself do so someday. That said, we have Poly booked for 9/2009.:rotfl:

I'd like to try the following resorts someday:

1) Boardwalk..close to Epcot, lots to do.
2) GF..looks beautiful, and on the monorail
3)CR..also on the monorail..walking distance to MK
4)WL...beautiful resort..boat to MK.
5) AKL..love AK, the resort is gorgeous, and we love animals.
6)CSR..the pool looks nice, it has lots of amenities for a moderate resort, and the lower price tag as well.

We used to have that problem when we stayed at the Poly. Then we stayed at the CSR and now we can't leave it (six of our last seven stays...and the one we missed we were back at the POLY!).

You can always stay at the Poly again and try something else the next visit.

You could consider a split stay??

Stay the first three nights at Beach Club or Boardwalk and the rest of the vacation at the Polynesian!

It can be a bit of a bother to re-pack everything up, but it would solve your conundrum.

We love love love the Poly too! :cloud9: Just can't always afford it. ;)

Happy planning!

I know how you feel. We thought about going back this year because last year was our best trip yet. My ds11 has a goal to stay at every resort. Last year we ate at Beaches and Cream so he decided it would be BC/YC this year. We finally decided on BC . I am curious to see if we will like the EPCOT area after the last few trips staying MK area. My only concern is transportation to MK.

I am still looking forward to the trip and trying something new.

Good problem to have :thumbsup2

I agree- a split stay is the way to go. Just spend the first two days at another resort- then you know you'll be at the Poly for the rest. I agree- it's hard to spend all of your days at a new resort- that's why we almost always do split stays so we can try other resorts!!:)

We always wanted to try the Poly and we finally took that plunge in Sept '07 and had a fabulous stay :thumbsup2. Our previous deluxe stays were at the BC and WL. After our Poly stay we thought that was the only resort we'd ever want to stay at from that trip on..........until I started researching the GF :rolleyes1. We are now booked at the GF this summer and we can't wait :cool1: :cool1:. If you really love the Poly that much and don't think anything else will compare, then book the Poly where you know you'll be happy ;). Or like others have suggested.....book a split stay and end your trip at the Poly....that way you can compare a new resort with the Poly for any future stays :goodvibes. Good luck deciding.......the Poly IS a great resort so I can see why you want to go back :).

We have this problem with the GF :lmao: Now when we go on other vacation other than Disney World I ALWAYS compare the hotels and never seem happy :rotfl: We have 5 weeks left until we are "HOME" again YAY!

My DH and I are definitely Polynesian fans. I think part of the love of the resort is the monorail - my husband uses a wheelchair and hates the "drama" (in his head) of getting on/off the buses. We have considered staying at other monorail resorts, but we always think back to the Poly.

We always stayed at the POLY and CR when I was growing up. Since DH and I have been going, we have never stayed there. I kinda forced myself to pick YC over POLY years ago (the kids really wanted to stay there...SAB, EPCOT, and DHS).

Well, we fell in love with the YC! This year it's just DH and I and we're staying at the POLY. I have a feeling that after this trip he'll be all about the POLY. Since this is a short trip for us, we're only staying at the POLY, but I really think that from here on out we will probably do split stays between the 2.

Once you have a really good trip at one resort it really is hard to convince yourself to try others.

On my gosh, this is so funny :rotfl:

We are having the same dilemma, except that we are having trouble deciding on whether to stay at the Polynesian (for the first time)over going back to the Beach Club, for the 3rd time...

Our next trip is April 27, 2010, for 6 days. It's our DD's 16th birthday, and since it's her birthday she is trying so hard to decided on where to stay.

We Love the Beach Club. :woohoo: Location, Location, Location and Pool....

The location for the Beach Club is fabulous. It's a 5 minute walk to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, or a 20 minute walk or boat ride to Disney Hollywood Studio. If we were tired and needed a break in the afternoon, most of the time it took a few minutes and then we were back at our resort, napping and then back to DHS or Epcot, or catching the monorail to MK or a bus to Animal Kingdom.

Another great thing about the BC is the store in the lobby, (not Beach's & Cream) it has a small sandwich cafe, with a coke and coffee fountain, and the YC didn't. We stayed at the YC last September and we had to walk over to the BC for our cokes. At the YC, Captains Grille was open in the morning for coffee and cokes but I found the cokes to be very syrupy (the cokes came out of a spout that you mix drinks with:confused3), plus my husband found the coffee to be okay:confused3

We have also stayed BoardWalk, it was fun, but with our kids they love to swim and the pool at the BC/YC is fabulous. The slide is so much fun, the sandy bottom is like your at the beach but with chlorine pool water. It has a lazy river in it, plus this fun whirl pool area. The pool stretches for miles :lmao: okay not miles but it's huge. My kids just love it. (My kids are 16, 18, & 21)

So our dilemma is whether to try a new places either The Polynesian or The Contemporary but we are so spoiled to BeachClub, that we aren't sure if we want to change...:lmao:

But I think we are going to give the Polynesian a try and hopefully we will like it.

DH does, sorta....he really loves the monorail line but he doesnt care which resort we stay at....

BUT our fave is the Epcot resorts, BWI and YC are the best!

We've had that problem since our first Disney trip when we stayed at the Poly!
We all loved it so much that we had to stay there all the time.

After a few trips I wanted to try the other resorts just to see what they were like. So we did 2 split stays with the YC then the following year the BC.
We did like them but didn't compare to the Poly, so we're back to staying our entire trip there and loving every minute of it. :goodvibes

Welcome to the Poly addicts club!! :flower3:

We also love the Poly, but with six of us now, it's definitely out. Fortunately,we own DVC, so we have a lot of options, just no Poly.
