Part Two
Adam and Melanie's 7 year Anniversary Cruise (without kids!)
Day 2, August 29th Castaway Cay
This was our 7 year anniversary and reason for our cruise. We had expected to be in Key West but were thrilled to wake up to the Magic docking at Castaway Cay. We went to Topsiders for breakfast then headed out to the island for our 9:45am excursion Wave Runner Eco Tour.
First let me say WOW!!!! Castaway Cay is beautiful just like all the pics I saw and better!!!! We met on the beach for the wave runner excursion. There would be three doubles going out with our guide Brian. This excursion was TONS of fun! It was really interesting learning different facts about both Castaway Cay and the Bahamas in general I will not spoil them for you by listing them here. The water was beautiful and we got to see the island a different way. This was probably both mine and Adams favorite excursion out of the whole trip. We are looking forward to trying it again on the next cruise! After the jet skis, Adam and I spent the rest of the day at Castaway Cay snorkeling, swimming and walking around the island. Before heading back to the ship at about 3pm, we bought and mailed postcards home and to family and friends. We had decided to skip Cookies BBQ on the island so once back on the ship we ordered something small from room service since we had Palos ressies that night for our anniversary!!!
After a nice walk around deck and a well-deserved nap, we got ready for Palos. Skipping the show that night we headed to our Palo ressie at 7pm. Palo is beautifully decorated and definitely achieves the romantic atmosphere it sets out for. We purposely made our reservation for sunset and loved the view. Kristof from Belgium was our server. He was wonderful!!!! His recommendations and input was right on target as well as being a gracious informant on the ships happenings J !!! We had between us the salads, pizza, minestrone, chicken with mushroom, filet mignon, and rack of lamb. Adam and I indulged in so much food that I swore we would have to be wheeled out of there but of course we left room for more Fairy Tale Cuvee and then the infamous chocolate souflee (which did justice to its reputation on the boards!). Kristoff always brought more food than ordered including our two desserts and an extra he wanted us to try and we didnt let it go to waste! We tipped him well above the standard.
We headed off to Rockin Bar D to see John Charles the musical comedian that we enjoyed from the Welcome Aboard show the night before. He was just as good tonight. We stayed to watch 60s Night and the Beatles Charles Marshall Band. Have to give the cruise staff credit as they really get you involved! They were continuously pulling people from the audience to dance and running around singing and clapping. We turned in after 60s night was drawing to a close to find our romantic turndown waiting for us in the room. Beautiful rose petals decorated the bed with two towel swans kissing in the shape of a heart. It was very romantic and brought a perfect end to our anniversary.

Day 3, August 30th Day at Sea
We ordered our champagne breakfast in bed from REAS package this morning for about 9am (yes, sadly this is the latest we can seem to sleep in now even without the kids around and being out and up late). Room service called to let us know the breakfast was on its way right on time and it was delivered. Well I have to say that I was a little surprised to see all of the plates. It turned out even though it is not listed on the card, the eggs we ordered came with potatoes and bacon or sausage and I had ordered extra on top of that!!! So we had quite the feast. We lounged about and got ready for our Couples Massage at 11:45am.
Now Adam and I have never had massages before so this was new for both of us. Neither of us is shy but we also were not looking to participate in the birthday suit! J We checked in and filled out our forms in which they ask for areas of concern (ex:dieting/weight loss, dry skin, cellulite, etc) and medical issues. Wedid not write the no sales pitch on our forms. We were then each sent in to undress. You are given a basket for your belongings and a robe to put on. After undressing our masseuses came to get each of us. We had Elaine I believe from South Africa and Meme I believe from the UK. They explained our options to us again for the spa taster or full body in which we both chose the full body massage. They asked if we would like to upgrade and include aeromatherapy for $30 each extra which we chose to do and this included scalp massage, front of body massage and facial aeromatherapy called Wellbeingand Pure Indulgence. For adding it we received a free Milk Bath. It was very soothing we both loved the massage.
After the spa, we had time to hit Rockin Bar D for the Navigator Series for the Making of the Magic. This was very interesting and included a Q&A session with crew members as well. For lunch we hit Topsiders for the Asian Buffet. It was good, not great. We decided to try out Bingo that afternoon and see what all the fuss was about. The afternoon jackpot was $3000+ and we didnt win but had fun anyway! Seems as though that can be quite an expensive habit!!!!
Tonight was Formal night. The Captains Reception was nice. There were FREE DRINKS (always a plus) and a line to see him and get a picture with him. The lines around to have Formal pics taken at various backgrounds were very long so I suggest getting there early. We lined up at one on deck 4 above the lobby about 10 minutes before it was supposed to be open after the show that night and were 2nd in line. The show was the Golden Mickeys. It was really nice and better than I had expected. It was great to see all the little ones around the ship dressed up. We had dinner in Lumieres which was quite fitting. Lumieres was my favorite restaurant. Since we missed dinner the night before because of our Palo ressie, our fabulous dining team brought out a cake tonight and sang to us for our anniversary chanting Kiss kiss a normally embarassing situation for us was fun due to their enthusiasm.
We ended the night again at Rockin Bar D to see Rich Pupura (magician). He was hilarious! We stayed for some more music from the Charles Marshall Band and then called it a night!
